The old house is built in Istrian style. Long ago, the cobbler of the town used to live and work here. The house is very close to the historical church square and belongs to ‘Stari Grad’, ‘The Old City’. From the garden terrace with outdoor grill, as well as from the balconies of the new building, you have a wonderful view upon the undulating vineyards up to the sea, which is about 8 km away. Especially guests, looking for peace and quietness will enjoy the 6 x 12 m large pool, which is surrounded by a wooden terrace with deck chairs and outdoor shower. The house and the garden are maintained by a house keeper, who is daily present for some hours. The house manager is from German and speaks german, english, french, russian, and lives next door, the owner lives in Porec, but comes over to greet and welcome the guests. Both have many insider’s tips and suggestions for special trips and festivals that take place in Istria in the summertime.

The studio comfortably accommodates up to 3 people. It has a double bed in the sleeping area and a couch bed in the living area. The bathroom has a bathing tub and a WC. The studio also has a kitchenette with coffee maker and dinnerware, silverware and toaster, fume hood. Air conditioning/ heating on request.Towels and linen are inclusive, as well as the TV.

Višnjan is a picturesque village, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and old pine trees. It is located in the middle of a wonderful nature, among the most beautiful places in Istria, between the mountain town Motovun and the port Porec. Novigrad and the other bathing resorts with beautiful cliffy pebble beaches are also easy to reach. The tourist centers along the seashore offer a variety of leisure activities. In Visnjan, you will find peace and tranquillity. Grocery stores, a butcher’s, a bank, a medical center, dentists, pharmacies, post and a restaurant, as well as 2 cafés make the town independent from the other tourist towns along the coast. Višnjan is internationally known thanks to its observatories and astronomers. There are daily bus connections to Porec, Rovinj, Pula, Rijeka, Koper and Triest. Coming from Koper on the new highway “Istarski Y“, you can reach the drive Visnjan in around 30 minutes. Within the same time you can reach Pula.

Google Earth: You can check the location of Villa Visnjan on Google Earth. Visnjan is not registered as a location yet, but enetr Porec and go north-east searching for 45'16'32.05 N - 13'43'08.90 E.

Getting to Visnjan: Pula airport has flights from London, Dublin, and Edinburgh etc. is 53 km away. Ryanair, Flyglobespan e.o. enable this connection through the whole summer. Several other airports served by low cost carriers are within reasonable driving distance, Triest over the border in Italy (Ryanair - Stansted, Frankfurt) 90 minsute drive, Rijeka (Easyjet -Luton, Bristol, HLX- Stuttgart, Munich, Hannover, Cologne, Leipzig) about a 60 minute drive, Ljubljana (Easyjet- London Stansted, Wizz-Brussels) about a 120 minute drive as well as Venice. You can rent cars at all airports, in Italy or Slovenija make sure that you have permission to travel to Croatia.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub. Die Villa ist
super gepflegt und liegt in einen kleinen urigem Ort, weg vom Hotel-Tourismus. Ausflugsmöglichkeiten sind reichlich gegeben. Wir freuen uns schon aufs nächste Mal.

All unsere Wünsche haben sich an die Unterkunft, an den Ort, an das Land und den Menschen erfüllt. Ein rundum schönes Paket!
Von der Buchung bis zum Abschied vor Ort hat alles geklappt und das völlig unproblematisch und organisiert! ;-)
Ich empfehle das Land und die Unterkunft gerne weiter. Und dann auch unbedingt in der Neben- bzw. Nachsaison. Wir waren keine Nummer unter hunderten Touristen. In der Umgebung bzw. im Umkreis von 50km gibt es soviel zu erkundschaften (mit PKW) und das alles bei durchschnittlich 25 Grad (stellenweise sogar mehr wie 30 Grad).
Also auf nach Kroatien/ Istrien in die Villa!

Das Haus liegt Mitten in einem kleinen Ort Istriens (Visnjan). Man erlebt das unverfälschte Leben dieses Ortes. Die Wohnungen und das Umfeld wie Terasse und Pool werden täglich gepfleg. Die Besitzer sind sehr nett und kümmern sich liebevoll um die Gäste und ihre Bedürfnisse.
Das Schöne an diesem Ort ist, dass er (noch) nicht vom Toursimus entdeckt ist. Der Ausblick von der Wohnung in die Landschaft ist traumhaft - überall Grün und am Horizont das Meer.
Sehr zu empfehlen für Menschen, die wirklich ausspannen und doch nicht ganz einsam sein wollen. Der Ort selbst hat keine "Attraktionen" - und ist gerade deshalb interessant und autherntisch. Ein guter Stützpunkt für Ausflüge ins Hinterland und an die Küste.

Dieses Haus samt Umgebung verdient ausschließlich Superlative. Es ist wunderschoen, ruhig, gemuetlich - der perfekte Ort für abwechslungsreiche Entspannung jenseits von überfuellten Hotelbunkern. Wir zaehlen schon die Tage, bis wir wiederkommen koennen.
Owner's Response: - in diesem Jahr wird es noch schöner werden, denn dann ist der Rasen grün und die Bäume etwas höher!
