Mountain living at its best. This recently renovated, luxurious chalet with Hot Tub, is nestled on the side of the mountain with relaxing views. Located on a quiet street, you will feel secluded in the tree tops but close to the center of Wintergreeen with all the adventures. Ski season, no need to fight the crowds or deal with shuddles, immediatly hit the slopes and get your stay started. When ready to take a break, head back to our chalet and warm yourself by the stone fireplace, fix a beverage at the bar, or slip into the hot tub.
Our home is eloquently decorated yet comfortably modest with furniture, antiques, and artwork from local shops and artisans. The home has vaulted ceilings throughout including the family room with new leather sofa, swivel chairs, TV with libraries of DVDs, books, and games. The kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and is well furnished to prepare a gourmet meal for your family. There is a dry bar next to the kitchen and dining room with sliding doors leading to the deck and hot tub.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, new mattress, attached bathroom with river rock flooring, slate counter with vessel sink. The second king bedroom with new bedding has shared bathroom with natural stone flooring, hand made maple counter and stone vessel sink.
A spiral staircase leads to the third bedroom or bunk room with custom built in double bunk beds with trundle which sleeps up to six. There is a large TV/DVD and area which provides an escape for kids or adults.
It is a short walk or drive to the Black Rock Market, Mountain Inn, Spa, and all the incredible ammendities that Wintergreen resort has to offer. The Appalachian trail is within steps of our house and the BlueRidge Parkway, George Washington National Forest, and Shirando State Park are within a three mile drive.
On your drive in or while you are here, please stop by some of Virginia's best wineries and breweries that are located off route 151. Check out www.monticellowinetrial.com and look under Western Trail or www.Nelson151.com
Don't forget to take a hike to crabtree falls, said to be the highest waterfall in the Mid Atlantic.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions about Wintergreen, activities, and surrounding areas.
Ski season: If you have already started looking for ski season, this home is one of the few houses that have direct access to the slopes. Although not a tru ski in/ski out, the house sets above tyro ski slope. You can watch the skiers go by from the house and when ready, walk across from house for direct access. Please see pictures of house and captions which show direct relation from house to slopes

The kids hanging out at the edge. If you look at their faces, this is why we love Wintergreen.
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2011
We are having a blast. Lots of snow and great skiing. Girls want to stay another day.
Love the house. Comfortable and in a great spot!
Thanks so much.
We really enjoyed our stay at the house. The house was very clean and all the beds were very comfortable. There is a little walk from the house to the slopes, but it was nice to be that close to the slopes. I would recommend staying there, and will stay again!
We had a really great time during out extended weekend! The cottage had enough space for everyone, and the kids loved the little spiral staircase that leads up to the huge loft with bunk beds. We had a ton of snow while we were there, and the kids had a blast playing behind the house on the incline! It was extremely cold while we were there, but the house stayed nice and warm, and we all loved the gas fireplace. It was so cold, that we didn't use the hot tub out back, but we'd love to use it if we stay again. We'd definitely stay again!
Traveled with my husband and 2 daughters to this comfortable home. As stated in the description, this is not ski in ski out but, we found it to be an easy walk from the Tyro slope. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen had everything we reached for, even a crockpot! The girls enjoyed the hot tub each night.
Thank you for sharing your home, we will be back!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and really enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the hot tub and the gas grill. We were permitted to check-in a little early and check-out a little late which was very much appreciated. We were looking for a very low-key weekend and we had a great time. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a phenomenal time this past weekend. The view was breath taking and he chalet was a home away from home. I world recommend this place to everyone!!!
First I would say that I would consider staying here again, but there are some things that need to be addressed. This IS NOT a "step off the slopes to our chalet" place and it is a little walk to get to the property and then its forty-some steps straight up hill to the house. With skis and boots in tow it is no small task. There were ants all over the baths/kitchen counters. It looked like steps were being taken to remedy this problem, but they were not working. The living room seating was not at all comfortable but the beds made me take my mind off that. Gas logs were great but seem to have a mind of their own, I would check wiring. Hot tub was a struggle. Missed out on two lovely evenings to take advantage of it but did manage to get it going the last evening. Lovely home, great deal for our stay but just thought some things needed addressing. The biggest disappointment was the distance from slopes and pretty much no view. If that doesn't matter to you, then consider this home. Thanks to owners for sharing.
