When considering a visit to the Outer Banks or Historic Roanoke Island why not stay in a private "One of a kind" cottage in the heart of Old Town Manteo. Magnolia Cottage is an exquite 3 bedroom, 2 bath vacation rental with magnificent chandeliers, a beautiful mantle over the lovely fireplace, gorgeous comfortable furnishings and a complete list of modern conveniences. Magnolia Cottage has been featured in Coastal Living, Virginia Pilot and Coastland Times.

You will enter your "cottage away from home" through the white picket fences surrounding the property. Walk up onto the covered wrap around front porch, and there you will find wicker porch furniture for relaxing and getting the feel of Old Town Manteo. For more relaxation, you will find an outside patio under a rose covered pergola for grilling and dining. All of these magnificent porches and patios overlook exquisite Elizabethan style gardens with roses, boxwood hedges, and lovely concrete planters and benches positioned throughout.

Upon entering the sunny vestibule, you will find the comfy living room featuring an entertainment center with cable TV and DVD. Overstuffed sofas surround the space for your comfort and enjoyment in front of the gas fireplace.

The bright kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, hard surface counters, and complete supplies including Havilland china. You will be completely at home with the all of the utensils needed for a large meal or just a quick breakfast before your day of exploring the Island. The lovely dining room welcomes your family for meals or a fun round of board games (included).

There are three large bedrooms featuring comfortable beds to accomodate up 6 guests including high end linens and comfy pillows. Each bedroom looks onto the beautiful cottage gardens of Magnolia Cottage. The master suite with full bath is located on the first floor of the Cottage. The lovely master features a romantic king size bed. There are two quaint bedrooms on the second floor with a charming full bath situated between the bedrooms. The first upstairs room is furnished with a beautiful old fashioned queen size bed. The second adorable bedroom with dormer windows features a cozy queen bed over looking the gardens

Magnolia Cottage is within walking distance to the Historic Manteo waterfront, where there are quaint shops, tasty restaurants, bookstores, museums and parks. You will find many childrens activities at the waterfront. Roanoke Island Festival park with the historic Elizabethian Ship is just across a walking bridge. We are close to world class marinas for in and off shore fishing charters.

This was our first trip to Outer Banks and I had high expectations, I have always wanted to go so we originally scheduled our trip for last Oct. 2012, the same week Hurricaine Sandy made the trip on the East Coast. We changed our plans to the spring of 2013 and right before we were to leave we had three family emergencies so devestating we could not leave on the planned date. I was about to give up that we would ever make this trip but Sharon was understanding and amazing in helping us re schedule, she was wonderful! I didn't think I could enjoy this trip with my family's loss, but as soon as we arrived to this welcoming, immaculate cottage I smiled. Amazingly for the rest of our stay we enjoyed every day and all the beauty and charm that is Outer Banks and Manteo and the surrounding Islands all so close. Unlike most vacations I enjoyed just being at the cottage and having coffee on the front porch. I hated to leave, the trip was everything I thought it would be and more! I look forward to returning!

Very sweet, romantic, immaculate restored home with three bedrooms and two baths. Put anyone elderly on spacious first floor bedroom/bath suite and there's still plenty of room in two upstairs bedrooms. This home will appeal to your feminine side and to anyone seeking a romantic or just girly updated Victorian setting. This home combines rich visual history and modern updates with skill. Fresh ideas and best creative decorating I've ever seen in a vacation rental and I used to manage vacation rentals! And walk to old town shops, restaurants and waterfront...just blocks away.

We thoughly enojoyed everything about our stay: the location (walking distance to Manteo waterfront), the comprehensive facilities (patios, BBQ, washing/drying machines, TV, WiFi etc), the prettiness (house, garden). It was ideal for a group of 5, and immaculate on arrival. The owner was very helpful both before and during our stay. We would happily have stayed for a few more days and are already discussing another trip in 2014.

An enchanting escape

While the warm weather decided to go on a vacation as well leaving chilly temps behind, we found the cottage a cozy and inviting respite from our daily grind. Everything we needed was accessible, including the china tea set which we used daily! The garden was enchanting and provided a lovely backdrop to afternoon reading (nestled under a blanket) and tea. We fought the winds and utilized the bikes to take in the quaint downtown shoppes and eateries. We'll definitely consider the Magnolia Cottage again.

Magnolia Cottage could not have been more perfect for our family group of 6 adults. Attention to detail is an understatement! Spacious but cozy, bright and clean, flawless 'cottage decor', great kitchen too. We rented the cottage as we had a wedding to attend in Manteo, but it was easy to access all the wonderful sights and activities that the Outer Banks have to offer. We would highly recommend Magnolia Cottage as a 'Picture Perfect' retreat for anyone wanting to explore Manteo and the Outer Banks.
