About Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh

Hi! We are Beverly and Carole, who are the owners at 823. We live on the first and second floors of our home. We welcome you to a comfortable stay in our studio apartment

Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh purchased this studio in 2005

Why Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh chose Brooklyn

Our home is situated in an up and coming section of Bed Sty. It is a 10 minute car drive to both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. We enjoy the conveniences to activities in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan. We like the vibe of the neighborhood and the diverse population.

What makes this studio unique

We fell in love with this house because of the backyard space. We created a private space in our back yard to enjoy when we need to unwind. It makes us feel like we are in the country in the city. We like to entertain and having friends and family over to enjoy the space with us.

Helpful hosts, beautiful and comfortable apartment

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is located steps away from a bus stop that provides easy access to all other public transportation. The apartment itself is beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The hosts provided helpful information and answered all of our questions as needed. This made it seem more like a bed and breakfast. We visited the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick, and Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt's apartment; enjoyed walking over the Brooklyn Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge Park. We saw a Broadway play and it was over-the-top entertaining with top-notch acting (Skylight at the Golden Theater). We will definitely be back to this lovely apartment again!

Beautiful & comfortable space

  • 5 of 5

The host Carole is most friendly, responsive, and flexible. The living/bedroom combo, separate kitchen/dining, and a clean bath (stocked with all necessities) make this a great studio for my husband and me exploring Brooklyn for the first time. Carole keeps the place very clean and decors very pleasing. Snacks, bottle water and fruits provided are a total surprise -- we appreciate Carole's generosity. Location is not the highly sought-after pockets of Brooklyn, but the lower nightly rates more than make up for it. The apartment is a loft with slanted ceilings, low at two ends. Road noises surprised us, but fortunately I'm a deep sleeper. Bed, linens and towels are of high quality. All in all, we got more than we paid for. Thank you Carole.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review. I appreciate the feedback very much. We try and make our guests feel as comfortable as we would like to be. Because we live in Brooklyn, which is the 4th largest city in the United States in regards to population. NYC (even without Brooklyn) is number 1, followed by LA and Chicago who barely beats us at number 3. Noises of this busy city are common. We live only 10 minutes by car from any of the bridges crossing the Hudson River into the city which is a very desirable location as evidenced by the huge influx of new residents buying into and renting in our area from all over the US and overseas. It is a wonderful diverse neighborhood.

Everything was perfect

We (me and my husband) have been there for one week in April ´15 and it was such a nice stay.

The apartment war perfect and it was just a short ride by bus or subway to Manhattan or Brooklyn Downtown. We have done a lot of excursions and it was always nice to come back to such a loveley place to relax.

The apartment is equipped with everything you might need during your stay.

Thank you very much,

Anja

Owner's Response: And we had a great time hosting you! The girls are lovely. We are so happy that you found your way around and you did so much in 4 days! You found things we didn't even know existed in New York. (And I bet you are eating your waffles with meat now! LOL! ) I am glad you mentioned about the bus right outside, it is a big convenience even to us to have quick transportation just outside. Please come back and stay with us again if you ever visit New York in the future. All the best! C&B

THIS IS THE BEST RENTAL IN BROOKLYN !

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I spent a wonderful 6 days/5 nights in this very comfortable apartment. The rental was spotless, very nicely decorated and the large king bed was extremely comfortable. The location was perfect to explore Brooklyn...and Manhattan. The bus B38 stop right in front of the building and brings you to a subway for easy and safe commute. But best of all it's the proud owners of this pristine rental...who takes great care of there guests...

Felt like family...was even treated with fresh baked banana loaf !

THANKS CAROLE AND BEVERLY for those fantastic days in Brooklyn !

Your apartment was more then perfect and we will be back for sure...

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay in the apartment! You both were such a pleasure to host. Thank you for the compliments! We do all of our own cleaning so we know the apartment is up to our standards. I am glad you found the bus out in front so convenient. I try to explain to our future guests that the bus out front is the quickest way to get to Manhattan because it takes you a few blocks from the Manhattan bridge on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. At the train station on Flatbush, the next stop on the train over the Manhattan bridge is lower Manhattan. So it is very quick. Thank you for staying with us and yes, please return! All the best, C&B

WONDERFUL

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were in Brooklyn for the A10 basketball tournament. Carol's place fit the bill to a Tee! Very comfortable space, conveniently equipped with light refreshments - coffee, cereal, fruit and snacks. Carol made the visit for us. We drove. We were off course arriving... called Carol and she guided us in. We wanted to move around and tour a bit. Carol gave us all we needed...great your ideas (Brooklyn Bridge Walk, Freedom Plaza, Chinatown, et al). We needed some public transportation and ideas for local restaurants. Carol equipped us with the scoop). Felt more like a B & B than a VRBO rental. Highly recommend and will likely return for the A10 next year! Thank you Carol. Dianne & Wayne Dementi.

Owner's Response: Thanks Dianne and Wane. It was such a pleasure hosting both of you. I'm glad I was able to help you with directions and places to eat and places to visit. I am also very happy you liked the apartment and what we offer our guests. We hoped that you were comfortable and enjoyed your stay. I want to than you again for your gorgeous chicken eggs. I never ate such fresh and colourful eggs before! That was so nice of you to think of us. Please come back anytime and I hope for a better ending to your team's season next year. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us.
