Chuck & Sarah Riehm
Our family has been coming to Colorado twice a year since we were first married in 1974--one summer hiking trip and one winter ski trip. The past few years the snow has been very disappointing at other major Colorado ski resorts so we thought we'd try Wolf Creek so booked a trip to Pagosa Springs in March 2013. We remember asking ourselves, 'How good could this ski resort BE with prices so low?' The answer is--GREAT! Chuck is an expert skier who can tackle any run on the mountain and the rest of us are light blue. We found plenty of terrain for all of us at unbelievably low prices for lift tickets and rentals. Plus, we just fell in love with the natural beauty of the place. The fact that you can hike in real wilderness right outside your doorstep is a real draw. Plus, Pagosa offers so many other fun activities from concerts to live theater to the amazing hot springs to horseback riding and rafting.
We had been looking for a lakefront property to call our own for some time now, yet most of the lakes we had looked at in Texas and Oklahoma were fairly sad with the drought situation. We absolutely loved Lake Forest with its natural setting in a pine forest with mountain views.
Great fishing right out the back door, kayaking or canoeing. Also lots of hiking trails close by. Great in-town location! Just a 20-minute walk to everyone's favorite Pagosa refreshment spot--The Pagosa Brewery.
