First of all its not near luxury at all, its a building beside a supermarket in a very narrow ally. The building was horrible and smelled terrible. We skipped this, no problem its just the "entrance" if you can call it an entrance. when we went to the what's called "penthouse," which was actually an apartment in the roof not nearly a penthouse, the door was widely open, we assumed that the owner left it open to welcome us as we thought the keys were inside " THERE WERE NO KEYS JUST A PASS CODE". When we first entered the apartment it was messy, bathrooms were used, bedrooms were messed up, jeans on the bed, underwear on the floor, it seemed like someone was actually living there. We called Roberto and told him what happened and that we couldn't stay a minute more. We locked the apartment and left, just to be told next day by Roberto that someone re-enterd the apartment even though we locked it before we leave. APARTMENT IS NOT SAFE

We spent all of our vacation in hotel which costed us double the amount, Of course they had to pay us back, but they didn't compensate us for the extra money we paid for the hotels for their mistake.

Owner's Response: We are very surprised by the guest’s bad review and although we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to him, we would like to stress that it is absolutely untrue with respect to the quality and safety conditions of the building and the apartment itself.

1) First, the apartment - as shown in the photos - is a gorgeous penthouse, located on Collins Ave next to “The Lords a 4 Star hotel, across the famous “Dream Luxury Boutique Hotel” and just behind Versace’s Mansion on Ocean Drive!

The apartment was fully renovated in 2013 by a famous Italian architect, has a beautiful terrace with partial ocean view and likewise the two hotels quoted before, it is located in a characteristic Art Deco building whose architecture makes Miami famous worldwide.

Second, the building is only 1 block (100 yards) from Ocean Drive, and next to the entrance there is a small market, which does not diminish in any way the area, the building or luxury hotels mentioned above, and is instead considered extremely useful by other guests.

Third, the building is super safe as the condo association pays the utmost attention to safety. In fact, the installation of a new surveillance system with 30 cameras to control of common areas was just terminated. This security system was near to completion when the incident occurred, and it would certainly be prevented.

The presence of a superintendent who daily monitors the building, also adds to the building safety.

Unfortunately, just before the guest’s arrival, someone got inside of the apartment through a window that was accidentally left open by the cleaning crew: this is something that never happened before and totally unpredictable. An unknown person illegally entered the building taking advantage of the renovations that were going on. Of course this is an exceptional event outside anyone’s control which can occur in any building or villa without this implying the location is unsafe.
Would you call Versace’s Mansion unsafe just because the owner was murdered on its entrance stair?

The episode which occurred before the guest’s arrival, would have implied just the cleaning of the apartment, however the guest has requested the immediate cancellation of the reservation and despite our assurances decided on its own initiative, not to overnight in the apartment, where he has not spent a single night.

Without hesitation, and outside of the signed lease terms, we also decided to return him the full amount of the rent paid.

In both daytime and at nightfall, the South Beach section of Miami Beach is a major entertainment destination with hundreds of nightclubs, restaurants, boutiques and hotels. The area is popular with both American and international tourists (mainly from Canada, Latin America, Europe, Israel, the Caribbean and within the United States), with some having permanent or second homes. The large number of European tourists also explains their influence on South Beach's lax and overall tolerance of the female monokini, aka topless sunbathing, despite it being a public beach.

The reflection of South Beach's residents is evident in the various European languages, as well as Semitic languages and many other languages spoken. In 2000, 55% of residents of the city of Miami Beach spoke Spanish as a first language, while English was the first language for 33% of the population. Portuguese (mainly Brazilian Portuguese) was spoken by 3% of residents, while French (including Canadian French) was spoken by 2%, German by 1.12%, Italian 0.99%, and Russian by 0.85% of the population. Owing to the area's large Jewish and Israeli community, Yiddish was spoken by 0.81% of residents, and Hebrew by 0.74%.[12]

Another unique aesthetic attribute of South Beach is the presence of several colorful and unique stands used by Miami Beach's lifeguards on South Beach. After Hurricane Andrew, Architect William Lane donated his design services to the city and added new stops on design tours in the form of lifeguard towers. His towers instantly became symbols of the revived City of Miami Beach.
