Bridgton is a lovely small community just an hour from Portland with all the amenities you need for a great vacation. There is a real sense of community here with local restaurants, pubs, shopping, and recreation. This home is just minutes away from grocery stores, hospital, and drug stores just in case you forget anything you need.
This house is truly designed and located for enjoyment throughout the year. There are two bedrooms on the main floor next to the great room with a large full bath. Upstairs is a full master suite with queen size bed and full bath including a jet tub. The master has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the lake for a glorious morning view. Downstairs is a pool table/play room and bedroom with bunk beds (F+twin) plus a half bath and laundry area.
During the summer, lake living is the focus. Highland Lake has exceptional water quality, and at 1400 acres, it is great for all kinds of boating, from sailboats to powerboats to canoes and kayaks. There are lots of options for hikes in the area as well, and big hikes in the White Mountains are a short drive. In addition, the attractions in North Conway, Jackson, and Pinkham Notch are close by. Waterfront is beautiful and crystal clear.
In the fall, the legendary New England colors are the big attraction. With a beautiful lake framed by the mountains, this is a wonderful place to experience one of nature’s greatest displays.
In the winter, the most popular activities are skiing at Shawnee Peak or Sunday River. Shawnee Peak offers tremendous terrain with impressive night skiing at some of the most affordable prices in New England. Sunday River is one of the premier destination ski resorts in the East. There are also lots of options for other snow sports, with cross-country skiing and an extensive network of snowmobiling trails nearby. To fight the winter chill, come home to a cozy fire in the fieldstone fireplace. The radiant heating throughout keeps the whole house toasty warm. Since the house was built in 2004, you will not have trouble staying warm in this modern abode.
