Rushing Waters Escape is our cabin home located in the North Georgia Mountains on the banks of the breathtakingly beautiful Mountaintown Creek. Our stretch of the Creek is 20-30 feet across and 2-4 feet deep in the middle, providing you with your own Private Swimming Hole! Everyone in your group will enjoy swimming, floating, wading, fishing, or just relaxing by our Beautiful Creek.
The cabin, with 3 levels of extensive Creek Side Decking, was designed to make the most of the soothing sights and sounds of the Stunning Natural Setting.
This gorgeous cabin has a bedroom and bathroom on each of the 3 levels. The Upper Level bedroom has it's own Private Deck overlooking the Creek. You'll want to sleep with the french doors open and let the sounds of the rushing water lull you to sleep. The Upper Level also has a loft that overlooks the vaulted living/family room.
The Main Level is spacious and welcoming with a large, fully equipped kitchen, a vaulted dining area with seating for 8, as well as a comfortable family room with wood fireplace and french doors that open to the Creek Side Deck. The Main Level also has a bedroom and a very large bathroom that is equipped with Front Loading Washer and Dryer.
The Terrace Level is absolutely perfect for any group of family or friends and has something to offer any kid, whether they're 3 years old or 93 years old! The Terrace Level has it's own bedroom, bathroom, and Large Separate Game Room. Both the bedroom and the Large Game Room on the Terrace Level have french doors that open to an Extra, Extra Large Deck that is equipped with a Hot Tub overlooking the Creek.
Our Large Game Room has a TV, a beautiful Billiards Table, and a Ping Pong Table!
The Tranquil Creek Side Fire Pit is the perfect way to spend an evening! You'll make lasting memories by the Fire where you can enjoy a hot cup of cocoa, a cold beverage, or marshmallows toasted to perfection. You'll have so many fun things to do at our cabin that you won't want to leave!
For those that may need to stay connected while getting away from it all, don't forget to bring your laptop. We have Wireless Internet for your convenience!
If you choose to venture away from the cabin, the area is filled with things to do. Start the day with a treat at the coffee shop in Historic Old Ellijay at the roundabout, then stroll through the specialty shops and antique stores.
The more adventurous can go fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, tubing, river rafting, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, or golfing and all of this is just minutes from the cabin!
Rushing Waters Escape is extremely easy to reach (just 6 miles from historic Ellijay and 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta), with it's own paved driveway only a mile off a main highway. It sits on about 3 wooded acres with 200 feet along Mountaintown Creek.
Enjoy your time away with the finest that a Creek Front Vacation Cabin has to offer!
We are Roy and Jan. We have lived in North Georgia since 2003. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home! We've loved fishing and hiking the Cohutta Wilderness area trails and trout streams with our teenaged sons and our dogs, Chester and Scout. The cool mountain breezes, the pristine trout stream, and beautiful vistas are like heaven on earth to us.
Jan Cooler purchased this cabin in 2010
Even before we moved to North Georgia, we have enjoyed hiking and fishing in the beautiful areas around our cabin. The year round trout streams and mountain trails through rare virgin forests offer endless opportunities to spend quality time with family, reconnecting with nature and with each other. We have a goal of hiking the Appalachian Trail someday, so the trails around our cabin are perfect for us!
Rushing Waters Escape is like no other cabin because of the beautiful rocky trout stream that is right on the property. When you arrive and open your car door, the only thing you will hear is the loud Rushing Waters of Mountaintown Creek. You will instantly feel happy and relaxed.
We just left yesterday and I wanted to get my review in while all was still fresh on my mind. We were actually snowed-in for a little while, and while we all were craving burgers from the Blue Ridge Brewery just up 515, we were certainly not ANYTHING close to being uncomfortable.
The cabin is VERY clean and is generously stocked with everything needed. We traveled with as a group of 3 couples and everyone had more than enough space to spread out or hang together comfortably. There are 3 bedrooms all with its own bath, which was to us, a positive. We enjoyed the game room, the decks, the hot tub, and most important, the setting. The noisy creek was sooo very relaxing, and the cabin is VERY private. The only neighbor being a fair distance away. Even with the bareness of the trees in the winter, we could just barely see the parts of the neighbor's cabin. That was very important to us.
Jan was very helpful before, during, and after the rental process. Staying here was effortless. We will be back during the summer, as I can hardly wait to get in that creek after a nice long hike, and listen to creek at night while dozing. Will be in contact about that soon, Jan! :)
Only possible downside, if you can call it that....the driveway paved and very nice, but it is steep. It was not an issue to us, but one of the couples that traveled with us (a beach loving flat-lander) didn't much care for it as it made him a bit uneasy.
Overall - Loved it!
We love this place ! The house is impeccable. Loved the Game room. Great for family and friends. Great location to the State Park and other hiking trails. Very private location. We have been numerous times and will always come back. Jan, the owner is very detailed and if we needed anything only a phone call away.
Driving into the hills of northern Georgia, you are transported to a time and place of another era. Stepping out of the car and walking into this cabin, nestled in the woods and by a gurgling trout stream, your worries are left far behind. This amazing property melts your tense muscles into putty and the fire on the main floor mesmerizes your stress away. The views of the creek are awesome and the proximity to miles of hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail, makes this rental a must stay property. The care and love Jan and Roy have put into this paradise found makes you feel like family rather than just guests in their rental.
This cabin was perfect. The descriptions were right on. Very private, well kept, and much to do without driving again, which was our goal. We also caught fish on property. The sounds of the water when opening any door was so relaxing. Jan, the owner, was a delight to work with. As the sign above the door stated: Come as strangers, leave as friends. It is exactly like that.. We have already recommended this cabin to trusted friends and will be back.
My family has been visiting Ellijay in the fall for 25 years. We love this little mountain town and the surrounding areas. Our stay in Rushing Waters Escape has by far been our best visit yet! We enjoyed every level of the cabin and lacked absolutely nothing! The thoughts that kept running through my mind all week were "Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!" The pictures on the internet are great but wait until you see it in person. We hiked the creek out back several times, Amicalola Falls, and Brasstown Bald mountain. We did Burt's pumpkin farm and the apple orchards. And of course hit all the antique shops in sweet Ellijay. Our adventurers even did some white water kayaking in the cold fall temperatures! Some of our favorite times where just hanging around the cabin! Thank you Jan. We can't wait to visit again next year!
My wife and I have been to Rushing Waters Escape for 2 years now with 2 other couples. This is a perfect place for friends to spend time in a beautiful area of the country and relax. The 3 level cabin allows for separation and privacy when needed. Most of our time was spent playing ping pong and pool as well as fishing in the stream. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the tools you need and a grocery store is only about a 15 minute drive away. The owner Jan is extremely accommodating and a pleasure to work with. We hope to come back for many years.
