Loft Style Mansion on the River / Heated Pool is now OPEN for the 2013 Season!!

Huge open loft style on the banks of the Hudson.

Newly upgraded with 3 Master Suites with their own private bathrooms. Which brings the total number of bedrooms to 11.

On over 50 acres. This is a very private and remote location.

Kayaks provided.

With HEATED swimming pool and spa. Our pool is open (weather permitting) from March to November!

Go kayaking. Or walk along the Hudson River Beach.

The landscape is the setting for Hudson River School. It is still, simply, breath-taking.

Directly across from the city of Hudson....

You are also across the river from the city of Hudson , New York- the cultural center of the Hudson River Valley. Nearby the Cole House, Olana, and Windham mountains, in the foothills of Catskills.

You are close to Woodstock, New York.

The downstairs of the home is an open loft style. A huge dining room table with seating for up to 26 guests.

In the sitting area there is a 60 inch flat screened TV, DVD player and XBox gaming system. There is another large sitting room with a fireplace and a walk out deck.

At the end of the house, there is another large seating area (the gaming room), there is a wood stove, a pool table and a ping pong table. Plenty of seating for good conversations and lots of fun.

Great big open loft on the banks of the Hudson River. On over 50 acres. Kayaks provided. With newly installed, state of the art, heat pump for the swimming pool. And a wonderful, huge spa, just installed...

Across the river is the city of Hudson,New York: just 10 minutes by car.... the cultural center of the Hudson River Valley. Nearby is the Cole House, Olana, and Windham Mountain, in the foothills of Catskills. You are also close to Woodstock, New York.

Just a bit over 2 1/2 hours from NYC!

A little over one hour away from Saratoga Springs.... you can go to the racetrack or the casino.

Shakespeare On The Hudson:

Owen's background is in publishing: at the age of 30, he launched American Health magazine which won the National Magazine Award for Excellence, and later was owner and editor of several other magazines including Psychology Today, Mother Earth News and Spy. The Wall Street Journal called him the 'Wunderkind of the '80s.' Upon moving to the Hudson Valley, he became managing partner and editor-in-chief of InsideOut magazine.

Owen Lipstein — founder of Shakespeare on the Hudson — says that the next phase of Shakespeare on the Hudson has been 'the biggest project of [his] lifetime.' Call it, if you will, unfinished business. After purchasing the disparate properties that now make up the grounds of Shakespeare on the Hudson nearly 15 years ago, Owen has steadily been working towards turning it into a fully functioning, self-subsidizing cultural center. Shakespeare on the Hudson not only provides space for private events (such as weddings, parties, and romantic getaways for two), but cultural events, such as readings with authors and live, 'Inside the Actor's Studio'-style interviews with important figures who make the Hudson Valley their home. He also hopes to host adventure weekends for kayaking and rock climbing, organize birdwatching retreats, and have storytelling conferences that feature first-time authors to New York Times bestsellers.

Antiquing is the passion for many who come here. Saugerties, Hudson, Woodstock, Coxsackie and Athens are some treasures. The prices are, frankly, alot better than you are likely to find in NYC.

Striped Bass coming swarming up the river in later April- June.

It is not usual to pull a 25 pound fish out the river; this is one of the best places to fish. You can fish from Shore and catch your own herring from the Corlear Creek- which runs through the property.

I heard about this place from friends of mine that rented the house for Thanksgiving. We were a group of 18 that ventured from NYC up to the Catskills, and what an absolutely unbelievable weekend it was. The house is beautiful with a rustic cosy interior, huge windows in all rooms of the house that look onto the jacuzzi, swimming pool, forest and Hudson river. We played music as loud as we wanted all weekend, we stayed till late Sunday evening. With a game room filled with a ping pong table and pool table, it was truly a magical getaway in the Catskills. The house was warm, charming, very spacious with a fire place, cosy sofas and arm chairs and a heavenly kitchen ! Could not have wished for a better birthday weekend ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This was such a beautiful house. Spacious and open. The view of the river and the surrounding areas are exquisit. It was really nice to be able to sit in the hottub and look out over the river! The 2 wood-burning fireplaces were also a great addition to the weekend. I would have given it 5 stars if the hottub was bit hotter and the pool table was in better condition. I think the weather was too cold to get the hottub really hot. Other than that, it was a spectacular house!
Owner's Response: We are delighted that you guys enjoyed the house as much as you describe. Perhaps we did not show you that the temperature of our new spa can actually be adjusted upwards.... to 104! degrees, even in this cold. Sorry.

Amazing stay, Magical place!

This place was amazing!
If you want a secluded spot for many of your friends and still want to have many things close by, this is the place for you!
The house is beautiful, clean and neat.
The service is great, they even sent a couple of people to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed, half way thru our stay!
I would recommend this any day!
Going again soon hopefully!
Dont miss out!

Loved the Catskill Mansion

We had a fabulous time at the Mansion. The place was beautifully decorated with a historic yet modern feel to it. Windows throughout the place were breathtaking. It was truly an awesome space with ample room, more than we had anticipated, for our big crowd. We were all able to sit at the huge dining room table and eat and play games every night. Game room was an added bonus. Everything was clean and lovely, and for the most part, everything worked great. The grill was the only problem, as it did not get hot enough to cook anything throughly on it! We baked or fried in the kitchen which worked out fine with all the cast iron pans.
Suggestions for future would be maybe just more lighting at night out by the jacuzzi (which was awesome) and or pool area and maybe some more seating. Oh, and a fire ring/pit would make the place PERFECT!!
Suede was great, pleasant and helpful and easy to get to if we needed anything.
We very much enjoyed our stay and are looking to re-book for next fall!!

It sounds as if the propane tank on the grill was running out. I wish you had called and told us: there were refills on site.

Breathtaking!

The River House is a beauty! One of the nicest I have EVER rented! From the day I booked it, to our arrival and departure, I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Owen was a pleasure to speak with and always available for questions.

We booked our stay for a family reunion and found it incredible. We were greeted upon arrival (which usually doesnt happen with rentals) by Suede who gave us the house tour. He took his time and was very polite and courteous.

The house is clean, open, spacious, well decorated and has great detail as well as decor. There is so much light flowing into the house and we were amazed watching the sunrise and sunsets from the decks.

The pool area is extremely unique and we had never seen anything like it. The brick structure with window panes around the pool is fabulous. The hot tub is situated perfectly near the pool, on the back of the property looking directly out to the Hudson River. It is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly placed.

I cannot say enough about the views from this home; they are absolutely breathtaking. We are already planning next year's trip back to "The River House."
