Comet Place at 2 Pine Lodge is a new condo that has a gourmet kitchen, Adirondack decor, deluxe bathroom with jetted tub and separate shower, high speed Wi-Fi, 2 flat screen TVs, cable service, AC, a gas fireplace, and even a storage unit for snowshoes/skis/sleds/bikes/canoes/kayaks

Located in the heart of the town of Lake Placid, only 2 blocks from restaurants, boutiques, movie theater and a small park overlooking Mirror Lake, Comet Place even has a playground less than a block away! There is 1 dedicated parking spot in the front of the building and on-street parking. Complimentary, continuously running Village shuttle stop is less than a block away. There is a community grill in back of the building.

Comet Place at 2 Pine Lodge is located in a very quiet part of town that is a two block walk to the town and Mirror Lake. Whiteface Mountain is only 10 miles away. After a long day of skiing/hiking, come relax by the indoor gas fireplace or soak in the jetted tub while reading a book. Then take a short walk down to Main Street to eat at one of Lake Placid's many fine restaurants.

We are very accommodating.: If you need an early check-in and/or late check-out, just ask ahead of time! As long as there is no other rental on check-in or check-out days, we can be flexible. We do need at least four hours between rentals so that the condo can be thoroughly cleaned for the next occupants, so check-out time usually needs to be at 10 AM and check-in time at 4 PM..

There is absolutely no smoking indoors or within 50 feet of building. If it is found that a tenant has smoked indoors, a large extra cleaning fee will be assessed. Sorry, no pets allowed. Minimum stay is 3-days (per condo association rules), except during Iron Man, when it is a week and during the summer high season and the December holidays when the minimum stay is 5 days.

Condo association and insurance policies restrict the number of renters to no more than 6 people (including infants and children) at a time. There is a parking space in front of the building dedicated to the unit, with on-street parking available. There is also a laundromat about 6 blocks away that is next to the supermarket and is open 24 hours a day. It includes dry cleaning services, too.

Our local rental agent, Merrill Thomas, Inc. will confirm rates and issue a rental agreement and payment schedule. All stays require a $500 security deposit, which will be returned, less any damages to the property, if any (and we hope there won't be!) Merrill Thomas will also offer you optional travel insurance to protect you from cancellation.

Fees And Taxes

For stays of less than seven nights, there is an additional $125 cleaning fee. This fee is waived if you stay at least 7 nights.

For stays of seven or more nights, ask about rates for additional days.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Great condo with all the amenities and a short walk to the down town area of Lake Placid. We didn't want for anything. The condo is very comfortable and the beds we slept in were comfy. The kitchen is easy to use, the dishwasher is a nice touch! The upstairs bath is wonderful! I especially liked all the skylights so there was plenty of natural light. Warm days gave us lots of exploring time before settling in by the fire at night. Good restaurants, especially Ashley's for breakfast and the LP Boat Club for dinner. Still off season so there were no crowds!

My husband and I loved our stay at Comet Place! The Adirondack decor is perfectly charming and sets the tone for the area. The accommodations are warm and cozy with comfortable rooms and beds, a romantic fireplace and, of supreme importance to us, a well equipped kitchen. It felt like we we were staying in a cozy place that felt like home.

Lake Placid is located only 2 hours from Montreal, making it an ideal late winter getaway for us. We were able to go snow shoeing less than a mile from Comet Place, watch dog sleds on frozen Mirror Lake two blocks away, and sample locally produced maple syrup taffy on our stroll through town.

All in all, it was an excellent visit. We give it five stars and look forward to visiting again!

WOW, what a fantastic time we had here! Thank you for everything. We were from Quebec City and cannot wait to come back here at Lake Placid.(Hopefully the bobsled will be open next time.) Whiteface is a very nice ski hill! We loved the style of the house and the board games :)

Long Ski Weekend

My family and I had a great stay in your beautiful home! We came from NYC, Albany and DC and met here for a long ski weekend. It was nice to be able to cook together in your kitchen. Thanks for providing the basics! We also took advantage of the town's many dining options and liked that we were within walking distance.

It was such a comfortable weekend. We will definitely recommend to friends and if we ever come back to Lake Placid, we'd love to stay again! PS: The fireplace was a great touch!

Wonderful Winter Getaway

We had a wonderful winter getaway. Grandson and his friend spent 2 days snowboarding at Whiteface. We enjoyed watching. We also went to High Falls Gorge...well worth seeing and the people there were very nice. The condo was very accomodating. We had everything we needed. We thank the owners for sharing this unit with us.
