We spent just under 14 days around Easter in this great apartment overlooking the Arno in Florence. The view itself was worth the price of the apartment. Open the tall windows and look directly across to the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio. There is a fantastic grocery store within a 4 min walk and a couple of great restaurants (try the Trattoria Bordino) are nearly at your door-step. The furnishings in the two bedroom, two bath unit are not elaborate, but very functional. And oh, by the way, the elevator was great! The small kitchen was fine for fixing breakfast before exploring everything Florence has to offer. Really never needed a car. Rachel was great, very helpful, even as we fought our jet lag.
We just spent a week in this fabulous apartment in the Oltrarno. Rachel was fabulous and accommodating - even when we arrived 6 hours late because one of our flights was canceled. The apartment was truly amazing - 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, large living and dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. We loved this area and ate all dinners within a 10 minute walk of the apartment - all wonderful. To walk over the Ponte Vecchio and be at 'home' within 5 minutes was such a treat - as was watching the New Year's Eve fireworks from the apartment windows. Everything about our stay was perfect and we would definitely stay here again. No car was necessary as the train station can be reached within 15 minutes. We have already begun to mention the apartment to various friends who are planning on traveling to Florence. I researched many, many apartments for our trip and know, without a doubt, that I chose the very best for our price range. Thanks again Rachel!
This place was just as advertised. Amazing location. Very spacious. Well-equipped. Rachel was super-helpful and always ready and available with good tips and advice. Parking at the nearby lungarno garage was easy and relatively affordable for the area. This is really in the centre of Firenze, but on the side of the Ponte Vecchio which encourages looking around the Oltrarno area (which so many tourists miss out on and never should) - but is steps from the Ponte Vecchio so nothing is missed. Stayed with a newborn, 2 year old, and had a couple of in-laws come and there was plenty of space for the 4 adults and two kids. Everything was great and easy, highly recommended.
Treat yourself and when you visit Firenze, rent an apartment - no, rent THIS apartment. You will know you have come home when you open the door. Our party of five were not only thrilled with the amazing location and the outstanding views, but this apartment is inviting, beautifully decorated, spacious and generously comfortable. Rachel was such a help from the first contact in writing until we met her upon arrival. We cannot thank her enough for all she did to make this stay so perfect. I would absolutely encourage anyone I know coming to Firenze to stay here- you can walk to everything, there are plenty of places to eat nearby and the best gelato is just at the base of the Ponte Vecchio, just two blocks away. Don't just stay in a hotel for a visit, live in Firenze in this apartment for your stay!
My dear Rachel, A year late in this review but the memories are like yesterday. We have had a few bleeps these past 12 months but all is well. What a fabulous person to take care of her guests in Florence. We appreciate everything that Rachel did for us and the apartment was perfect. What a view!!!! Convenient to everything. We dived into the renaissance head first and were able to trudge home with dinner in hand. We would rent it again tomorrow. Thank you for such a wonderful month in Florence.
We were in Florence for two weeks in June 2014 to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary—this gem of an apartment could not have been a better choice for a romantic and relaxing vacation. The building is young by Florentine standards, and spacious, with high ceilings, a lovely foyer, and a very comfortable formal living room with a table that seats 8 to 10. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the cookware and china you will need, and the bathrooms are just fine—the smaller one with a good “American” shower, and the master with a tub and beautiful period trimmings. Both bedrooms have masterful windows overlooking the Arno—we left the French doors open all the time to circulate the air and maybe encountered one bug in two weeks. There are also functioning air conditioning units if it gets too hot. The master bedroom is lovely with plenty of closet space and a comfortable king platform bed. You will be most comfortable here. It’s on the 4th landing, and the elevator comes right along.
But the show is outside. This apartment is right on the Arno, directly across from the Ufizzi, and 150 paces from the Ponte Vecchio. It is a perfect location. Even our Florentine cousins were envious! From the windows, you can see a bit of the Duomo, the new lighting on the Ponte Vecchio, and the crowds milling on either side of the river. It is a short walk to so many of Florence’s attractions and to wonderful restaurants, bars and gelato. It’s in such a central location that you can go out in the morning, bring your bags back at noon and have lunch and a nap, and go out again as the shops reopen. You are blocks away from the Pitti Palace, the Piazza Signoria, the Straw Market, and the Piazza de la Republica. That is, if you can stop looking out the windows of your spectacular Italian apartment! We can’t wait to come back!
