Music has always been an important part of my life and it is how I met my husband while performing in the outdoor drama, 'Stephen Foster, The Musical' in 1976. I also enjoy gardening and hope to introduce native wildflowers around the cabin for our guest to enjoy. Another hobby of mine is genealogy. My husband Cam, is the director of pharmacy at a hospital in Louisville. He enjoys photography and tennis. Cam also is a diehard University of Kentucky fan and drives a Ford F-150 customized in UK decals and other accoutrements. Cam has had 2 duty tours in Iraq and 2 stateside tours. We have 2 great sons and one lovely daughter-in-law.

Robin Sutherland purchased this cabin in 2010

Buying a cabin near the Smoky Mountains has always been a dream of mine. My father’s family roots are in Eastern Tennessee and I was born in Knoxville. I have traveled to many lovely locations in Western Europe, the Far East and Caribbean but my first choice of a permanent dwelling is the Smoky Mountains. As a child, going to Cades Cove every month to enjoy hiking, biking, camping, horseback riding, picnicking, or tubing was always a treat. The Smoky Mountains have always felt like a sanctuary when my spirit needs to be uplifted, renewed, and comforted or reminded of the vibrancy of nature.

I like the feeling of being in an uncomplicated place, surrounded by nature yet having every convenience I desire available if the need arises. Over the years my husband and I have hiked many of the day trails in the Smoky Mountains as well as stayed overnight at Mt. LeConte. Spring is my favorite season because of the wildflowers; they can be very prolific if you know the trails to take. The visitor’s center at Sugarlands in the park, can provide you with excellent material on the location of trails that are historical, have water features, and wildflowers along with the length and ease or difficulty of the trail. Being in Sevier County affords me the luxury of researching my ancestors who settled here in the late 1700’s. I can take advantage of all the attractions the area has to offer while staying in the cabin we've decorated to feel like a second home, and not a resort or hotel in the area. The cabin has a personality of its own. One of the attractions for people coming to the Smoky National Park are the black bears of the park. I've made certain that if your visit does not include an actual siting of a live bear, you'll find bears throughout the cabin in its decor. But you may get lucky as a bear with cubs, raccoon plus 4 babies and turkey have entertained guests. The cabin is accessible to all vehicles, the road is paved and the parking area for the cabin is gravel and level.

Staying at this cabin was such an awesome experience. Everything was first rate and so clean! There was so much to do as far as entertainment, great TV reception, awesome hot tub and so much room! Our family just enjoyed every minute of our experience in this wonderful cabin. Robin was very helpful through the whole process and very efficient as far as questions you may have.

A fabulous facility to accommodate our family

If you are looking for a quiet corner in the Gateway to the Smokies area, this may be the place for you. It is out of the way of the regular tourist traps and yet close enough to allow you to quickly become part of that if you so desire. The house is beautifully furnished. We cooked in rather than going out and the kitchen was superbly equipped. The pool table was a big attraction as well as the foose ball game. The hot tub was nice even in the chill of Feb - walking barefooted on the snow across the deck was exhilarating and added to the memories we made. The hostess was very gracious and helpful. We came away refreshed and renewed as a family.

Cabin was as described and set up for an enjoyable stay. Has plenty of games, pool table, and also very nice flat screen Tv's. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of room. Robin was very courteous and I would recommend this cabin to anyone and we hope to stay there again.

Thank you

We loved the cabin (and) hated to leave. We came to Gatlinburg for a youth conference. Had a blast, made a lot of memories and a lot of laughs. The best part of the trip was that we had four of our youth to receive Jesus in their heart and claim him as Lord and Savior. All our lives are forever changed and we will never forget this trip. Thanks for all your help and information concerning the cabin.

Wonderful place for a family!

Very private, clean and comfortable with the feel of home. Stocked with things you might have left at home. Lots of entertainment for children of any age, games puzzles,Dvd's.
Only condo/house we've ever rented that had quality cookware and appliances and you can tell great care was taken in the decor. Only thing that would make winter visit better would be a heater in basement level and 11am checkout.

Service from owners and staff wonderful. We left behind a wallet with cash, they are mailing it to us. Ever had that happen...not me
