|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
This villa blends nature and luxury to give you a true tropical life-style vacation. Enjoy spectacular views from the great room with floor to ceiling windows opening to the Park and Ocean, and the pool in the foreground. The many terraces and suites flow to create options for comfortable outdoor living or air-conditioned indoor living, sustainably.
Enjoy the great room and rooftop terrace for gathering as a family or group, along with the privacy of several master-style suites for sleeping, each with views and unique tropical decor. Rent just the right-sized space for your family or group by letting us quote just the rooms you need.
Choose cooking and dining indoors in the great room or alfresco on the rooftop terrace with our covered outdoor kitchen, fully equipped. Or, a chef can prepare a gourmet meal for you in either space. You always have a table with a view.
Our location offers a short walk to the park, beaches, stores and restaurants. Wildlife is abundant here.
A multi-level design affords ocean and rain forest views from all rooms and spaces. The Bird of Paradise Suite with its terrace is on the first level. Up from there, the main level includes the great room, kitchen, the Surf Suite and Monkey Room. The Hibiscus Suite, with balcony, is above the great room. The uppermost level has the rooftop terrace, outdoor kitchen, and Canopy Suite. There is access between the great room area and the upper level, by both interior and exterior stairs, so all the areas flow together.
This villa is unique in the Manuel Antonio area in its sustainable features. We make use of natural resources by using the sun to heat the water, dry the clothes, and even cool the house by evaporation. When electricity is used, it comes first from our solar panels, then the local utilities. You'll still have the luxury of all the usual comforts while feeling good about having a minimal carbon footprint vacation.
A car is not necessary for guests who enjoy walking. The walk up our street is about 300 yards to the main road. From there, the National Park and its beaches are to the right, downhill, about a mile. Or go left and select from our great surfing beach or another calm white sand snorkeling beach and kayaking bay, each about a half mile. Our home is about 360 feet above sea level. Ask us to email our PDF local map and walking guide!
A grocery store and many restaurant options are nearby on the walkable, level main road. Select from local, North American, Asian fusion, and Caribbean cuisine, some with live music and big screen sports bars. Enjoy great steaks and seafood, or opt for pizza and hot dogs or vegetarian dishes, soups and sandwiches. Choices range from romantic and pricey to family style—or hire a local chef to prepare a meal to remember right in the villa!
Wildlife is abundant on our property and surrounding our property. While we cannot guarantee what wildlife you may see during your stay, this is a list of the kinds of species which have been observed on our property, and which you might encounter. Capuchin Monkeys, Titi Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, Sloths, Cotamundi, Jaguarundi, Raccoons, Porcupines, Mot Mot Birds, Toucans, Hummingbirds, Kiskadees, Wild Parrots, Wild Canaries, Iguanas, Jesus Christ Lizards, Frogs of various types and colors including chameleon frogs, Blue Morpho Butterlies, Geckos, a variety of “glow in the dark” insects, including fireflies.
Our family lived in this house from 2003-2011. Once we reached the empty nest stage, we relocated to the US to be closer to family and started vacation rentals in our house. Yet, we still enjoy family vacations there.
This is a home with wonderful family memories, children growing into adults, holidays, and visits with many family friends and extended family including grandparents.
It's well suited for multi-generational groups or multiple families.
We hope your family and friends, whoever you vacation make many great memories in our home as well.
Camille Banham purchased this villa in 2003
The attractions of the Manuel Antonio area combine almost everything a tourist comes to Costa Rica for. There are gorgeous beaches, lots of wildlife varieties, and all water sports and activities. Inland are mountains, waterfalls, and rivers. A wide variety of activities is available to take these in such as whitewater rafting, horseback riding, ATV tours, Canopy Tours, hiking and more. It's all here in this one location.
We love being able to walk to a choice of several first class restaurants, or to the store or the bank. A car is not needed.
Besides our location and amazing views, this is the most sustainable vacation rental in Manuel Antonio. We've installed solar panels, solar water heating, natural clothes drying and natural evaporative cooling features to assist the air conditioning. This allows for a luxurious and comfortable vacation experience in the topics while keeping costs down and caring for the environment.
Our families will always remember our wonderful week spent at Mirador Magnifico.
Thank you Cindy and Jim for sharing your wonderful home with others to see the beauty of Manuel Antonio. What a beautiful place!
Many thanks also to Alberto and Monica--thanks for all your assistance and you make the stay even more enjoyable.
May the next family enjoy this home as much as we did. We hope to return soon.
The house was beautiful, and was a great location for seeing monkeys and a sloth right there from the balcony. The view from the house is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were nice, some definitely more so than others, though. And expect bugs inside the house and ants in the kitchen, as you might expect when living in the rainforest. It wasn't bad, just plan on it and keep most of your food in the ref ridge. Alberto (the property manager) was very nice and helpful, booked a tour for us and even took us to the farmer's market in Quepos for fresh fish and produce. Monica our housekeeper was wonderful and she came every day to clean the kitchen and do laundry. She even showed us how to make starfruit juice! My only disappointment was that the house was not very walkable to the beaches or park entrance like it says on the website and some reviews. My family and I are in excellent shape, but to walk along the main road that leads to the beaches or park was NOT safe at all because there is no space for walking and you have to literally dodge cars. And it took WAY longer than it claims on the website. You can walk to some shops, cafes and a little grocery store (which is expensive even by US standards, so beware), but not to any of the main sites or beaches in the area. Sure, you can take the local bus or a taxi, but we chose this house based on walking distance as the description/website promises ... and was disappointed to find it wasn't walkable like we thought. Besides that everything else was accurate as mentioned and we had a great time. We loved Playa Biesanz (the local tico beach) but again don't plan on walking, at least not on the way back as it's quite challenging and long. And Manuel Antonio Beach inside the park is gorgeous. One tip: hire a guide for the park as you might not see any animals otherwise. Also, eat at Cafe Agua Azul, it was amazing! And very close to the street where the house is located. The people there were so nice and the food was delicious.
We planned this vacation a year ago, due to the fact that there were ten of us going, that took some organization! El Mirador Magnifico met all our expectations and more! What an incredible home and vacation spot!
Alberto and Monica enhanced our stay by catering to our every need.
Monica cleaned up after us, cooked, washed and always had a smile to give!
Alberto couldn't do enough for us, whatever we needed or had questions about, he delivered! Alberto and Monica cooked us an authentic Costa Rican meal that was to die for! Thank you!
Guy came and cooked for us as well and we highly recommend him! Excellent! Thank you Guy!
The rooms were all unique and well apointed with plenty of room for all of us even when we wanted/needed some space!
The monkey visits were so much fun, they are a kick!
We went zip lining, para sailed, toured Manuel Antonio Park, went on a cataraman cruise that included snorkling and dinner and kayaked the mangroves!
Each one was very fun, educational and appreciated. The guides were all very knowledgable and friendly.
The beach is beautiful, the water clear and warm, the weather couldn't have been better!
It was fun and easy to ride the bus around, the resturants were in walking distance and very good!
The Costa Rican people were so friendly, kind, helpful, we really felt welcomed!
Thank you for such a wonderful vacation!

This is my second visit to Mirador Magnifico and it has not changed but improved.
The property manager, Alberto is there to help you with any tours or visits to the area. The house is well equipped and the beds very comfortable. Fabulous views front the various levels of the house. And it is safe. Clean, well kept and modern.
The owner is friendly and informative.
If you are interested in tours, we found a great tour guide, Mario with Jade Tours. He brings to the tours a passion for seeking out all the animals for you to see. We highly recommend him
I would recommend this house to singles and families.
Good restaurants & coffee house near by- walking distance
The house was ideal for all of us. Lovely view, amenities and best of all service by Alberto the concierge . Everything he told us was right on. He set up tours, restaurant reservations, and airport transportation and our food list was at the house when arrived. Daily entertainment was provided by the monkeys at the pool! I would defiantly return.
We stayed a week at this home. The house was beautiful and very big. Lots of room to spread out and everyone was able to have their own room if they wanted. Also well decorated, very colorful. The pool was nice, overlooked the ocean and a great way to cool off after a day of adventures. The views are amazing. Having Alberto to help us make plans, reservations, and book tours was very helpful.
I give this home 5 stars and if we visit again I would have no issues staying here again. But a few notes about the home: 1) We were there at the start of the rainy season, the good news is i only rained at night, but when it rained it rained hard! Make sure you check when you are staying because your vacation could be ruined if you come at the height of the rainy season 2) There were some leaks in the home from the heavy rains, hopefully they have been fixed 3) We did not have a car, and it is a little bit of uphill hike to the road, tough on my older parents who came with us. We got to where we just called a cab to the house, find a nice taxi driver and get their card, they will take you anywhere, we even had to go to the emergency room late one night and our driver took us and helped us get through the process! 4) The Monkeys will visit the house.... they are fun to watch, we fed them, but do not try and get too close, some are a little aggressive and they did hiss and growl at us!
Manuel Antonio was a great place to visit, lots of fun on adventures esp. zip lining and the beach. Also many great and very good places to eat, the food even on the trips was very good.
We chose Costa Rica as the place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, along with our kids and grands - 9 in all, aged 3 years to 73. We picked the Manuel Antonio area because it offers so many different activities from zip-lining to surf lessons all less than an hour away. Mirador Magnifico is a fantastic home, but what makes it even better is the wonderful staff!! Alberto was invaluable in arranging transportation, tours, groceries - anything we asked for, including printing our boarding passes for return flights! Monica was wonderful, as well, keeping the kitchen sparkling, doing laundry and making sure we had plenty of beach towels. We also had 3 meals prepared for us by Chef Guy, which were absolutely delicious - highly recommend. All in all, an amazing vacation!
It's a short walk to beaches, restaurants, stores, bus stops and the park. The villa is located on a quiet street with exclusively vacation rental villas, a side street on the ocean side of the main road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. The property is located about one mile from the entrance to Manuel Antonio Park, the gem of Costa Rica's national park system. The park is known for its abundance of wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, and more. The local beaches are pristine, and offer swimming, surfing, kayaking etc., or just relax and take in the natural beauty of the area. This area is unique in combining everything the traveler expects in Costa Rica with the combination of ocean and jungle. The area of Manuel Antonio and Quepos offers first class restaurants, tours and services.
Other Activities: Zipline, ATV Tours, Dolphin Watching, SCUBA, kayaking
