We are from Pittsburgh, PA and love nothing more than getting away to Kiawah!
Our family fell in love with Kiawah over fifteen years ago, and vacationed there many times. We were captured by its natural beauty and loved the memories we had created. It only seemed natural to make this our 2nd home!
To be in the tranquility of Kiawah Island is to nearly be in heaven. We love the quick walk to the beautiful beach - at low tide, it is wide, firm and great for biking. Its close proximity makes it easy to go back and forth during the day, or take a picnic basket with cheese, fruit and a bottle of wine at sunset...it doesn't get any better. The golf courses (3 public) are outstanding. We also love to rent kayaks and watch the dolphins 'strand feeding' along the banks of the Kiawah River. We have rented boats at nearby Bohicket Marina, and cruised the inland waterways. Charleston is 40 minutes away, and is perfectly charming, with world class dining, shopping and historical attractions. Touring plantations in the area is also a great activity. But relaxing on the patio in the evening by the lagoon with family and friends could be the best activity of all.
