Best Hawaii Experience Ever!

We have been to Hawaii many times and have never had such a great and relaxing time as we spent at the Meadow Cottage. It was so very relaxing. Each morning we woke to the sound of the birds singing. The grounds and the property were very well kept. The beaches we found near the Meadow Cottage were lovely. The small town of Haiku had great local food. It was better than the resort that we spent the next week at. We are planning and hoping to return to this amazing place again. Thanks Benni for a wonderful and memorable time.

Owner's Response: My wife and children and I lived in Meadow Cottage from the time we built it until three years ago. It's not the fanciest cottage in the world but it is clean, bright, roomy, airy and quiet. One of the things we really like about it is that, together with the Haiku Cannery Inn B&B, it sits on a flag lot comprised of three secluded acres that are set two lots back from the road. Also, the Cottage is upwind of the neighboring homes which means we rarely hear sounds from the road or other houses. And, because the Cottage is separated from neighboring homes by a rainforested gulch, we don't see other homes either. On two sides of the Cottage is a large pasture with wild pheasants and black francolin game birds and sweeping views south to the Koolau Gap of Haleakala Crater.
Despite feeling secluded and private, the Cottage is walking distance to shopping and dining in Haiku and actually quite close to Paia and Makawao Towns, beaches, and the rest of Maui. So it's easy to get places quickly and get together with other people.
As far as climate goes, like all of East Maui, we do get rain. Sometimes more rain than we'd like. But, that's what keeps it green and cool. And the Cottage is at the western edge of the East Maui rainforest so it's cool and green but not too wet and if it's raining it's just a few minutes drive to sunny beaches.
We also welcome families with young children. Meadow Cottage has a half-acre yard and the three acres of the property include places to explore and many fruit trees. We have toys and books for children in the Cottage. It's a fun place for kids.
PLEASE NOTE: Meadow Cottage has wi-fi access and there is a house phone in the adjacent B&B, but there is no TV or cable. We find that our guests relax and connect with one another best when electronic entertainment is not provided.
We look forward to hosting you on your next visit to Maui.
Marc.
