Residential neighborhood, lots of room, nice private backyard area. Not super fancy, but very homey, very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, lots of linens, good privacy. Nice neighbors. Service was excellent...very easy (keys in lockbox when we arrived). Nice neighbors. Very clean when we got there, and we left it very clean--and received a full refund on the damage deposit within about a week. A very fair deal. Would definitely recommend.
Our family of 9 (7 adults 2 small children) stayed here for four days in order to attend our son's wedding at the Precidio.
The location was good. It was fun to see Haight Ashbury again but depressing as well. We have enough homeless people with dogs in Vancouver so don't need to leave town for that.
The proximity to Golden Gate Park and Safeway was great.
I am fussy and didn't think that the kitchen was very clean; certainly not the drawers and under the sink. The kitchen was poorly stocked in terms of cooking for a family and the kitchen table upstairs was too small to accommodate us. There were no clothes for dish washing or drying, no dish liquid and limited bath linen. We each had one towel for the four days-not enough with so many events around a wedding and small children on board. The man who lives downstairs smokes and although we were warned against smoking while there (none of us smoke) his smoke came up through the vents the whole time that we were there. It was really bad in the second bedroom from the front door. We were told that there was a quiet time after 10:00 p.m. but the renters above partied all night, ran up and down stairs and had events that kept us all awake. I talked to one of them on Saturday afternoon but he explained that "they had a vibe going" and that the landlord was well aware of that. I explained that we had small children but Saturday night was a repeat of Friday even though I talked to the caretaker about the problem.
We had two rental cars and could only park one in front of the house. Neither would fit in the garage. On Saturday our son spent 90 minutes trying to find a parking spot after the wedding was over.
Not a good vibe for us!
Highly recommend this home. Interesting place to stay because gives you a more genuine feel for the city and how the locals live than you would in a hotel. The house itself is updated and has all the modern conveniences, but still has the character and charm of a typical San Francisco Victorian house.
We stayed here for one week with my wife and two children and best friend from college, his wife and their two children. We loved the house and the location is ideal. Plenty of room for the eight of us to spread out. Easy access to public transportation to attractions in San Francisco. Really nice gourmet kitchen too, if you feel like cooking. Safeway close and Whole Foods within walking distance. Both families had room for two rental cars that we used to drive to Yosemite National Park for two days. Loved being right next to Golden Gate Park. I like to run, and was able to take run through the park every morning. Nice play areas for the kids within walking distance too. The panhandle of the park literally borders the block the house is on. Nice having laundry available. The home was immaculate, very well maintained. Looked like had been updated recently. For some reason there are no pictures of the front of the house and that worried us a little, but the front is really pretty too. The house is on a quiet street perpendicular to Haight. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants nearby.
Not a typical cookie cutter suburban home. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.
