I took my girlfriend to the loft cabin as a surprise, she was thrilled to find out that we would a weekend "unplugged" from the day-to-day life.
We ate in nearby Carmel on Friday night and were treated to a VIP table on the house, it was quite a way to start off the weekend.
We were welcomed by a fireplace ready to be lit and a very clean cabin. The instructions in the cabin about cleanup were very thorough and clear. Our first night was filled with rain (right on schedule from the weather report) and it was an amazing to lay under the skylights as the water poured down the rooftop.
The next day was filled with cooking in the cabin. Let me put this clearly, this cabin has everything you need, even a crock pot! We were shocked at the amount of amenities. Microwave, cooking utensils, pots, pans, oven, cooking boards, and much more. As our food cooked we watched a few of the movies provided and also were able to take get recipes for dinner from the provided Wi-Fi Internet which was pretty fast considering how far into the woods this place is.
The owner greeted us in the morning with a newspaper and also with open arms with anything we needed. Everything was perfect, however, knowing she was there was a plus.
We took a drive out along the coast and visited McCoy falls during the afternoon. There were many sights to be seen, and not too crowded either considering the time of year.
If you're looking for a quite place to get away from it all I highly recommend this cabin. The loft is small, but perfect for 2 people. It is filled with everything you need for a comfortable stay at a price that cannot be beaten for what it has.
