Classic mid century modern home is located a few miles from town in the quiet Club Circle Resort area. The small neighborhood is surrounded by a 9 hole 3 par golf course. This is one of the few areas in Borrego that does not have power lines. The house is unique in that the desert separates it from the course which provides great views, privacy and solitude as opposed to being directly on the greens. Beyond the golf course is a one mile nature trail that takes in mountain views and offers one of the best 'birding' areas in the valley.
Located within a 5 minute walk is the Borrego Springs Resort and Spa. Their pool and amenities can be used for a fee. They offer 27 hole golf course, tennis, gym and full spa services. The restaurant and full service bar are open day and night.
Our 'modern' home was designed and built in 1962 by a division of Rohr Aircraft Industries. It is constructed with steel beams, walls of glass and a classic carport. We restored the property in 2010. The previous owners of more than 30 years took good care of it so most everything remains original. The interior is furnished with period correct modern furniture. The living room features a large flat panel TV with cable and over 400 DVD titles to choose from. High speed wireless internet modem is also available for your convenience. The spacious well appointed kitchen features heavy copper based cook wear and full service for 6. The main dining area offers great sit down views of Indian Head and surrounding mountains. Both bedrooms offer high quality comfortable bedding. The lounge features vintage 50's cocktail bar and an additional dinning area. Our back yard is a favorite spot for our “local” roadrunners, rabbits and wide variety of other birds. The shaded patio is complete with a gas grill and comfortable dinning and sitting areas. Shaded parking is provided by the carport.

So this was a "girl" trip with my sister and 10 year old granddaughter and I, and it was wonderful. Wee One, Jenna, was beside herself with the 50's look and thought we all had houses looking like this in the 50's. Ours was "in the 50's" but not quite so stylin'! The house was very clean and with a very well stocked kitchen. Thank goodness for the 2013 coffee maker and not a percolator from the 50's! Beds were comfy although I slept on the couch in the former patio area.... now enclosed as part of the house with all sides of windows that have a beautiful view over the desert and to the mountains. This couch is cozy and what a view to wake up to. We took advantage of the day use of the Resort and Spa that is walking distance. For $75 we bought a family week pass and it sure was nice to take a swim each day. Back to the house.... the other thing we enjoyed was that there are a couple eating tables which enabled us to set one up as our crafts table and able to eat at another and the bar to accumulate "stuff". Every home should have that luxury. Rob was very accommodating in explaining everything to make us feel right at home from the get go. He even has a gas BBQ in back which we used to cook a couple dinners. It was a girl's excellent vacation and one that we will carry life memories of when we went to Anza Borrego.!!!! ...... OH, go eat at Carley's in town.
Blue skys, brilliant stars, spotless house with loads of room, great park with friendly visitor center and endless hiking and exploring, small town with well stocked grocery and hardware stores, ballet, classical music recitals, Mexican and French food, etc., quirky desert statues, citrus groves, fresh dates. What more could we ask for? We were in heaven! Going back next year.
Our stay was perfect. The owner met us at the door on our first day and made us feel right at home in Borrego Springs. The house was clean, well maintained and a perfect size for a couple (but capable of handling four people). The focus of the modest home is the NW corner where mostly glass walls converge providing a panoramic view of the desert and surrounding mountains. Bird life abounds, and resident roadrunners frequent the back patio looking for handouts.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, restful retreat in Borrego Springs.
A delightful month in a quiet setting close to town but surrounded by desert and stunning mountain views. A spacious and beautifully restored mid century modern home, spotless and well equipped throughout. Surrounded by birds and wildlife this home has everything one needs to enjoy a desert getaway. The Owner was very helpful and we look forward to a return next year.
My wife and I spent 3 weeks listening to Morning Doves every morning, and watching bunnies and road runners run around in the back yard. A very quite setting adjacent to the desert. The house was clean and well supplied. We enjoyed the library of books on Borrego Springs, the local birds and the star charts. Golf was great at the 18 hole Borrego Springs spa (10 minute walk away) and The Springs at Borrego 9 hole course about 2.5 miles away.
My wife and I stayed at this place and it was amazing! Poured a cocktail, put on some rat pack and relaxed. It was like stepping back in time. The quiet was surreal. Easy to get to, stunning views. I would highly recommend. I will be back. Oh yes, I did see a roadrunner sprinting through the back yard.
