We would like to invite you to spend a relaxing vacation in our home. We currently live in the house 5 months of the year and we rent it the other 7 months. Completely furnished and includes everything you can think of. Downstairs you will find the master suite w/full bath and a child's room with a separate full bath. Upstairs is another large bedroom with a queen size bed and a half bath.

The house has geothermal heat and air conditioning. We also have a library of a few hundred VHS tapes available for your use. There is also cable and Wi-Fi and a stereo. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. There are also some of my son's toys (4 years old) made available for your children to play with.

The backyard has a brick patio, gas grill, and fire pit. If you have children, there is a wooden play set. The backyard is completely fenced in for small children.

Stay here and you will want to return year after year!

Our house is in the heart of Lancaster County and is conveniently located to serve as a jumping off spot for all of your vacation needs. It is 15 minutes from historic downtown Lancaster with its farmer's market, the Fulton Opera house and the Lancaster Convention center. For the shopper, 20 minutes away are world-renowned outlet malls. Near these malls is the heart of Lancaster's Pennsylvania Dutch Country with the Old Order Amish, their horse and buggy travel and plain dress contrasting starkly with the modern world. On Tuesday you can drive to Root's Country market (15 minutes) for local produce and the adjacent Conestoga Auction house to buy antiques at dealer prices. For more antiques, you can drive to the Adamstown area (30 minutes) to check out over 3,000 dealers in a three mile area.

If you have children (or you're a child at heart), Hershey Park is only 50 minutes away. For the historically oriented, the National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia is only 15 minutes away and the Gettysburg battlefield is an 1 hour and 20 minutes drive. For the railroad enthusiast, a 20 minute drive will bring you to Historic Strasburg where you will find the Strasburg Railroad, the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, The Train Collector's of America Museum and the world famous Choo-Choo Barn with it's 1500 square foot operating train layout.

About Jeanne Blaettler

My husband and I are now retired and we spend the summer months in the state of Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. We also have a 6 year old son whom we will be homeschooling starting this year with kindergarten. While we are out west, we wanted to be able to share our home with others while trying to earn extra income to supplement our retirement. We home that anyone visiting our home gets as much enjoyment out of it as we do.

Why Jeanne Blaettler chose Lancaster

We purchased our home in 2008 and did a major remodel on this house. We took the then 3 car garage and built a new master suite and master bath and then added a new mud room and new garage on the other side of the house. We also completely rebuilt the kitchen, had all new flooring installed and refinished the hardwood flooring in the dining room and living room. We updated most of the wiring and also installed new geothermal heating and air conditioning. In the end we realized that we should have just built a new house, but at least we have the house exactly the way we want it (more or less).

  • Master has a huge walk in shower and his and her vanities. It is equipped with handicap bars at the toilet and also in the shower. There is a separate flex shower head that is handicap accessible. The toilet is elongated and is at comfort height with comfort height vanities. The second full bath has one vanity at comfort height. There is a step stool for a child's use. The toilet is elongated and also at comfort height. The half bath on the upper level has a vanity and a toilet that is elongated and also at comfort height.

The master bath is also equipped with grab bars and a separate flexible shower head. Also on the main floor is a child's bedroom with a single bed. It has a TV with a DVD/VHS and a collection of kid's VHS movies and toys. Upstairs you will find another large bedroom with a queen size bed. It has a TV and also a DVD/VHS player plus a radio. This room is a nice, quiet retreat from the rest of the house.

Beautiful Home with great space for adults and children! We vacationed there with 4 adults, a toddler and an infant. Kitchen was awesome as was the backyard space to enjoy a little fresh air. The location was good..just a bit of travel to get to the Lancaster/Intercourse areas. Convenient stores nearby for groceries and eating out! Would recommend for comparable sized families! The only caution was the step down into the Master bedroom. I took a pretty bad fall since I had items in my hands and didn't see the step on our first day of vacation! Fortunately it didn't seem to cause anything major! Despite this would highly recommend:)

Great vacation rental

I rented this house for a long weekend getaway with my parents. The entire house was very neat and clean. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The living area and dining room had plenty of space for the four of us to spread out. The first floor master bedroom and bath was a great plus since we were travelling with someone who could not climb a flight of stairs. We cooked breakfast and one dinner and found that the kitchen was fully equiped with everything that we needed for the stay.

We will stay here again the next time we are in Lancaster.

The house was very nice and big enough that we could "spread out" and be comfortable. My daughters loved the play set outside! It was quiet being on a small side street, yet close enough to shopping, restaurants and attractions in Lancaster. I wasn't expecting to have to do laundry, when we paid a cleaning fee, but other than that, our stay was good.
Owner's Response: We are glad that you had a nice and relaxing getaway and that the children enjoyed our son's play set. As for the laundry, it is protocol to have the guests "start" a load of laundry, as it aides the cleaning people to be able to get the home turned around in the 5 hours that is allotted before the next guests check in. We have been using house rentals for the past 6 years and never thought twice about having to start a load of laundry. This is also the first time that anyone has mentioned this since we starting renting out three of our homes.
