Quaint Mountain Cabin on Working 43 Acre Farm with Animals Wow

What an absolutely magical place...We had the opportunity to rent the adorable cottage at Little Peak Creek Farm this past Sept. We wanted somewhere for our boys (14 and 11) and us to get away, unwind and enjoy the country...Little did we know that what we would experience would be a vacation with memories to last a lifetime! First l must say that the cottage is absolutely adorable. Lisa and Steve have arranged everything with such a warm, inviting and artistic flare that it makes you want to linger at each turn to investigate an interesting feature or snuggle in for a leisurely stay. Wonderful...But your stay at Little Peak Creek farm is so much more that the wonderful cabin...And that is because of the colorful cast of characters that live there!!

Starting right at the top with Lisa and Steve who have lovingly restore and renovated the property to its current, wonderful state. Good and gracious people who geniunely want ot make sure that their guest have a fantastic vacation. Our daily investigations for fresh laid eggs was a fast made tradition and the excitement of the morning and the awakening of the barn animals even got our teenage out of bed early (which is unheard of!!) The horse, Jesse James, is a kind and gentle soul and the goats are wonderfully entertaining. The dogs could not be sweeter. Each in our family had our favorite as they all had their own, unique personality. Hikes up to the amazing vistas on the property would not be complete without these faithful and hilarious sidekicks...And then there was Bonnie and Clyde, the geese. Clyde will forever be tatooed in our minds with his larger than life personality. A week doesn't go by when we don't remeniesce about Clyde's antics and we will never again look at an AFLAC commerical without laughing because of Clyde!!

The grounds are immaculately maintained and there is plenty of room to roam. You can do as much or as little as you want. Either way you will have a blast.

Our vacation in the cottage at Little Peak Creek couldn't have been better. Steve and Lisa were the most gracious and kind hosts. By the time we left, they felt like family to us. Our daughter described staying in the cottage on their beautiful property like "living in a storybook." It was perfect to disconnect with our busy lives and spend a week together as a family creating so many memories that we will always cherish. The location is private and secluded but still an easy 15 minute drive into the really friendly town of West Jefferson. We felt safe and comfortable in our surroundings. Our young kids had so much fun with all the animals on the farm and particularly fell I love with the dogs. The kids collected garden vegetables, fresh eggs, blackberries, tasted freshly collected honey, and spent hours splashing in the creek in front of the cottage. We walked to gem mining down the road-a big hit with the kids, went tubing, hiked Mt. Jefferson, took a painting class at Steve and Lisa's beautiful studio/store, and hiked all over the property. It was so great to take a vacation with three small kids, ages 4-7, and completely relax and feel comfortable. We cannot say wonderful things about the property and Steve and Lisa. We all had tears in our eyes when we left and easily could have stayed the month. You won't be disappointed with your stay here.

My family and I spent two amazing nights at Steve and Lisa's idyllic farm. The setting is just amazing with beautiful views, enchanting trails, and friendly animals. Our two daughters immediately fell in love with all the animals, especially Andy the terrier! They loved searching for eggs and taking walks in the creek with the dogs. The accommodations are lovely, the cottage is stocked with everything you may need and is decorated beautifully.
Both Steve and Lisa went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and recommended an outfitter on the close by New River for us to go tubing with. Steve even shared some local fishing spots with my husband!
We loved sitting on the back patio listening to the bubbling creek and looking out over the meadows teeming with wildflowers. The front porch is a great spot to watch the fireflies and listen to the
bullfrogs once the sun goes down.
If you have time, stop in Lisa and Steve's gallery in West Jefferson. Steve's artwork is showcased along with other artist's, antiques and unique home decor.
We are all looking forward to spending more time at this magical spot.
