|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Experience all the Gulf Coast of Florida has to offer from your private pool house located in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from historic downtown Tarpon Springs--- an old Florida, Greek-American community.
As your home base, this newly purchased, decorated and furnished house provides the comforts and conveniences of home, promising a relaxed and rejuvenating experience. The spacious L-shaped classic Florida design places the bedrooms on opposite sides of the premise, ensuring privacy and solitude while providing ample common space in between for all.
Centrally located, the modern, fully equipped kitchen provides plenty of room to join (or watch) the 'chef of the day'. Hang out at the breakfast bar or enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage at the pub table in the kitchen nook. In addition, the open, adjoining dining room easily seats eight for meals or for a family evening of board games and socializing.
Moving into the living room, decorated with artwork in vibrant hues from local artists, cozy up on the two couches for an ideal escape in front of the large 48' LED Smart TV with your favorite program on cable, Netflix or Blu-Ray DVD. To the side, unwind to read, play cards, compete at Scrabble or simply draw these two over-stuffed chairs up to the TV area to join the crowd.
Calm colors in each bedroom encourage restful sleep. On one side of the house, the quest bedroom, equipped with a 32' LED flat screen TV, has a new queen size bed with a memory foam mattress for your comfort. The en suite has a large stall shower. On the other side of the house, the master bedroom also has a 32' cable TV and a new king size memory foam mattress on the bed. The en suite has double sinks and a shower/tub combination. The third bedroom---great for kids---has two love seats which convert to twin beds and shares the master bath. If not needed as a bedroom, curl up with a good book, set up your laptop (using the full house WiFi), or just get away to watch a different channel. The premise if fully air-conditioned, and ceiling fans are liberally placed throughout.
On a hot Florida day, there's nothing better than a screen-enclosed lanai and pool, surrounded by towering tropical plants. Relax with a sherbert---or drink--- in hand on the lanai. Take a leisurely dip, play Marco Polo with the kids, or get a workout with laps in the pool. There are stairs and a shallow end for the little ones---or for some of us 'older ones' who really want to enter slowly! The attached, heated spa is perfect for stiff muscles, cooler evenings or just warm-ups between swims. It's totally worth it if you're looking to unwind. Use the new, large, gas grill if going out to dinner is just not in the plans.
A double car garage and a laundry room are available for your needs.
This destination offers everything for every type of traveler---from the adventurous to those with no real destination or time frame in mind. Go deep sea fishing on a charter boat or kayak quietly through coves on Lake Tarpon. Stroll the downtown area of Tarpon Springs, a slow-paced fishing village-- a blend of Greek traditions, colorful canary yellow, deep salmon or enchanting turquoise shops, markets and restaurants. Walk across the street to the nationally known Sponge Docks and charter a boat or buy tickets for a dolphin cruise or an evening dinner and sunset cruise or even a gambling cruise out on the Gulf. Take a day trip to Busch Gardens or over to Orlando to Disney World, Sea World, or Universal Studios. Take a few minutes drive to Fred Howard Beach on the Gulf of Mexico, throw down your towels or beach chairs and relax in understated tropical comfort where its super-fine white sand and crystal-clear, calm waters await you to bask on an ever-sunny beach and then stay for the breathtaking sunset over the Gulf. Golf the world class PGA course at Innisbrook or blend in with the local golfers at the Tarpon Springs course in town or any of the other numerous courses in the area.
And the food! Enjoy the presentation of numerous traditional Greek restaurants for a culinary adventure or sample the ocean-to-table seafood of this area intricately tied to sea. After a day of wandering one of the best treasures of the old, cobbled stone sections of town perusing antique and gift stores, be sure to head back to dockside to the Greek bakeries for evening desserts--- incredibly scrumptious and, of course, low calorie!
A memorable trip occurs when the unexpected happens, when you truly get lost in a good way. Tarpon Springs offers you a little-discovered alternative to the crowds with easy access to all possibilities.
My husband, Michael, and I live in Binghamton, New York, where we grew up, raised our two children, and retired from our careers as teachers. Our son, Jonathan, still lives in NY, but Alison, our daughter, has forsaken the winters of the Northeast for the Sunshine State of Florida. She refuses to move back, hence our need to consider a second home in Florida!
Ann and Michael Maher purchased this house in 2013
We have visited our daughter a number of times since her move south and always enjoyed the varied and numerous activities so different from home. However, we never considered purchasing until she moved from the Tampa area to Tarpon Springs. We love this area---a fishing village with old Florida charm. Eventually, we'll leave the Northeast, too, and settle here-----just not yet!
Well, OUR unique benefit with this house is that Alison lives right down the street-----close enough to watch the house, mow the lawn and clean the pool! She's our Property Manager and is committed to taking care of any of your needs.
A clean, well designed home in a pleasant neighborhood minutes away from several dog parks, great restaurants and the 30 mile bike trail to Clearwater. It is also located an hour away from several MLB spring training camps. The owners were a phone call away in responding to any request and provide a catelog of resources for 1st time visitors to the area. Highly recommended!
Plenty of room in this home located in a quiet neighborhood. The pool, spa and patio area was delightful. Greek community was very interesting with wonderful restaurants, Hella's is a must. Beautiful beaches nearby. Owners were very helpful with suggestions of things to see and do.
