All the couches and furniture, including the king, queen and twin bed are brand new and designer quality. A 42' plasma television is mounted along with a surf board in the living room to perfectly complete the blend of charming old coastal charm and newer, fresher luxury.
The living room is arranged with the couches facing west to take advantage of the vista from floor to ceiling windows. But every room treats you to glorious gulf view and the décor was thoughtfully picked out to look and feel like something from the pages of Coastal Living magazine. In the bedrooms, you’ll find a king bed, queen bed and two single beds to sleep four easily. But six guests total are welcome at the vacation cottage thanks to a cute and cozy trundle bed.
All the appliances and utensils in the kitchen are new and this is a Premium Linen Program property, stocking your bathrooms and bedrooms with professionally laundered, hotel quality sheets, beach and bath towels. Outside, the kids can build sandcastles on the beach while you relax under the shade of an actual sea grape tree over the deck!
But your perfect location isn’t just about sitting closer to the water than some seagulls. You’ll be tucked away from it all but still close to everything! Rent a bicycle built for two or treat your family to beach cruisers for exploring the corners of this quaint island that feel like a throwback to the 1950s.You can walk to the Rod N Reel Pier for their crispy, golden grouper sandwich and kids can fish for free. Walk or ride down Pine Ave to see the boutique shops, museum, old historic jail, shops for beach goodies, cafes. Stop in at Two Scoops for ice cream after waterside dining on the City Pier. Listen to the one man band that plays for tips and browse the small jewelry stands of local artisans.
Walk the beach back to your vacation cottage and explore the dunes along the way. Just be sure to mind the sea oats. Listen to the hum of ships pass as they enter Tampa Bay. If your feet get tired, hop on the air conditioned Island Trolley that continually tours the island for free. Take a boat ride to Egmont Key and explore this national park on the brick lined paths winding through the island. Next day stroll down the beach to the Sandbar for lunch and to people watch while you listen to their steel drum band. Mingle with the rest of the islanders as they gather on the beach for the daily ritual of watching the sun slowly set over the Gulf of Mexico.
