Our home is perfectly located in the middle of Kauai's most beautiful private beach. This breathtaking crescent-shaped bay, known as Moloaa, offers romance solitude and seclusion, while only minutes away from nearby towns.
This new, Mediterranean-style villa is an exceptional beachfront experience. Designed as a duplex that opens when needed into one house, this sturdy, solid, quiet home offers three different sizes to fit your vacation needs (you will only hear the sound of the surf).
The Two Bedroom Suite on right side features an open living room with full breathtaking ocean views and a well-equipped kitchen, dining and full laundry. Two separate bedrooms, both with queen size beds, have ocean, beach and mountain views. Marble baths feature a whirlpool Jacuzzi tub to quickly relieve jet lag and allow you to settle into island life.
The spacious, full ocean view, Studio Suite on the left side features a king-size bed and living area, small separate bedroom, master bathroom and an extra bathroom. Pamper yourself as you unwind in the luxury of marble baths featuring a whirlpool Jacuzzi tub made for two. The kitchen is complete with full cooking/cleaning amenities as well as laundry.
The whole home can be rented as well, and by opening a door you can connect these two fully equipped and otherwise independent sides. Throughout you will enjoy glorious over sized windows that bring your spectacular ocean views indoors.
Your favorite memories may come when you retreat to the roof-top lanai, (deck). Sitting atop the 25-foot majestic columns, take in the beautiful vista firsthand. Perfect for sunbathing by day, stargazing by night. Always enjoying the wonderful tropical trade winds that make Hawaii unique in the South Pacific.

Keywords: Modern, beachfront, on the ocean, beautiful views, ocean front, on the beach. An incomparable Kauai experience. Huge roof top deck for sunbathing, whale watching and sunset dinners. Secluded, private, quiet (excepting the surf).
Sharon and I stumbled on this house together and knew we had found our paradise. Moloaa Bay is private and quiet and has everything you have been dreaming about. There is a wonderful calm area to the right for small children. Another area closer in on the right is perfect for wave jumping, riding and boogie boarding. To the left is a lagoon that is so beautiful it still takes our breath away every time. It changes with the tide, season, and rain flow. Further to the left is a great place for snorkeling. The left side is also where the turtles and monk seals can most often be found.
Sharon also likes how close our location is to other towns. She enjoys the lattes, baked goods and pizza only ten minutes away in Kilauea. I like that Kapaa is only 15 minutes away so I can get supplies quickly and get back home. And, we both appreciate the beautiful 20 minute drive to Princeville and Hanalei. Breath taking everytime.
What an absolutely exquisite retreat on the very edge of the sea! The sound of the surf lulls you to sleep after you have luxuriated on the rooftop deck under a sparkling night sky full of stars. You can have your morning coffee while gazing down at the sea, watching turtles swimming across the bay and sometimes rare monk seals sunning themselves on the sand. It's literally steps to the beautiful secluded beach, which rarely has more than a handful of people. It's easy to imagine that you are on a deserted island. In fact, the enchanting Maloaa lagoon was once the filming location for part of the famed "Gilligan's Island" series. Both Peter and Sharon are attentive and engaging hosts who have truly thought of everything. From the comfortably appointed bedrooms and kitchen, the jacuzzi bathtub, the outdoor shower, beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc., there is literally no reason to leave this magical place. But if you want to venture forth it's only a short drive to the nearest towns, the charming Hanalei (of Puff the Magic Dragon renown) and the extraordinary Na Pali coast trail. If you really like the idea of getting away from it all, this is absolutely an outstanding spot!
I know I will return again....and again.
Here it's all about the view: while some of the other Moloa'a Bay properties may be ocean front, not many can say that you can see nothing but the ocean out the front windows while sitting on the (very comfortable) couch! And being able to listen to the waves the entire time was very relaxing. The rooftop deck is also amazing. We loved to go up at night and watch the stars and the moon (who knew that there were really that many stars?).
Moloa'a Bay is a very beautiful beach that is off the beaten path. It never felt too crowded, but because parking spaces are limited some visitors have to park a bit away and walk down to the beach. Not us! It was so nice to drive by all those cars and not have to worry about where we were going to park since we had our own dedicated space under the house. And the beach is RIGHT THERE. No having to schlep all our equipment down the road to the beach access... just out the front entryway and there you are at the sand.
We had the good fortune to spend our last 5 nights on Kauai in the two bedroom suite side. It was very comfortable and had everything that we needed while there.
One word of warning: it was VERY hard to want to leave to do anything. I was glad that we had done the majority of our "big" day trips earlier in the vacation, because when we came here it was so beautiful all we wanted to do was go out to the beach, relax on the couch, or spend time on the rooftop deck.
This is an amazing place and I feel very blessed that the owners share it with us. Can't wait to come back!
This was the most amazing vacation/honeymoon in the entire world! Originally my husband and I contacted Pete because we planned to be married in Hawaii with our two kids (10 and 15), he was so gracious giving us referrals for all the wedding accomadations etc., unfortunately our families convinced us to be married at home, but there was no way we were not keeping our plans to stay in this house! I cannot express how beautiful this house is! I read the description above again before starting this review and was thinking the entire time, "yes, exactly, yep, stargazing we were"-- just stunning! We BBQ'ed, we ate breakfast on the deck, my husband cooked everyday!
Pete set us up with everything we needed prior to our arrival. He sent a very detailed email with all the grocery stores, activities, anything you could think of he let us know about.
We had questions here and there about local entertainment and what not and Pete emailed us back right away. I just can't say enough about this experience.
I was so worried traveling with our kids for the first time this far from home and thinking of all the worst things that could happen, but when we got there, it was like home, BUT 90 MILLION TIMES the scenery. The waves crashing, the beautiful deck, the sun, even the neighbors were wonderful. Everyone was so pleasant! So basically what I am saying I guess is that if you are THINKING of going, think no more!
Mahalo Pete! Can't wait to visit "our home away from home" soon!
Oh, P.S. one piece of advice, shop at Wal-Mart for food, that's the only thing we should have done, we went to one of the closer grocery stores, which was just fine, but there was a price difference and we were just too excited to get back to the house to go to that Wal-Mart until the last day. It's right next to the airport, I tell you... excitement is the only reason we flew right by. hahaha!
WOW!!! that is the word all eight of us said the minute we walked into both units. The ocean views were unbelievable, both places were more than we expected. We had enough living space for us and the extras such as beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel equipment was a nice touch. Peter was a pleasure to deal with and responded to all of my emails thus answering my unknown questions.
We only had one problem, which was one of the dishwashers quit working but Peter was willing to get it fixed the next day but since we only had two days left we opted to limp along with the smaller unit's dishwasher.
We had a wonderful vacation and have already recommended it to friends that are looking for a place on Kauai. If you are looking for a private setting with wonderful views this is the place for you!
I hesistate to write this review because (1) I do not typically write reviews and (2) more significantly, this house is so great, I would prefer to keep it a secret so we can go back any time, which I would do in a heartbeat. We had eight people in our party, aged 2 years old to 59 and we all had a great time. We took the full house and it worked great. I was particularly impressed with how responsive the owner is. The outdoor hot showers are a real treat to rinse off in after snorkling or body surfing. Moloaa Bay is such a beautiful and secluded area and this house is a great way to experience all that the bay has to offer.
There are no words to describe the beauty of Moloaa Bay, the home and the island of Kauai. Everything is just as described. The house was clean and the owner was more than helpful when I was making the reservations. The house was well stocked and the caretaker was more than willing to fill up the propane tank for the grill. The roof top deck was great-loved sitting out in the evening with our Mai Tai's and looking at the ocean. Our favorite restaurant was Kalypso's at Hanalei Bay (recommend the fish and chips) The only thing I would change about the house is the bathroom, would like to have a stand alone shower verses the tub with shower, but would still recommend house and when we come back to Kauai I will stay here again!!
This is the most private off the beaten path beach/bay on the north shore of Kauai. It opens to the east and is usually calm with a wide variety of beach areas - from calm (perfect for the little ones) to active (great boogie boarding and body surfing). Great tide pools too !!
