Quiet older unit close enough to walk into town.

After some issues checking in (the front desk didn't know we were coming) and not finding the sheets for the hide-a-bed for 3 nights because they weren't where the paperwork said our stay went well. The unit is older and a little more dated than we expected but the quiet location was great and Solmar beach is fantastic (and empty) if that's what you're looking for. However, the surf is too strong to swim there. An added plus is being to climb the rocks and walk to Lover's beach if you are somewhat active and adventurous. This was our first time to Mexico not staying at a major resort so our expectations were probably higher than they should have been. The kitchen and bath's are definitly dated and due for an update but the unit was suited our family of 5 well. I had stressed that I needed internet access in the unit for work but the only signal was from the balcony and it was marginal at best. This was a major inconvenience for my work. A $40 wireless extender would fix this in a matter of minutes and I had been told the internet should be good by the time our stay came. Not so. The dish / cable set-up was horrible as well. Only a few channels but nothing worth watching for the kids. Bring some DVD's. We didn't go to Mexico to sit on the internet or watch TV but at the end of busy days, these were actually big diappointments for our family. Our kids range from 15-20. The pool and swim up bar were nice and the staff was great when we needed something. Would we stay here again? Possibly with some minor improvements. All in all it's a nice (but older) place in a great quiet location.
