Our villa is only 20 minutes for the Liberia International airport. We are located in Playa Hermosa on the Papagayo Gulf Peninsula.
The villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, a/c, internet, BBQ, TV, DVD, laundry & is fully equipped for 6 people. We have our own private plunge pool in the terrace area.
The villa is in a gated community which is shared with an all inclusive resort. We have security service 24/7, an on site shuttle service is available to guests from 6 am to 11 pm. My guests have free access to most of the the Resort amenities such as pools (one with a sloped edge entry for the little kids), health club, jacuzzi area and wet bar, organized daily activities, tennis court, Gym, Spa, and tour agency. As well there is a mini market and excellent restaurants.
You can walk down to the beach for a swim, or be part of the resort beach activities. We recommend you to visit the Heliconias swimming pool, in order to be advised about daily activities for all.
20 minutes to Liberia International Airport: One of the reasons we chose to purchase in this area is its close proximity to the Liberia airport. It is a short 20 minute drive over new roads. As well, the northwest part of the country has a drier heat than the rest of the country so you don't feel the humidity like some of the other areas.
Once you arrive at our gated resort, there are complimentary staffed open air vehicles that shuttle resort guests around the property, to the beach, restaurants, to the 2 large pools, (one of which has a swim up bar), the disco and sports facilities including new tennis and basketball courts.
If you really want to be pampered you can take part in the Resort's all inclusive food and beverage packages.
Things to Do Nearby: There are five National Parks within a couple of hours drive, including Lake Arenal (2 hours away), which boasts a live volcano, hot springs with world class spas. Wind surfing at Lake Arenal is also world famous.
Take a boat tour in the Palo Verde Reserve. Here you will see many exotic birds, crocodiles, and perhaps some monkeys.
Go to Guatil and see where the local pottery is made using the traditional methods.
Also nearby are deep sea fishing, first class scuba diving, sailing, four wheeling and zip lines for racing through the tree tops on a rigged line with a harness, just to mention a few.
If you have a car you can easily do these tours on your own but if you prefer you can arrange these excursions onsite at the hotel through Swiss Travel.
The Beach: Most of the beaches in Costa Rica are darker sand beaches because of the lava rock. Playa Hermosa literally means 'beautiful beach' and it truly is. It is a great family beach, normally with gentle waves with no rip tides. The waves can be great for boogy boarding but if you want to surf you need to drive about an hour south to some of the beaches down the coast. Snorkeling can be done right from the shore or you can hire a boat to take you out for a few hours. The local Playa Hermosa Association pays to have the beach cleaned several times a week so the beach is not littered.
