Awesome little cabin nestled in the middle of big redwoods. Even though we arrived late, we were greeted and shown all the specifics of the cabin. I cant put into words how nice it is to relax in the middle of mother nature. The sun hitting the wooden rails in the morning makes steam rise in the light. The air is clean and fireplace keeps the cabin just warm enough.
The deck is great for just hanging out, or a warm cup of coffee after breakfast.
We really enjoyed our stay,
Tim and Sze Yin
We have visited Big Sur each summer for years now, usually camping or staying in one of the local cabins or hotels. This was an ideal spot for our family and we hope to rent here again from now on. We stayed in the larger cabin with our two young children and the owner was wonderful and very friendly. The space was both rustic and also incredibly comfortable, packed with board games, great movies, and a wood burning stove. There is a skylight in one of the bedrooms, allowing for late-night stargazing and the porch was very comfortable. It is remote and yet close to Bixby Bridge, making it easily accessible to Big Sur and Carmel. The redwood trees and stream are so relaxing. We look forward to future visits.
we wanted space for 6. we wanted to walk outside our door and be surrounded by redwood trees. we wanted privacy. we wanted homeyness. and we had a few extras that we thought would be nice, but not mandatory, like wifi.
these two cabins met every single one of our hopes for our vacation. a perfect spot. accessible, friendly and responsive hosts.
When I selected this cabin, I was a little concerned that it might be too rustic. We arrived and saw the beauty in this place immediately. The large Redwood trees created a serene wonderland. Each morning I would get up early to go out to take in the quietness. The only noises were the babbling creek and the birds.
We rented the main house and the studio. Each was fully stocked with everything we needed including a washer/dryer. Bring a sweatshirt with you, they have a wonderful wood burning heater in the house. The cabin has been remodeled, modernized bathrooms, and decorated for the area. The great charm about the place- Lisa and Abraham kept the authentic feel of a hunting cabin in the redwood forest.
This house is in a neighborhood with a winding drive into the mountains along Hwy 1. You have great access to the beaches and a few restaurants are only about 20 minutes away. The house is closer to Carmel than to Big Sur.
We loved this cabin and would like to return for a longer stay next time.
If you are looking for a cabin in the woods, this is the one! Seriously, look no further. This feels "off the beaten path" but is only a few miles from the ocean and was the perfect home base for us to visit the Big Sur parks. We were looking for a place that would offer respite from the typical tourist mayhem and could not have asked for anything better than this.
We rented the smaller cabin; it has had some updates since the posted photos, including a heating unit and staircase with rails up to the loft, plus a little fish pond right outside. (oh, and wi-fi was provided, which helped quite a bit since my phone could not get service anywhere along the coast) The property is gorgeous; there are of course the redwoods but also lovely landscaping plants and flowers everywhere and we even checked out the new trails that Abraham is putting in. Abraham was on-site and very helpful whenever we had questions. To be honest, we had a hard time in the mornings motivating ourselves to leave for the parks - that's how relaxing it felt to be here.
