OCEANFRONT, SPECTACULAR VIEWS, SERENE, COMFORTABLE, IDEAL LOCATION

Trenton Barn Rental Photos and Description

Comfortable, spacious, and family and pet-friendly home sleeps up to 10

The sun and moon rise over Cadillac Mountain which is framed in the huge sliders and windows. The weather changes constantly. Many mornings are still and calm, inviting kayaking and powerboating, and the afternoons often bring lively breezes that are perfect for sailing. Right around the point is Union River Bay, and Blue Hill can be seen from the southwest side of the point. Because the property faces mostly south, we have lovely sunshine that reflects off the water, so even in the winter you feel bathed in light. Foggy or stormy days bring their own pleasures, with antiquing or shopping nearby, or quiet afternoons curled up by the fire with a good book. The extensive lawn is perfect for any type of outdoor activities you might enjoy.

The unique beauty of Acadia National Park is just minutes away. There are so many things to see and do! Bar Harbor is filled with fun shopping and dining options.

The Setting:: The sun and moon rise over Cadillac Mountain which is framed in the huge sliders and windows. The weather changes constantly. Acadia National Park:: The unique beauty of Acadia National Park is just minutes away. There are so many things to see and do! Bar Harbor is filled with fun shopping and dining options. You can enjoy a day on a windjammer or go out on a lobster boat. Although you technically could go through Acadia National Park in a day, you wouldn't be able to do more than scratch the surface of all it has to offer in just one visit. We always get a pass to the park so we can go as often as we want while we are there. You must see the Loop Road, the views from the top of Cadillac Mountain, the Thunderhole, Sand Beach, the Carriage Roads, and so much more. Plan on visiting the Jordan Pond House to see 'The Bubbles' and try their famous popovers.

The Coast of Maine:

Relax and breathe in the fresh clean air, watch the waves crash on the pink granite cliffs, smell the fragrant pines, hear the gulls call. But, be careful. Once you experience the coast of Maine, it will never leave your heart.

The Coast of Maine:: Other Amenities: Upstairs and downstairs can be two separate areas. Each has their own sleeping accommodations, bathroom, kitchen, and washer and dryer, making this an ideal property for two couples traveling together or an extended family

Other Activities: Lobster bakes, boat charters, ferry to Nova Scotia all nearby

BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL, COMFORTABLE AND ENTERTAINING~!

  • 5 of 5
Our family of 6 completely enjoyed ourselves in your home. We rented kayaks for the week and enjoyed ourselves so much paddling the surrounding waters, watching the seals and exploring Alley island that we didn't make it to Acadia park until the following week. Which, by the way, is stunning! My 6 y/o son asked for his birthday if we could go back to Maine...and this was after we completed our 12 hour drive home. I would be happy to oblige him~! Thank you and we hope to come back again soon.

A LITTLE PIECE OF PARADISE

  • 5 of 5
We were thrilled to arrive at "The Barn". This very tastefully house has everything!
Charm, spectacular views of the water and landscape and a cosy gas fire. There is nothing you will want for in this home.

The garden has plenty of space and a lovely seating/dinning area to take in the breath taking views of the ocean.

Liz was very helpful. Her information about places to visit was great! We loved Acadia and got to try some fresh lobster!

We had a very relaxing and refreshing weekend. We will definitely be back.!!!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!

  • 5 of 5
I don't believe the owner's description does this property justice. We were expecting something nice - but our expectations were completely blown away upon our arrival.

The property was absolutely breathtaking and our stay could not possibly have been any better (although we did luck out with great weather). From drinking our coffee on the porch - overlooking Acadia National Park - while watching the sunrise, to the peace, serenity and relative seclusion of its location, to the modern amenities that you would otherwise expect while staying at a hotel - just absolutely amazing.

Liz (the owner) was a pleasure to work with and was highly responsive and accommodating. She was so incredibly amazing to us. The property has been in her family for many years. You can tell she cares a great deal about it from speaking with her, but it's even more evident when you see it in person.

If you have ANY doubts about renting this property - don't. You will not be disappointed. We can't wait to go back and rent it again.

VACATION AT MAINSTAY

  • 5 of 5
The Barn at Mainstay is a wonderful vacation house. My husband and his parents and I stayed there the last week of September and it was just a great vacation. The house is in the woods but easy to get to. The view from the back of the house is just incredible. We had coffee outside in the mornings on the deck with a great view of the mountains and water. Everything is close by, Bar Harbor, and Acadia so you don't have to travel far and you have piece and quiet at night. The house is equipt with everything you need. It is perfect for a family getaway. We enjoyed cooking dinners together and ordering in lobster!!! Can't wait to be able to return.

AN AMAZING VACATION!

  • 5 of 5
What an incredible vacation. We had four adults and four children (ages 6-13) staying at this house and it was perfect. We used the entire second floor for sleeping and the first floor for eating and hanging out. The house is great. It has everything you will need. The location is perfect -- secluded, but easy to get everywhere. And, the view cannot be beat. I would highly recommend this property.
We rented kayaks one day (Acadia 1 will deliver) and went out straight from the beach at this house -- it was incredible. This is a prime location for kayaking. I hope to be back next summer!

A RELAXING FAMILY RETREAT!

  • 5 of 5
Our recent stay at "The Barn" was just what we needed to relax and get away from it all! The location itself is beautiful; we walked on the beach daily and liked being away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas. The Barn was a perfect fit for our extended family of 7, with the dual living spaces, bathrooms, kitchens and laundry areas on both floors.

Bring your toothbrush and a few changes of clothes and you will be set for your week away! This house had everything else we needed--we even overpacked on the basics that we thought we would need. We loved cooking our own lobsters with the equipment that they had available; several of the popular lobster pounds are only about 15 minutes away from the property. Bar Harbor and Acadia are both within 25-30 minutes away and Ellsworth has a lot to see and do as well. We easily went to may of the "harbor" towns nearby to explore and still had the rest of the day to relax at the house, prepare meals if we felt like it and enjoy the beautiful views.

We can't wait to go back to Maine and will definitely consider this property again if we are in the same region! Thanks again!

Oak Point in Trenton is one of the nicest spots on coastal Maine. The view of Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island is simply spectacular. There are many small islands in Western Bay which are populated by seals and bald eagles. The boating is legendary, the environment is pristine, and the beauty of the area is simply breathtaking. Acadia National Park is a short drive away, and Ellsworth is so convenient for stocking up on groceries or checking out the charming downtown area with the many shops and eateries. There are many options for family fun, but it will be hard to tear yourself away from The Barn at Main Stay.

Other Activities: Kayaking, Shelling, Cross Country Skiing, Rock Climbing, Snowmobiling, Shopping, Boating, Wildlife Viewing, Miniature golf.

Golf: Kebo Valley Golf Club was founded in 1888. It is the 8th oldest golf club in the United States and has challenged the skills of many of the country’s finest players, most influential politicians and leaders of industry. Nestled between Cadillac and Dorr Mountain in Bar Harbor, Maine, Kebo includes 18 spectacular holes, each one very different from the rest.

.

The championship par 70 course consistently ranks among America’s best public courses. Kebo Valley is rated among the 'Top 15' public courses in New England by the New England Journal of Golf, among the 'Top 10' classical public golf courses by Golf Digest and received a four star rating in Golf Digest’s 'Places to Play.'

Ski: The Camden Snow Bowl is a community owned ski and recreation area. From the summit of 1300' Ragged Mountain, home to the Snow Bowl's trails, skiers and riders have an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a view quite unlike any other in the east. The Camden Snow Bowl really is 'where the mountains meet the sea'. In addition to alpine skiing and snowboarding, there are many other winter activities available at the Snow Bowl. A snow tubing slope provides fun for all family members, ice skating on Hosmer pond and a thrilling 400' toboggan chute. The National Toboggan Championships are held here the first weekend of February. There is also a cross country ski and snowshoeing trail available.
