CABIN AT GREEN MOUNTAIN – REST & RELAX – MOUNTAIN MAGNIFICENCE

Deadwood Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps up to 7)

The Cabin at Green Mountain is located three miles south of Nemo, a tiny mountain town set in the picturesque valley of Boxelder Creek. Central to Deadwood, Sturgis, Rapid City and Hill City, our convenient location let’s you visit top attractions while providing a special haven of rest and relaxation.

The cabin is nestled under tall pines on the edge of a strikingly beautiful and secluded Black Hills meadow. The view from the front porch across a sweep of pasture, ringed by steep rock ridges and dense pine and spruce, is punctuated be a sheer white limestone cliff rising in the distance. This private little valley is graced by Jim Creek. The diverse flora and quietly tumbling creek attract a wide variety of Black Hills animals and birds.

Enjoy relaxing on the front porch, hiking in the woods, trout fishing in the creeks, cross-country skiing, birding, golf courses, restaurants and all major Black Hills attractions.

The brilliantly redesigned 1910 building features a lofted cathedral ceiling and a large field-stone, gas fireplace. Three sleeping areas accommodate up to eight people. The main level has a full bath, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, a comfortable living room, and a bedroom with bunk beds and a double bed. Upstairs, the open loft holds a double fold out futon. This area also can be used as a second living room and has a special parquet card table perfect for games, puzzles or projects. An upstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and a private full bath.

Your hosts, Mark and Mary Zimmerman are both professional artists, avid students of the history, geology, flora and fauna of the Black Hills. Their house, barn, and their Green Ink Gallery and Studios are located nearby on this same 30 acre original 1906 homestead which is surrounded by the Black Hills National Forest.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1988

Undeniably one of the most beautiful properties in the Black Hills, this serene little valley is a special haven, a place of solace, where it is possible to truly rest, relax, and deeply recharge. This is a place where it is entirely natural to make special memories that will last a lifetime.

WHAT A TREASURE.....TUCKED BACK IN THE WOODS........WITH A TRANQUIL AND BEAUTIFUL SETTING!

  • 5 of 5
We were so happy to find Cabin at Green Mountain. What a cozy, well equipped cabin---You can hardly call it a cabin, because it's sooooo much more than that. The house is nestled in the woods, with beautiful mountain and valley views. Everything you need in the kitchen, for sure. The location allowed us to venture off on day trips quite easily.........and the owners were so caring and helpful and showed hospitality to the MAX!! It's such a beautiful place, and watching the horses graze in the open grassy fields and counting all the deer.......amazing! If you want peace and beauty, this is the place, FOR SURE! Enjoy yourselves.........we certainly did!!!

THE BEST QUIET & SECLUDED VACATION RENTAL IN THE BLACK HILLS - NO QUESTION

The Best Quiet & Secluded Vacation Rental in the Black Hills - No Question
  • 5 of 5
My husband I had decided to come to the Black Hills together for our first two-week vacation without our now grown children. Without knowing much about the Black Hills, we searched VRBO for a quiet cabin we could rent that would situate us near good hiking trails and some of the historic landmarks of the area. There are a number of different properties that look good online, but the Cabin at Green Mountain seemed special. One key feature for us was the large front porch overlooking the pasture. We've travelled enough to know that we like to spend much of our down time sitting outside reading. Cabin at Green Mountain appeared to have enough shade (essential in the hot summer months in the Black Hills) and room to relax late into the evening. So, that's how we ultimately decided (not to mention that with a couple of free nights included in an extended stay the price seemed more than reasonable). However, not only did the cabin live up to the owners' description (clean, comfortable, spacious, well-equipped) the experience of being there has far exceeded our expectations. It really is special. If you truly care about the environmental tapestry that gives life and sustains the breathtaking vistas and formations of this region, you would do well to make the Cabin at Green Mountain your home away from home. Mark and Mary are passionate advocates for the Black Hills and you will learn much from any brief conversation you have with them about the area. They will direct you to great places to hike and make you feel at home when you return. This is a place to unplug, rest, relax and just be part of the surroundings. We are going home better for having been here. Thanks Mark and Mary.

AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5
This is truly a slice of paradise! We stayed with another couple for 3 days and we all agreed we would come back in a heartbeat. The cabin was even better than we expected. The layout provides for maximum privacy and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need (although more tupperware for leftovers would be helpful). Mary and Mark were great hosts and Donner and Blitzen (dog and cat respectively) were an added treat!! A wonderful oasis after a hectic day in the life of a tourist!!!

PERFECT PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I have been vacationing in our beloved Black Hills for many years and we are always on the lookout for the perfect place to stay. Cabin at Green Mountain is everything that is advertised and more. It is certainly the perfect place for us. The cabin is a welcome retreat, filled with beautiful artwork and comfortable details. The veranda inspires one to indulge in tranquil moments, a bold cup of coffee and a good book. The surrounding property is a nature lover’s delight with beautiful views and great hiking opportunities. We highly recommend this cabin and we have no doubt that Mark and Mary will make your stay an enjoyable experience.
