Baker City House Rental Photos and Description

House, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Our recently remodeled guest house is a perfect place for relaxing in your own private space- yet, it is just several blocks from Baker City's historic downtown and a short drive from an abundance of outdoor activities.

The single-unit house includes a cozy sleeping nook with a comfortable queen bed adjoining a warm and relaxing living room. Nautical decor enhances the relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen is clean and crisp, reflecting our Scandinavian heritage. A hot shower awaits you after a day skiing fresh powder at Anthony Lakes ski resort.

Each night's stay includes a fresh, homemade breakfast, with a hearty entree, side dish, and beverage - delivered to your kitchen door every morning. We're sure you will find this meal both tasty and filling.

If you want to experience Baker City, you can bike, stroll or jog along the Leo Adler Memorial Parkway next to the scenic Powder River. Or you might want to visit nearby coffee shops, stores, restaurants and brew pubs. Also located nearby are two city parks, a museum and sports complex. The Oregon Trail Interpretive Center is just five miles out of town.

Outdoor adventures abound in our area. Anthony Lakes offers great skiing in the winter as well as camping, hiking and fishing during the warmer months. Several nearby lakes and reservoirs attract boaters and fisherman.

When back home to our retreat you can enjoy a movie, read a good book or just sit in the peaceful backyard and relax. It is our goal to provide our guests privacy and comfort in a setting that is charming and friendly.

About The Owner

We are retired educators who have lived on this property for over 20 years. Mark grew up in Baker City and I have lived here for 36 years. We take advantage of the scenic area - walking daily on the Leo Adler pathway (just out the backdoor), kayaking, camping, and cross country skiing. We enjoy entertaining in our home and yard and are excited about our new business venture of opening Bogarts' Bed and Breakfast. We've added lots of personal touches that we hope will make people feel comfortable and welcome in the Guest House.

A Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5
We had a lovely week at the Bogarts' Bed & Breakfast. Patty and Mark were wonderful hosts. We had a yummy breakfast our first morning there, it was sooo good. We traveled all the back byways and were glad to get back to our "Baker City" home each evening. We didn't see any wild life in our travels except for the squirrels in their beautiful back yard, and a family of quails that live somewhere close to their yard. They were fun to watch. If our travels take us back to Eastern Oregon, we know where we will stay.

Owner's Response: We were very happy that these nice guests could join us for their week's stay. We were glad to hear that after a full day of exploring our scenic area, they were ready to "come home" to our guest house to relax each evening. Fall is in the air here in Baker City and we look forward to meeting many more new guests.

Best Birthday Weekend

  • 5 of 5
For my birthday this year I really wanted to try all the Barley Brown's brews from the source: Baker City. My girlfriend suggested looking for a B&B for the weekend, especially since neither of us had stayed at one before. We picked the Bogarts based on location and a few reviews, and couldn't have been luckier.

Mark and Patty are wonderful hosts. They welcomed us with smiles and iced tea. They delivered a feast each morning -- homemade muffins and quiche and yogurt parfaits one day, german pancakes and ham the next. The food was excellent, the cottage was cozy, and I really felt like we had the perfect getaway for the weekend.

The only "downside" is that they set the bar so high, the next B&B adventure might not seem as enjoyable :)

Owner's Response: We very much enjoyed having these guests at Bogarts' Bed and Breakfast, especially since it was there first time to stay in this type of accommodations. We were happy that Jason was able to celebrate his birthday here in Baker City and we hope it will not be long before they can come back to visit again.

A great stay!

  • 5 of 5
I was in Baker City for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay at the Bogarts. It is conveniently located and had everything I needed. It was clean and comfortable. Patty and Mark were fun to talk to and even allowed me a late check-out which was very nice of them. If I'm ever in Baker City again, I'd be happy to be a return guest.

Owner's Response: It was enjoyable to have Kurt here for the annual Baker City Classic Bicycling Race. He was a very respectful guest and left everything in the guest house very tidy. We always try to go to some of the races, as we are impressed with the athletes dedication and skills. We hope Kurt will be able to come again to Bogarts' Bed and Breakfast for this special event or on any other occasion.

First Choice for Baker City

  • 5 of 5
Bogarts Bed and Breakfast should be your first choice when visiting the Baker City area for business or pleasure. Patty and Mark provide wonderful hospitality along with a very comfortable place to relax. The neighborhood is convenient both to the highway and is within a short walk to all the restaurants downtown. The price is about the same as the hotels near the interstate with the smaller rooms, highway noise, no kitchen or living room. There is no reason to consider any other choice unless someone beat you to it.

Owner's Response: We were happy to know that Chris was pleased with his recent stay here at our Bed and Breakfast. We had some pleasant chats and always want our out of town (state or country) guests to feel at home and comfortable. We agree that our location is ideal, tucked away off the main streets, yet close to many of the attractions our city offers. We hope Chris will be able to join us again when coming to town on business.

Best B&B Ever!

Best B&B Ever!

This cottage is so WONDERFUL and the gourmet breakfasts that Patty serves are GREAT!!! We stayed for 7 nights and were served a different breakfast each morning. Patty and Mark are so generous to share this gem of a place in their backyard. It is immaculate, has AC which was nice to have when we visited with temps in the 80's, the walk in tiled shower is great, and the queen bed is very comfortable. All of our questions were answered about places to eat, visit, or explore. You cannot ask for a more fabulous place to stay.

Owner's Response: It was great to have Cheryl and Lynda at the Bed and Breakfast for a week's stay. They were able to have some of their breakfasts out in the gazebo, before the weather got too cool. We enjoyed our visits with them and were glad they were pleased with their breakfasts...it did expand my repertoire to come up with 7 different meals ( glad I had some good recipe books to use)! We hope they both will be able to return as our guests before too long.

Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5
Well, what can we add to the previous reviews? Nothing, this property and the hosts are exactly as described!

We spent this week in Baker for the skiing at Anthony Lakes, we did not have a reservation and made a last minute call to Bogart's. I spoke directly with Patty and was overwhelmed by her lovely spirit. We are familiar with Baker and wanted to visit some of our favorite diners for breakfast so we chose a "blended" B&B accommodations: Patty prepared breakfast for us the 2 days we skied and we fended for ourselves the rest of the mornings. It couldn't have worked out better and I have to say that the "to go" breakfasts provided by Patty were the best we had during our stay (The Inland Cafe is good but it's not Patty's home cooking).

Cozy accommodations, great location, fabulous hosts, what more can I say, we'll be back.

Owner's Response: We were happy to have Jeff and Gale as our guests. It was fun to prepare 2 breakfasts to go as they headed up the mountain to ski. We were glad that our guest house provided them with the relaxing get away that they needed. Anthony Lakes has had some good snow and we hope to get more winter enthusiasts our way soon. Not interested in the snow? Then cuddle in with breakfast brought to your kitchen door, watch a good movie or read a book by the cozy electric "fireplace". Whatever your purpose, we hope the privacy and personal touches of our guest house will make you want you to visit us too. We offer just lodging (at a reduced rate) if that is more suited to your needs than the breakfast option. Hope to see you soon at Bogarts' Bed and Breakfast!
