Philadelphia Townhome Rental Photos and Description

Townhome, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Located within walking distance to the renowned shops, and restaurants of Main Street Manayunk, the 'Home with a View' is close to Philadelphia's many historical sites, major universities, and museums. The Liberty Bell and Valley Forge are equally accessible. Major transportation venues such as bus, rail, and highway, are easily reached.

Make use of the professionally designed kitchen or use the grill and relax on the deck. Breakfast is especially nice outside in the morning sun. Getting supplies is easy as a full size supermarket is about a 5 minute walk or one minute by car.

Nearby Main Street features art festivals and bike races as well as great restaurants and shopping. Fireworks on the Fourth of July and New Year’s Day are visible from the deck or upstairs bedroom. On a clear day one can see the RCA Tower in New Jersey. Situated at the peak of Manayunk, the Ben Franklin Bridge and views of the Philadelphia Skyline are almost always visible.

The three bedrooms contain a comfortable queen size sleigh bed, a full size guest bed, and a thick futon which provides a restful sleep for two full size adults.

If it’s a cheesesteak you want, nearby Dalessandro’s is considered one of the best in the city. Chubby’s across the street from Dalessandro’s, made the cover of Philadelphia Magazine rated as the best chicken- cheesesteak in the city.

Come and enjoy your stay and be near everything Philadelphia has to offer.

We hope you enjoy our warm and friendly home which we had lived in for over 15 years. We chose this house because of location. It is close to everything we enjoy about Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A trip to center-city to attend the Philadelphia Orchestra, Ballet or Theater takes 15-20 minutes. It's the same distance to the convention center and the historical sights. Mass transit is just steps away from the front door. Great shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

What many people don't know is that Philadelphia is home to the nation's largest park: Fairmount Park. A walk down nearby Forbidden Drive with a stop at the Valley Green is simply romantic.

We love Philly and everything it has to offer, but we also enjoy the nearby Pocono Mountains (where I worked as a whitewater rafting guide, we enjoyed the fall foliage tours, and occasionally ski trip. The Atlantic City expressway will take you to the Jersey Shore in about the same amount of time. So come and enjoy our city, the history, the mountains, the shore and everything in between.

Philadelphia is a vibrant and historic city. From our home with a view one can easily visit the world renowned Philadelphia Museum of Art and run up the 'Rocky' steps. Equally close is the Franklin Institute and the Academy of Natural Sciences/Natural History. The nation's first zoo and foremost primate center is just as accessible. Many of these places are visible looking out the back window. or standing on the deck. Philadelphia has many 'Bring Your Own Bottle' Restaurants which makes dining out pleasurable and affordable. Call me for some of my favorites.

A well appointed kitchen and deck make dining in or entertaining pleasurable. From the deck one can see the Philadelphia skyline including the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Manyaunk has many special events and the home is located 1/2 block from the most exciting turn in the Manayunk BIke Race, featuring world class racers. The Eco-Arts festival in the fall and the Arts festival in the Spring attract upwards of 100,000 to Manayunk.

'Home with a View' is located on a quiet street in the safest neighborhood in the tri-state area. With its great restaurants, shopping, and its proximity to Center-City and multiple transportation venues, the Manayunk Neighborhood is a great place to stay when visiting Philadelphia.

Perfect location for a quick Philly trip

  • 5 of 5
Stayed at this house with family while in Philly for business. Thanks to the owners for the warm hospitality and breakfast fixings.

The house was in a great location with plenty of space for all. We enjoyed walking to the fabulous restaurants in Manyunk each evening. The Kelly Drive ride into Philly from the house was quick and easy with the added benefit of being next to the water and row houses.

Definitely the spot if you are looking for a home versus a hotel!

the house was just what we were looking for in a home base for a busy 10 days in philly, there were 8 (6 adults and two minors) of us and we had plenty of room to relax and visit on the front porch or on the back deck...... the house was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Excellent location for visiting area gardens

  • 5 of 5
Believe the property description!--this house is clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The owner and property manager were as helpful as could be and the location could not have been more convenient. Easy highway access made our visits to Longwood Gardens, Chanticleer, Winterthur, and the Morris Arboretum simple as pie. We also went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art--one of the world's greatest--and the Barnes Foundation--one of the world's most unusual--via Kelly Drive, a most pleasant road. If we'd had time we would have visited the John Bartram garden and the Japanese Tea House in Fairmount Park. And God knows what else. (We'll have to come back!)

We really enjoyed Manayunk as well. Very funky neighborhood with delightful restaurants; as a displaced Marylander, it was a treat to taste Blue Crabs again.

I would certainly recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit Philadelphia.

Great Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5
This was a perfect rental for our trip to Philadelphia. So much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. There was more than enough space for our family of 4. My teenage son took over the basement study room and loved having this space as his own. The house was very clean and comfortable and conveniently located. We loved being able to walk to Manayunk Main Street for restaurants and shopping. We also had dinner from the pizza place half a block away one night. It was easy to drive into the city. The owner was a pleasure to work with. He was very responsive to questions. I accidentally left some clothes at the house and went out of his way to ship them to my home very quickly. Judy the property manager was super helpful as well. She left breakfast for us, which was great as we arrived late at night. She also gave us tips for traffic and was very responsive to any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this rental.

Lovely Mid Oct stay

  • 4 of 5
I'd rate this 4.5 stars. Nicely appointed townhouse in a great funky neighborhood with lots of nice shops and restaurants nearby. 15 minute ride to downtown. Owner and property manager are very nice, very helpful and easy to work with. House was immaculate and very comfortable. Kitchen is well supplied if you want to cook. I stayed with 4 other guests and we'd stay here again. Price is very reasonable as well. Highly recommend it.

The home is 1/2 block from active bus routes and within walking distance to regional rail stops. Secure parking is available in the garage.

The home is equipped with Direct TV satellite television. The upstairs television has a built in DVD Player, while the downstairs TV has one attached.

The home offers an office/den with an all in one Printer, high speed copier, and laminator. The desk is designed for two people to work at comfortably. Parsons chairs could be turned around adding extra seating to view the 42' television.

There are four bikes in the garage (two off road bikes) which guests should feel free to use. As they often go long periods without use they may need air.
