My famliy and I are originally from Florida and are naturally drawn to the water and boating. But the spectacular beauty of WA, has us hooked. Coupeville and our home speaks to these two very different settings-to be able to have water views and go boating under the backdrop of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains is truly stunning.
We love all the outdoor activities Whidbey Island has to offer, but even more the family memories we have made just relaxing in our home.
We chose Coupeville for its charm and seaside feel. My husband grew up in coastal CT and the town itself really reflects this past. To feel so far away, yet only an hour and half from downtwon Seattle was also a big draw for us. We love Ebey's Landing and think Deception Pass is one of the prettiest places we have ever seen.
Our home is 2 blocks from historic downtown Coupeville, allowing us convenience, yet the home itself is so quaint and hsitoric we feel miles from anywhere, like we have stepped back in time. The access to the boat ramp and public park across the street have been very helpful. We love taking our coffee and dog early in the morning down to the waterfront and strolling on the beach.
We loved the cute cottage. The views were great, the booth in the kitchen was a wonderful gathering spot. The house had plenty of room and lots of games and books to use.
Unfortunately, while this is a nice house with a good view in a good location in Coupeville, I cannot recommend renting from the owner as she engages in dishonest business practices. We had agreed on a base price per night plus a cleaning fee. Unfortunately, I overpaid via VRBO. When I made a spreadsheet with the math showing the owner that she owed me $140 based on the number of nights I stayed and the agreed upon fees, she refused to pay it back despite multiple requests. I had to submit the issue to VRBO with an undetermined resolution.
This lovely, beachside home was perfect for our large group. The house was comfortable and kitchen well-equipped. Thank you, Suzanne!
Great location. A little disappointed with furniture in the living room , the pictures had leather love seats and the furniture in the LR was shabby. Not just shabby but holes and torn sofa covers. The one couch was low to ground and on wheels. Not sure what that was about ... The coffee machine had a dirty coffee filter was and moldy. There was a Brita water filter pitcher that was dirty. I had expected the kitchen to be better maintained. No washcloths. Linens to dry dishes. 1 linen.
No wine glasses or wine opener. ( i expected a well stocked kitchen) ??
Towels were thin and well used. 2 washcloths and maybe 5 towels for the entire house. The house is supposed to sleep nine??? Hot water was minimal , there was only 3 of us and we had to stagger showers.
Very disappointed in the small things .
Adequate but disappointed.
We arrived here to stay while daughter was getting married at nearby location. We gathered with relatives from out of town and provided overnight care for the dogs who were to be in the wedding party (best dog and dog of honor). What a peaceful place to enjoy the company and wind down after rehearsal dinner and set up from the day before the wedding. Loved having the water nearby for relatives who do not have this experience in their home settings.
Worked good for our annual golf trip. House was reasonably equipped and ready to use. Bathroom could use some updates, but the rest of the cottage was nice. Great location if you are there to explore Coupeville. Owners made it easy to check in/out. Price was reasonable. Thanks again.
