Our home is perfect for a large family just as we have, and makes it perfect for everyone to head to the slopes at their leisure in the morning, return home for lunch or a break, and everyone can call it a day when they want as it is just a short easy walk to and from the slope. This precludes a transport car and driver toting skiers all day back and forth from the slope! Roads are cleared daily, and you are at the lower elevation of the mountain so just a short drive to the store or resort base. Angel Fire is a great all family ski resort with a renowned ski school program for all ages, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, sledding, mountain tubing (they have a great tubing run by the beginner slope), and great place to take horse drawn sleigh rides!
The summers offer magnificent hiking (again a short walk to slope where you can take lift to summit to hike down). Angel Fire Resort is known for its great Golf Course, and its pro lessons.
Kids have a great time at Val Verde lake on paddle boats, fishing, or just playing on the community newly designed playground. There is nothing more beautiful than riding horses in the National Forest! We also love going ATV riding in the national forest where the views will take your breath away. Hey I love to just grab my book and enjoy either one of our two decks. Both are equipped with tables and chairs, rockers, as well as propane heaters, and one also has a propane grill for wonderful cooking opportunities. We have had some of the most beautiful wildlife right in our back yard area as well as wonderful birds to watch and feed.
We normally group together in the evening cook and enjoy a movie or play a game or a bit of poker! The kids like to take Gran and Granddad's money at that game! You can order from local restaurants as well and pick up to make it easy. Dudley at Valley Market does a mean Bar BQ and that is a meal you do not want to miss.
Santa Fe is an easy drive and we do it in the summer just for the day just for a bit of shopping or to enjoy a great Santa Fe meal! Santa Fe Flea Market is a must. Taos is much closer and no matter what season, we venture to Taos for both shopping and eating!
Gas/Electric BBQ Grill: Located on deck just adjacent to the kitchen. Deck is covered with table and chairs to enjoy the view while you are cooking. Also propane heater if it is a bit nippy while you are out grilling. Deck/Patio (2) : Large extended deck overlooking the valley with seating for 8 and a wonderful propane heater for those early morning coffee times or just at dusk to see a wonderful sunset.Balcony: Balcony is off Master Bedroom. Seating for two. Great place to retreat for a quiet moment of reading your book. Mountain View: The view from the decks is wonderful across Mountains. Our property does not have any homes immediately adjacent and the back of the property goes all the way to a greenbelt. This makes it very quiet and private. Short Walk to the slope for mountain biking, skiing, or hiking;back of lot great for sledding; close to base for easy shopping access; paved road access. Wonderful local Masseuse;Taos offers great Spa retreat at El Monte Segrado too!
