Hi! We are Beverly and Carole, who are the owners at 823. We live on the first and second floors of our home. We welcome you to a comfortable stay in our studio apartment
Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh purchased this studio in 2005
Our home is situated in an up and coming section of Bed Sty. It is a 10 minute car drive to both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. We enjoy the conveniences to activities in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan. We like the vibe of the neighborhood and the diverse population.
We fell in love with this house because of the backyard space. We created a private space in our back yard to enjoy when we need to unwind. It makes us feel like we are in the country in the city. We like to entertain and having friends and family over to enjoy the space with us.
We stayed with Carole for four days. In simple words amazing the studio is just as beautiful and cozy as shown in the site. Carole is very nice and amazing person. They stay was just awesome. I recommend this place is beautiful and Carole is just amazing. Thank you for amazing hospitality.
It was a very comfortable and cute apartment in a good location in Brooklyn. Furthermore it was very clean and the owners super friendly and provided a perfect customer service. The busstop is right in front of the house, which gets you down to the DeKalb Subway station. From there, if you catch the line Q or N, you are in 10 minutes at the Times Square. There is a small supermarket on the opposite side of the house. So everything is accurate like in the description.
Wifi and heating work properly. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and relatives.
The only minus point is that you can hear the noises from the street quite well, but this is New York :-D
Carole was suh a great host. We only saw her when we checked in and out, but she gave us her number in case we needed anything or any suggestions. She had snacks and pop and water and enough keys for ever home staying. Also, she left directions for buses and subways each direction. The apartment was so cute, cozy and quiet. The neighborhood is great and it's about 10 minute drive to the subway and you can get in and out of the city very easily.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for four weeks and we had a wonderful time! The owners Carole and Beverly were incredibly warm and welcoming—we got fresh-baked banana bread on arrival, as well as plenty of snacks and sodas to get us started. When we arrived the place was clean and tidy and we were greeted warmly. We were shown how to use the wifi and the shower etc, which I appreciated very much, because it made things so much easier for us weary travellers!
Carole was always happy to help with any questions we might have, and she was full of great advice about things to do in NYC, such as Brooklyn Bridge Park, which ended up being one of my favourite places we visited on the whole trip! If we needed anything or had any questions we could email or call, they were very approachable people. (And of course Carole and Beverly live just two floors down if you need them.)
We also used Pratt car service to get to the airport when we left, at Carole's suggestion. Pratt was great and arrived right on time, prices exactly as they said. Would definitely use them again, much cheaper than a taxi!
The subway station was only a short walk away (about 10 minutes), and I always felt safe in the neighbourhood, even at night, so that was a plus! There was a community garden on Hart Street that we passed every day on our way out, and it was always full of adorable cats which occasionally followed us as we walked. As a cat lover I looked forward to seeing which cats were there each day! The neighbourhood had a nice vibe overall.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in NYC, especially for this price. I had no complaints! I hope I can visit again someday.
We (my mom and I) stayed at this beautiful apartment on 2nd floor for 3 nights. We hadn't even gotten out of the Taxi when Carole greeted us. She is a wonderful person. She helped us carry our super heavy bags up and explained everything to us - where to eat (we did go to Graziella's and absolutely loved it - thanks for the great tip). She gave us many great tips, which we appreciated. The apartment is very modern and beautifully furnished. The bed is extremely comfortable and everything you might need is there. Also, very clean! Great kitchen. We would stay here anytime again and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you!
The studio exceeded our expectation it's very well organized, clean and comfortable as your own home. The amenities in the kitchen and bathroom were a big surprise.
The owners are very supportive and friendly, they are always concerned about your staying that it was wonderful.
It's located near a bus stop and subway to get to Manhattan or anywhere.
We definitely recommend the studio.
We are located in the up and coming section of Brooklyn in historic Bedford Stuyvesant. Our home is right on DeKalb Avenue just steps away from the B38 bus to Downtown Brooklyn. It's a ten minute bus ride to a strip of fantastic restaurants, Fort Greene Park, the Barclay Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets and the venue for concerts and BAM. Take a stroll through Pratt Institute's Sculpture Garden which is only 7 minutes away by bus. Have a slice of Juniors famous cheesecake only 15 minutes away by bus, before you connect to the B,Q, N or R train to New York City right on the corner of Juniors. Stroll through the mall near Barclay Center where you will find stores such as Target, Marshalls, Uniqlo and DSW. Or explore the newly reorganized and rapidly changing Fulton Mall near Juniors in which you will find Macys, Aeropostale, Aldo, American Apparel, Armani Exchange, Banana Republic,Brooklyn Industries to name a few. We are very close to the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park where you will find the most spectacular views of NYC between 2 bridges. Brooklyn Bridge Park offers free outdoor movies in the summer with the NYC skyline as a backdrop, Beach Volleyball courts, Kayacking,
and the famous Janes Carousel where, for 2 dollars, young or old, you will enjoy this. There are fun parks within the park for children and a scenic bike path. Food festivals are a regular attraction at this park. Citibikes are available a few blocks from us, where you can rent a bike and use the bike lanes made available, we will supply maps. Prospect Park is also nearby Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Museum and the Zoo. A large green market takes place during the summer at the edge of Prospect Park and also every Saturday at Fort Greene Park. Many farmers from upstate New York attend these markets as well as every Wednesday near Union Square Manhattan, a short ride on the D train.
There are a number of public parks and a public pool (Kosciuszko Pool) which is 3 blocks from our house. There is so much to do in Brooklyn, so many restaurants and bars near our home and in the nearby Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. We are centrally located and a very easy commute to all attractions.
You will have a great time and we will help you navigate your way around town. We are gay friendly and straight friendly. Family with children welcome!
