Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

This charming 1000 square foot cottage is quaint, welcoming and exceptionally clean. Come sit on the back decks and enjoy over 200’ of private creek frontage, cook hot dogs and marshmallow at the campfire, or sit on the double swing overlooking our two small waterfalls and relax on a half acre of frontage on Hickory Creek. We like to boast that we have one of the best view of the Creek and Hickory Nut Gorge and surrounding mountains. Discover the magic of Hickory Nut Gorge and Chimney Rock!

Chimney Rock Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or small gatherings of up to 6 people. The Cottage has one king-size bed, a double bed in the second bedroom, a queen-size sofa bed in living room, a Franklin stove with gas logs, Window Unit A/C, Washer and Dryer, fully equipped kitchen (except no dishwasher), televisions, DVD players and outdoor grill.

Guests love to share breakfast on the deck at the intimate Creekside table for 2 and watch the sun dance over the small double waterfalls below. There's also a larger outdoor picnic table for additional seating. Beyond the deck, an inviting boardwalk beckons you to enjoy nature's playground of over half an acre of shady woods and creek frontage in a park-like setting. The crystal clear waters of Hickory Nut Creek are perfect for wading, fishing or just splashing around to cool off after a hot day. The less adventuresome can laze away the day in the hammock, lulled to sleep by the rushing water sounds of the creek, just a stone's throw away. In the evenings, it's a cottage tradition to gather around the fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and sharing a picnic supper down by the creek.

We would also highly recommend that you visit Chimney Rock State Park for hiking and the town of Chimney Rock for gem mining, shopping, eating, especially ice cream, which are only a 3 minute drive from the cottage; Asheville, only 20 miles from the cottage is fantastic for shopping, dining and entertainment. Charming Hendersonville also has a quaint f=downtown and variety of shopping, dining and entertainment and is a quick 15 minute drive. Explore too while you are here the beautiful Lake Lure a 7 minute drive with 360 degree panorama views, fine dining, a manmade beach and water slide, rent a boat or bring your own and of course fishing.

Finally, after a full day exploring this beautiful area, fall asleep at the end of the day to the sounds of rushing Hickory Nut Creek which can be heard from every room in the cottage. As our guests often note at the end of their stay, "Chimney Rock Cottage was all you said it would be . . . and more."

I would highly recommend this property for a vacation rental. The home was clean, cozy, and provided everything we needed.
We so enjoyed the French Broad river that provided constant background music! We actually spent most of our time on the deck.
I must also mention that the beds were the best that my friend and I ever slept on away from home!
Be sure and stop in at the Slide Rock Emporium for your shopping! They offered a unique selection of items, many of which were locally made. We enjoyed this store much more than any we saw in Asheville!
The owner was great to get back to us when we had questions.
This was a great place for two old friends to reconnect and spend hours talking on the deck. I can also imagine a family with children would also enjoy this property, with the river to play in, and a spacious area for fires and cooking out.
My only recommendation would be a separate trash receptacle for recycling.
I hope to come back with my family sometime!

Peaceful, beautiful vacation!

We stayed at the creekside cabin for 3 days and 3 nights and we enjoyed every second! The cabin was better than described and was so quaint & comfortable. The best part was that it was RIGHT on the creek! We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying listening to the water. The fire pit and seating outside were great too. We had several campfires along the creek. The cabin itself was very clean and cozy. Its just a few minutes from Chimney Rock State Park, the cute downtown, and Lake Lure. We enjoyed all the attractions during the day and rested along the creek in the evenings. Perfect place! Jerry was very helpful and answered questions quickly. Highly recommend this place! We will definitely be going back :)

The beauty of the cabin and water

The beauty of the cabin is enhanced by the spectacular waterfalls in the creek, right outside the backdoor. Thank you for everything you did in preparation for our arrival! The cabin is our favorite place to be.

My family and I went up for the Thanksgiving holiday. I have to say the cabin was much more than I expected. It had a very homey feel to it.Not like just staying at someone else's place the way it normally does.Was great sitting on the porch in the morning and listening to the creek. Had company over and let the little ones cook hotdogs and somore's over open fire.Was far enough away to not be too far but also feel like you were in the country.My husband and I will be returning in the spring/summer to enjoy the warmer weather and do a little more sightseeing as unfortunately I was siick most of the stay.Again....would highly recommend to couples or families as it accomodated my huisband and I as well as our 3 grown kids!!!

I adore this cabin. Everything is beautiful both inside and out. Everything we needed was here, even the coffee ( which I was the only who drinks it! haha)Thank you for allowing our family to stay here over Thanksgiving. I have never seen the mountains before and I absolutely loved them! This cabin added to this amazing experience. My next goal is to come here during the summer. I bet the creek is a blast. Overall the land and the structure of this house was to die for. Thanks again!
