Big Sur Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Detached Unit, Sleeps 6

The perfect place to get away from it all. Just a 15 minute coastal ride to Carmel or the heart of Big Sur, on a paved road, just past Rocky Point Restaurant. Situated on a secluded parcel of Redwood groves, a flowing creek and calming peace.

The main house is a 2 bed/1 bath spacious cabin. One of the original homesteaded cabins, built in the late 1800's. It is updated and decorated for that cozy cabin experience. Pillow top/memory foam queen mattresses in both bedrooms. Cozy up to a wood burning stove in the large living room with 46' flat screen TV/DVD player and extensive video library. Separate dining area and large kitchen. A wonderful wrap around deck, to enjoy the canyon views! 4 person maximum. $275/night, plus $100 refundable cleaning fee.

The second home is an adorable lofted studio, with upstairs bedroom (stairs are fairly steep, be sure to view our additional pictures). Decorated for that cozy cabin feel. Wood burning stove, full kitchenette, flat screen TV/DVD and video library. Full size bed with down comforter. Also an enormous wrap around deck. It is perfect for 1 or 2 people. 2 person maximum, adults only. $165/night, plus $45 refundable cleaning fee.

Amazing in every aspect

  • 5 of 5

I honestly don't know where to start! My family and I ( Husband and 2 small kids) had the most memorable week staying here away from the madness of work and city life. Close enough to a supermarket and restaurants to not feel too remote, still had wi-fi yet no cell signal which was perfect. The cabin was rustic enough yet with modern necessities to make it so comfortable. The morning sun through the trees was just picturesque and the air so clean and fresh. Hiking around the little trails in the hill behind the house was fun - even sliding down them! Lisa and her family were amazing. Make sure to visit Isabelles store ( not giving anything away... LoL) So close to Big Sur and Monterey for the sightseeing. Can't wait to come back. Vacation blues have kicked in. :-)

Perfect, Peaceful Cabin in Big Sur

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for either a tranquil retreat in the woods or a base camp for you and your family (and your best canine friend!) to explore Big Sur and Carmel from, then you've found what you're looking for!

The 2 bedroom cabin is exactly as described, rustic but warm and cosy. Everything you need is provided, from pots and pans to a washer and dryer. Lisa is a wonderful host - there whenever you need her, but otherwise leaves you to enjoy the magic of the property as though it were your own. The wrap-around front porch is especially nice and we found ourselves enjoying the morning light through the redwood trees for hours as we sipped our coffee.

The location is ideal, it's actually closer to Carmel than Big Sur but still an easy drive to all the Big Sur highlights. It's also only 15 minutes from the nearest grocery store to keep you well-supplied even though you feel completely immersed in nature while you are there.

My husband and I loved this place so much that we came back twice in a month and brought both sets of our parents with us. We also received our cleaning deposit back in full. I can't wait for our next visit!

Charming Getaway in the woods

  • 5 of 5

My fiance and I visited this site in summer 2013. Lisa was a great host and we enjoyed getting to know her family. Although the studio cabin was small, it was all we needed. We grilled outside. We hiked through the nearby national forest and we loved the views from the highway and Carmel. It made our trip to Big Sur very romantic.

Warm and cozy!!!

  • 5 of 5

Awesome little cabin nestled in the middle of big redwoods. Even though we arrived late, we were greeted and shown all the specifics of the cabin. I cant put into words how nice it is to relax in the middle of mother nature. The sun hitting the wooden rails in the morning makes steam rise in the light. The air is clean and fireplace keeps the cabin just warm enough.

The deck is great for just hanging out, or a warm cup of coffee after breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay,

Thanks Lisa!

Perfect Family Retreat in Big Sur

  • 5 of 5

We have visited Big Sur each summer for years now, usually camping or staying in one of the local cabins or hotels. This was an ideal spot for our family and we hope to rent here again from now on. We stayed in the larger cabin with our two young children and the owner was wonderful and very friendly. The space was both rustic and also incredibly comfortable, packed with board games, great movies, and a wood burning stove. There is a skylight in one of the bedrooms, allowing for late-night stargazing and the porch was very comfortable. It is remote and yet close to Bixby Bridge, making it easily accessible to Big Sur and Carmel. The redwood trees and stream are so relaxing. We look forward to future visits.
