Cornville House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

Imagine yourself pulling into a gated community, Peace and security as you enter. Pull into the garage on the 18th hole of the Verde Santé Fe Golf course. Enjoy the quiet neighborhood with dark star filled skies, a small home town feel and the opportunity of being so close to one of the most beautiful places in America, Sedona! Red Rock County. Ahhh..Away at last!

Travel north only 12 miles to Sedona, Enjoy the great red rocks views, hiking, scenic drives, tours, horseback rides, hot air balloons, spas, galleries, shopping and dining.....Spend a great day with your family at Slide Rock Park or visit the natural land vortex’s such as Cathedral Rock and Bell Rock for healing energy and mental clarity. My favorite hike is Devils Bridge, a moderate 35 minute hike to the top of this natural land arch, walk out on the arch or enjoy it from a distance…either way you will leave here with some great pictures, a sense of accomplishment, and inspiration.

Or travel 12 miles south to Jerome, an old copper mining town, artist community with an interesting reputation of being a ghost town...if you want unique local art instead of mass-produced 'Indian Art & Jewelry,' which, unfortunately, has begun to be plentiful in the shops of Sedona. Great location for photography, shopping, wine tasting, galleries and dining.

This new home is open and light with great energy, enjoy the sounds of the tranquil water fountain or relax in the round chair, a wonderful place to have a cup of morning coffee or cuddled up with a special someone. Enjoy the temperature being 10 degrees cooler here than in Scottsdale. You open the door and you know that you are 'home'. Leather sofas, down comforters, tribal rugs on the floor. In the winter the gas fireplace is capable of making the family room nice and toasty. Enjoy some family time with a movie. In the summer enjoy coming back from a long day of hiking to a super cool air conditioned home or enjoy soaking in the guest bathroom tub.

The sliding glass door leads to an open space patio surrounded by plants, flowers and a variety of bird life. To one side is the green grass of the golf course, the other side is open space with beautiful views of the Mingus Mountain. Spend an evening talking with friends or make new friends as you visit with the golfers on the 18th hole.. I often love to sit out there alone..in the evening enjoying the fire pit with a glass of wine and my own thoughts..

The tiled kitchen is open to the family room with an IPOD dock for music. The kitchen bar counter and stools are great for entertaining your guests...everything about this place, from the Sedona Landscape images to the Quiver with the bow and arrows makes you feel like you are in Sedona.

The master bedroom is spacious and inviting…romantic

mood lighting with a medium-firm mattress, nice and cool high thread count sheets and a little TV, just enough to keep you company. A full bathroom with a stall shower and a walk in closet...great to dump your suitcases in a out of eye sight location and head off for the red rocks.

The guest bedroom has s a medium firm queen mattress, high thread cool sheets and down pillows. complete with a 19' TV, walk in closet. Decorated in a series of photographic images by the owner of the natural land arches in Sedona.

Next to the water fountain is the third bedroom, no TV in here, perfect for a single guest who loves to read or just loves some peace and quiet from the rest of the family. This room offers a very comfortable firm futon mattress, a full closet and wood writing desk inviting you to document your vacation experiences in your journal...or perhaps complete that writing project you started last year!

This is high desert living at its finest and it won't break the bank. Come stay in my home, I would love to have you.

About Linda Johnson

Photographer; Linda Johnson lives in California primarily where she owns and operates a portrait studio. Her second love is her home in Sedona Arizona, where she enjoys landscape photography, geology, hiking, rock climbing, being moved and feeling empowered. Her days are filled with images and ideas, she is always watching and waiting for the defining moment…dramatic weather conditions, a sunset, a star filled night, a waterfall or just red dirt! Linda creates moments that help people to see how much beauty there is in a moment and the often overlooked details of daily life.

Linda Johnson purchased this house in 2006

Why Linda Johnson chose Cornville

I originally purchased the home as an investment opportunity, then I fell in love with Sedona. I enjoyed decorating it and getting away to relax and re-charge my creative energy. I believe what they say is true, “Once you come to Sedona …you never want to leave”.

What makes this house unique

Romantic family room with fireplace and water fountain.

Backyard has a propane fire pit. It.s fun activity to watch the golfers try to make the challenging 18th hole. Also romantic to watch the stars at night, the sky is jammed packed full of stars!

LOCATION was the BEST!

  • 5 of 5
The listing was spot on with everything. The house was beautifully decorated, everything was neat and clean, and well cared for. Linda was awesome to work with, all her recomendations for drives, shopping, hiking, restaurants, and points of interests were spot on. It was so nice to come home to such a relaxing place after a long day in the heat. This home has everything you need, most comfortable bedding, couches, bar chairs, and even patio furnishing. Oh and I can not forget the awesome cooler that was in the garage, that we used every day for our day trips to pack our lunch and keep everything nice and cold! (THANK YOU LINDA) There is even water bottles and a brita water pitcher in the refridge.
Unfortunately we did not get to visit Slide Rock State Park or any other area in Oak Creek Canyon, because of the monsoon season and the Slide Rock fire, that was very dissapointing, especially since my two teenage kids, really wanted to go swimming down the rocks, and then I missed out on all of the photographs that I wanted to get from that area. Also there was a couple of days with smoke in the area from fires that were controlled, so we ended up taking two trips to the Grand Canyon, we took the Grand Canyon Railway, and then we drove on another day. (Because of the reviews on this website, is why we drove up to the Grand Canyon, and drove up to Cameron and then West to the Canyon) Most beautiful drive that way, we got to see the Little Colorado Gorge and just the most beautiful scenery and a lot of wildlife.
Sedona was absolutely gorgeous, we went up there a couple of times, just to take more photographs of the landscape and sunset. We also got to Jerome which was a very interesting drive, on the edge of my seat the whole way up, but it was so worth it. We ate at The Haunted Hamburger Restaurant, which was very good and the views breath taking. We also did some shopping and found quite a few items to take back home with us.
Anyone that is going on vacation to the Sedona area, needs to stay at this home. I would and will be recommending this home to all of my family and friends. I hope me and my family can come back and stay at this very home again, it was such a wonderful place to stay at. I did not want to leave, and I want to come back again, soon??
Also, Linda, you need to sell those pictures you have throughout your home, they are absolutely gorgeous!! As for the metal frame you have outside on the wall, you need to put a tile mosaic in there.

Toast to Champagne Taste!

  • 5 of 5
Linda's home is exactly as described however, the pictures do not do it justice! We felt like we were walking in to someone's home rather than a vacation rental. Everything was comfortable and it was more than enough space so that everyone can have their "alone" time when they wanted. The house is well stocked and it was great to have a Brita filter in the refrigerator so that we could make coffee without using up the bottled water that we bought. It was also great to be able to pull into the garage so that the car is out of the direct sun.

Every morning, we drank our coffee on the back patio and watched the birds playing over the golf course and the hummingbirds drinking the nectar from the flowers in the yard. It was a very relaxing day to start our day.

We were 20 minutes from down town Sedona, 20 minutes from Jerome, and 10 minutes from Cottonwood, which was perfect. We even took a day trip to the Grand Canyon - it was so easy getting there from the house. Linda's recommendations for activities and restaurants in the area were spot on. My mouth is still watering thinking about the shrimp pizza from Bocce!

If we return to the Sedona area again, I will, without hesitation, stay at Linda's house again. We hated to leave and wish we had had a few extra days to explore the area and enjoy the home. I definitely recommend Linda's home if you are looking to visit the Sedona area.

Five star for the Champagne Taste, Beer budget home!!!

  • 5 of 5
Six days at this place was perfect, the decor was so relaxing and creative. Everything as explained was there and made you feel at home. The photos are wonderful and the views are great. Played the golf course which was a lot of fun for a very reasonable price. Thank you for the opportunity to stay and would do it again.

Loved the champagne taste on a beer budget!

  • 5 of 5
My husband recently stayed here. Loved the house, very clean, the owner has thought of everything! It was a short 20 minute drive to Sedona but we didn't mind at all because of the beautiful scenery. We cooked on the grill a few nights, sat outside at night. (No mosquitos!) We did a lot of hiking in the area. Saw beautiful sunsets. The listing was exactly as it was portrayed on the website. The owner had beautiful photographs hanging on the walls of the house. We visited Jerome also and had lunch at "Grapes." Food was delicious. Also ate at the Brewery Restaurant in the Tlaquepaque Plaza. Great chicken salad sandwich. We absolutely loved our stay in the area and would highly recommend! If you drive to the Grand Canyon, be sure to drive up to Cameron and then drive West to the Canyon. Beautiful drive and you see more of the canyon. Flagstaff and Prescott are also nice little towns to visit. The owner was so nice to provide us with all the tourist information to help us with our AZ adventure!

Red Rock Country...

I have stayed at over 20+ VRBO properties and this one and a home in southern Utah are at the top of my list! Linda is super easy to communicate with. Her home has all the comforts of your own including high quality bedding, furnishings, extra linens and even a hair dryer in the master bath! We turned the air off when leaving the home and when we returned the central air and ceiling fans quickly cooled the home. Kitchen fully furnished with pantry and dishwasher. (although we didn't use it) While visiting the area, Sedona had a forest fire which literally drove us away from this wonderful property but I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to others! Very easy to navigate to from the freeway and in and around the region. We stocked up on groceries before arriving but really didn't need to as there are stores in Cottonwood just a couple of miles away.

Owner's Response: With your VRBO experience your review is very flattering, Thank you for pointing out all the benefits and how close the freeway and grocery shopping is. Sedona has recovered from the fire now but I'm sorry that they smoke bothers you as much as it did. I would love to have you back for free week too enjoy the days you missed. Linda

Vacation home with style!

  • 5 of 5
On behalf of my wife and travelling companions , Allan & Gisele , let me say that we were very pleased with the rental home for it's cleanliness , amenities and proximity to Sedona and Prescott. The adjacent golf course was a treat to play and quite affordable. The community is close to shopping and restaurants in Cottonwood and just a short drive to Sedona. We enjoyed the walks around the community and found that it is a very friendly neighborhood. For those looking for relaxation and a place to swim, we recommend that the Community Center be available for the guests during their stay. Overall, we would recommend this house and location as a perfect getaway for anyone looking for an affordable, relaxing and enjoyable vacation

Owner's Response: I'm luck to have a couple that are as fanatical about taking care of the house as I am. If you come during the summer and would like to use the pool at the clubhouse you will need to request that in advance. I can leave my personal key for you, but we DO NOT need to let the Home Owners Association know that!

If you would like to stay close to home there are many wonderful experiences to be had in this area of the Verde Valley. There are several local wineries on Page Springs Road (about 5-10 minutes away), and don't forget the Fish Hatchery on that road, as well. In nearby Camp Verde are Montezuma's Well, Montezuma's Castle, and a little farther out, Tuzigoot, Honanki and Palatki, ruins. Also between the house and Highway 17 is the Out of Africa Wildlife adventure area. For some night life, Cliff Castle Resort & Casino in Camp Verde (about 10 min. away) has some great restaurants, a bowling alley, and, of course, lots of 'one armed bandits,' if you want to try your luck!

Nearby Old Town Cottonwood is also a great place for an afternoon stroll. Plays and performances are offered in the Theatre there, and the La Bella Restaurant offers wonderful natural fare. The Clarkdale Train offers a sweet ride through the local mountains, with the guide pointing out both historical and natural points of interest...a real treat for train kids!

I can help you tailor your experiences to your interests and budgets...just ask! If I don't know the answer to your question, I will be happy to try and get one for you.

This is high desert living at its finest and it won't break the bank. Come stay in my home, I would love to have you.
