Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Less than 2 hours from Atlanta, views from the deck will keep you at the house. Do not miss the sunset or the morning sun on the mountains. Gorgeous wide views of the mountains and the Lake.

4 Bedrooms are all comfortably furnished. 1 with King-size bed, 1 with double bed, 1 with Queen size bed with a futon that can convert to a queen size bed, and one with a set of bunk beds. Kitchen is fully equipped. Large comfortable living areas with satelite TV, DVD player, and Bose audio system. Large main living area open to dining area and kitchen. Large screened in porch with view for relaxing.

Wood burning fireplace in living room and large hot tub on the side deck make this a wonderful all-season retreat. Two living areas; basement is finished with large sitting area and ping-pong table. Toys and games for kids in cupboards. 2nd TV downstairs accomodates DVD's and tapes. Boat rental available and boat launch very close to cabin.

Within 30 minutes:

Visit historic Helen, Clayton, Tallulah Gorge, Unicoi State Park, Anna Ruby Falls

Excellent hiking - Walk right out your door and explore trails overloking beautiful lake Burton. Hemlock Falls, Panther Falls, Black Rock Mountain, Minihaha Falls, and many other State Park hikes are a short drive away.

White Water Rafting down the Chatooga or the Nantahala River

Shop at many local mountain craft and antique stores.

Highlands, NC is about an hour away.

The prettiest part of Southern Blue Ridge Mountains, and less than 2 hours from Atlanta, where we work.

What makes this cabin unique

It is remote enough to fee like a big escape, but close enough to town to shop for conveniences.

We spent Easter weekend at this amazing mountain log-style home with a spectacular vista overlooking beautiful Lake Burton. This was a return visit for us and we return precisely because it is wonderful retreat from busy urban life that is not much more than an hour's drive from the north Atlanta environs. When we arrive, it's hard to decide where to start - go for a hike (lots of wonderful trails to waterfalls), relax on the deck, enjoy the hot tub, explore nearby Clayton's fun shops and restaurants, play ping pong or one of many games available, or curl up on the comfy couch with a good book! The bedrooms are all very comfortable (we've tried them all!), bathrooms are sparkling clean, and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. Enjoy the sunrise if you're an early bird, watch the low-lying fog lift off the lake, gaze at the stars overhead at night - this is a place that can't be beat!

Unbelievable view and very private!

Our family stays at this mountain house frequently. We absolutely cannot get enough of the view overlooking Lake Burton any time of year! It is absolutely amazing sitting on the large wrap-around deck looking out at the sweeping view of the lake and the mountains that drift all the way to the horizon. We tried other mountain houses when this one was not available on a few occasions, but nothing ever compared to the comfort and relaxation we experience here. The recurring theme during every visit is, "it doesn't get any better than this." The owners are exceptionally friendly, and the house has everything we need....comfortable beds, plenty of room to move around, huge hot tub, ping pong table, flat screen TV, and a full kitchen with plenty of counter space. We like to go hiking at nearby Tallulah Gorge, boating on Lake Burton, and antique shopping in Clayton. Plus there often is a fun mountain festival not far away. The best part is that it's a great time even if we don't leave the house. We hope to be able rent here for many more years.

Wonderful Retreat for Any Group!!!

This house is just spectacular. The drive to the top of the mountain will leave you with great anticipation and you will not be disappointed! Entering the house (which will remind you of a lincoln log house from days of yore) you definitely get the "wow" factor! The views are absolutely amazing. I have stayed here with my extended family (my husband and I, our three young children, and my two brothers' families) and with a group of girls for a girls weekend. It would also make a fantastic couples retreat, but my kids love it so much, we cannot stay here without them. This house promotes great things - relaxation, time spent outdoors, and good old fashioned fun. Hiking, picking wildflowers, swimming in the lake, making a huge pot of soup or grilling burgers on the deck, starting the day with coffee and a dip in the hot tub, and ending the day with a glass of wine and a dip in the hot tub. A very special place. They also have a ping pong table in the basement, lots of board games, movies, and books. All of the utensils you need for cooking are in the kitchen, and there are some great funky restaurants not too far away (we love Grapes & Beans in Clayton). WARNING - if you stay here, you will want to come back time and time again!!!
