Charming sunlight-filled c.1835 renovated farmhouse, located on a quiet street near the heart of Jamaica Plain, one of Boston's most popular neighborhoods. The home is well located near Longwood hospital district, Arnold Arboretum, Franklin Park, historic Forest Hills Cemetery, pubs, and restaurants. Public transport within walking distance and a 15 min train ride to downtown Boston.

Home has off street parking, lovely backyard, PRIVACY, first floor laundry, sleeping for 8, fully equipped kitchen, WIFI, large great room addition, 2 full baths, library, master bedroom with cathedral ceilings and California king bed, smaller guest room with two twin beds, queen sleeper sofa and 2 twin Simmons Beautyrest folding beds. I am a New Englander and grew up in central MA and a suburb of Boston. For twenty years, I was a public school teacher and principal in Boston Public Schools. Currently, I am finishing a PhD program in Education Anthropology with plans to return to public education.

Meg Maccini purchased this house in 2000

Initially, I bought this home because it reminded me of my great aunt's and uncle's farmhouse in Southern Vermont, where my family would visit in the summer. The house is quaint and has great warmth and character. Over the years that I have owned the house, I have totally renovated it, adding a new kitchen, an additional full bath and a great room with a vaulted ceiling. I have landscaped the yard with local plants and old cobblestones recycled from Boston's streets. While the house is modernized, it retains its unique character and charm.

Wonderful, gated private yard, off street parking, great neighbors and neighborhood. Jamaica Plain is one of Boston's most diverse neighborhoods and has a vibrant art and cafe culture within walking distance of the house.

A DELIGHTFUL, WARM AND COZY ACCOMODATIONS AFTER A COLD DAY OF TOURING BOSTON!

My daughter had her college ECAC indoor track meet at the Reggie Lewis Center this past weekend. My decided to make a weekend of it with my neigbor from Philadelphia and my sister and her husband who flew in from San Francisco. The house was incredibly comfortable for gathering, chatting, catching up after long days of touring or watching track. I could only imagine how pleasant the backyard would be to sip wine and chat had the weather been warmer. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with pots/pans/spices/just about anything you would need. It was clean and beds were comfortable. This place is definitely a do over! Thanks Meg!

DELIGHTFUL & WELL MAINTAINED

My wife and I were extremely pleased with our one-month stay around the birth of our grandchild. The house was beautifully decorated, well maintained and extremely convenient. The owner and her local property manager are accessible and responsive. The house comes with all the equipment and supplies necessary.
We especially enjoyed the large master bedroom -- with its high ceiling, skylight and oversize bed –- as well as the comfortable and sunny family room with its backyard access. The galley kitchen was very functional. Off-street parking in the driveway was an extra convenience. Both the Jamaica Plain shopping district and the Green Street MBTA station are a short walk away. We highly recommend local restaurants James Gate Tavern, Vee Vee and Bukhara. We look forward to our one-week return stays in February and May to visit our grandson.

PLEASANT GETAWAY!

Very enjoyable stay in this nice, refurbished farmhouse! Comfortable and well stocked with kitchen needs, baby accessories, games and much more. We enjoyed our walks through the park to the public transportation stop.
One thing I wish I had kown before renting is that both bedrooms are on the second floor and none on the first. It was not problematic, just inconvient. Otherwise a very nice place to stay.

GOOD DÉCOR AND LOCATION. POOR PROPERTY MANAGER.

Our stay at this place had both positive and negative experiences. The place is located in a nice area with easily accessible restaurants. The onsite parking is nice though I noticed a fair amount of available street parking while we were there. It is about 10 minute drive to downtown Boston which was extremely convenient. The house is a quaint little old farm house, thus expect some of the oldness with it, like slopping floors etc. It is very quiet. Meg, the owner does a nice job at decorating the place and if you have young kids, she does have a fair number of accessories for them such as playpen, portable high chairs, child proof socket plugs, etc.
Our biggest disappointment with this place however is the property manager. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. We were told to contact her for needs regarding our stay but she got testy because we had called her on a Sunday morning. She was also unsympathetic when one of the problems I related to her was one of the guest beds had broken. She merely dismissed that complaint and told our friend to sleep in the other bed, without showing even a bit of concern. Worst of all, she even showed up at the house later to continue to be rude to the point of insulting me and my family.
Meg the owner was really good to work with and I would recommend this place only if you interact with Meg and not the property manager, unless she has a new one.

In terms of your concerns, I responded to your texts and calls as soon as I received them and worked to address all of your concerns immediately. The property manager came over to the house to try to resolve the issue with the bed. I am very sorry that you had a negative interaction with her as it is important to both of us that guests have a great experience while staying at the house.

FANTASTIC HOME IN GREAT LOCATION!

Great home for a family vacation! We were two couples with two children and the house was sufficiently large. The house and property were exactly as described, incredibly clean and well maintained. The baby gates and high chairs were greatly appreciated as we did not have to worry about bringing our own. Off street parking for two vehicles was also a HUGE bonus for our two families! Home is situated in a beautiful neighbourhood with easy access to public transportation. Meg, the owner, was quick to respond to emails and made planning our stay incredibly easy by providing lots of information about the neighbourhood and making plenty of suggestions of places to visit and shop. Without any hesitation, we would recommend this property. In fact, we are already looking forward to our next visit.
