Hi! We are Beverly and Carole, who are the owners at 823. We live on the first and second floors of our home. We welcome you to a comfortable stay in our studio apartment
Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh purchased this studio in 2005
Our home is situated in an up and coming section of Bed Sty. It is a 10 minute car drive to both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. We enjoy the conveniences to activities in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan. We like the vibe of the neighborhood and the diverse population.
We fell in love with this house because of the backyard space. We created a private space in our back yard to enjoy when we need to unwind. It makes us feel like we are in the country in the city. We like to entertain and having friends and family over to enjoy the space with us.
This apartment is located steps away from a bus stop that provides easy access to all other public transportation. The apartment itself is beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The hosts provided helpful information and answered all of our questions as needed. This made it seem more like a bed and breakfast. We visited the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick, and Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt's apartment; enjoyed walking over the Brooklyn Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge Park. We saw a Broadway play and it was over-the-top entertaining with top-notch acting (Skylight at the Golden Theater). We will definitely be back to this lovely apartment again!
The host Carole is most friendly, responsive, and flexible. The living/bedroom combo, separate kitchen/dining, and a clean bath (stocked with all necessities) make this a great studio for my husband and me exploring Brooklyn for the first time. Carole keeps the place very clean and decors very pleasing. Snacks, bottle water and fruits provided are a total surprise -- we appreciate Carole's generosity. Location is not the highly sought-after pockets of Brooklyn, but the lower nightly rates more than make up for it. The apartment is a loft with slanted ceilings, low at two ends. Road noises surprised us, but fortunately I'm a deep sleeper. Bed, linens and towels are of high quality. All in all, we got more than we paid for. Thank you Carole.
We (me and my husband) have been there for one week in April ´15 and it was such a nice stay.
The apartment war perfect and it was just a short ride by bus or subway to Manhattan or Brooklyn Downtown. We have done a lot of excursions and it was always nice to come back to such a loveley place to relax.
The apartment is equipped with everything you might need during your stay.
Thank you very much,
Thank you Carol and Bev for the wonderfull time ! Everything was more than ok !
It is the perfect place to stay over to visit New York. In front of the door the busstop to the metro. Carol and Bev helped us with everything. Very clean house. If I could, i would give 6 stars ! My daughters had a great time !!!!
My daughter and I spent a wonderful 6 days/5 nights in this very comfortable apartment. The rental was spotless, very nicely decorated and the large king bed was extremely comfortable. The location was perfect to explore Brooklyn...and Manhattan. The bus B38 stop right in front of the building and brings you to a subway for easy and safe commute. But best of all it's the proud owners of this pristine rental...who takes great care of there guests...
Felt like family...was even treated with fresh baked banana loaf !
THANKS CAROLE AND BEVERLY for those fantastic days in Brooklyn !
Your apartment was more then perfect and we will be back for sure...

My wife and I were in Brooklyn for the A10 basketball tournament. Carol's place fit the bill to a Tee! Very comfortable space, conveniently equipped with light refreshments - coffee, cereal, fruit and snacks. Carol made the visit for us. We drove. We were off course arriving... called Carol and she guided us in. We wanted to move around and tour a bit. Carol gave us all we needed...great your ideas (Brooklyn Bridge Walk, Freedom Plaza, Chinatown, et al). We needed some public transportation and ideas for local restaurants. Carol equipped us with the scoop). Felt more like a B & B than a VRBO rental. Highly recommend and will likely return for the A10 next year! Thank you Carol. Dianne & Wayne Dementi.
We are located in the up and coming section of Brooklyn in historic Bedford Stuyvesant. Our home is right on DeKalb Avenue just steps away from the B38 bus to Downtown Brooklyn. Take a stroll through Pratt Institute's Sculpture Garden which is only 7 minutes away by bus. Have a slice of Juniors famous cheesecake only 15 minutes away by bus, before you connect to the B,Q, N or R train to New York City right on the corner of Juniors. Stroll through the mall near Barclay Center where you will find stores such as Target, Marshalls, Uniqlo and DSW. Or explore the newly reorganized and rapidly changing Fulton Mall near Juniors in which you will find Macys, Aeropostale, Aldo, American Apparel, Armani Exchange, Banana Republic,Brooklyn Industries to name a few. We are very close to the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park where you will find the most spectacular views of NYC between 2 bridges. Brooklyn Bridge Park offers free outdoor movies in the summer with the NYC skyline as a backdrop, Beach Volleyball courts, Kayacking,
and the famous Janes Carousel where, for 2 dollars, young or old, you will enjoy this. There are fun parks within the park for children and a scenic bike path. Food festivals are a regular attraction at this park. Citibikes are available a few blocks from us, where you can rent a bike and use the bike lanes made available, we will supply maps. Prospect Park is also nearby Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Museum and the Zoo. A large green market takes place during the summer at the edge of Prospect Park and also every Saturday at Fort Greene Park. Many farmers from upstate New York attend these markets as well as every Wednesday near Union Square Manhattan, a short ride on the D train.
There are a number of public parks and a public pool (Kosciuszko Pool) which is 3 blocks from our house. There is so much to do in Brooklyn, so many restaurants and bars near our home and in the nearby Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. We are centrally located and a very easy commute to all attractions.
