Cancun Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Wake up to the sun glistening across the ocean, feel the seabreeze as you enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony, & if you are there the right time of the month, dim the lights (almost all lights have dimmers), and let the moon shining across the water enhance those romantic nights.

Amara Cancun is a newer complex with guarded, gated entrance, security 24/7, & walkways meandering thru the gardens leading to the BBQ grill area, restaurants at 2 palapas, pool, & beach. Wonderful panaramic views of the Caribbean Sea, Isla Mujeres, & the coastline toward the Hotel Zone.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, second bedroom has a queen size bed (both of these rooms have built-in closets & drawers as well as night stands & dressers so storage for clothes is plentiful), there is a small 3rd room with bunk beds, plus a sleeper sofa in the TV room with a queen size pull out bed, so the condo will sleep 8 people very comfortably.

2 bedrooms have safes in the closet just in case you want that extra secure feeling for your jewelry, cash, passports, etc.

Attention Ladies: All 3 bathrooms have wall mounted hair dryers. The guest bath & 3rd bath have wall mounted, lighted, magnifying mirrors, & the master suite has a lighted magnifying mirror on the built-in makeup counter. All 3 baths are stocked with cotton rounds & Q-tips.

With both living room & TV room there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and there's a large dining room with long table & 8 chairs, 4 bar stools, & fully equiped kitchen, not just the bare essentials either. When we used to travel to different areas I learned to pack saran wrap, aluminum foil, zip lock bags, etc. I wanted others to enjoy the condo & have all these items already conveniently in place.

Each air conditioning unit has it's own remote control, & ceiling fans have individual remote controls. Master bedroom, 2nd bedroom, & TV room have wall mounted flat screen TV's. Master bedroom has Blue Ray DVD, TV room has Blue Ray DVD & Home Theatre with surround sound, & there's wireless internet.

Laundry room is stocked with laundry detergent, Oxy clean, bounce fabric softener sheets, spray starch, iron & ironing board, broom, vacuum cleaner, etc. All linens as well as beach towels are provided, so all you have to pack are your clothes & personal toiletries.

There are numerous upgrades and additions to this condo from the typical unit there. We wanted it to be very nice, comfortable, & feel like home for others to enjoy, as well as ourselves & family & friends that join us.

If you have your own car or rental car, there are 2 outside assigned parking spaces, & an additional assigned space in the covered garage, conveniently located at the foot of the stairs & just a few feet from the elevator. There are 2 carts next to the elevator to transport luggage & groceries from your car or taxi to the condo. Please be courteous to others & return the carts as soon as you are finished wth them.

Extra convenient store is across the street, Oxxo convenienet store and McDonalds (sorry, McDonalds closed) is a short walk up the street (about a block) next to the Terminal, where you can also take the ferry to Isla Mujeres.

There are a lot of shopping markets, such as Market 28 downtown, & several malls including Plaza Kukulcan, Plaza la Isla, Plaza Flamingo, and Plaza Forum in the Hotel Zone, & Las Americas on Tulum. Suparama by Wal-Mart grocery is just a few minutes away on Av. Bonampak, plus Wal-Mart, Sams, & Costco closer to downtown. Other large stores similar to Wal-mart are: Chedraui, Mega. & Soriana. All these have bakeries with a wide variety of fresh breads & pastries. You can get fresh Lobster & fish from the fisherman at the beach or across the street. When you want to take a break from cooking at the condo, there is an array of resturants all around Cancun to satisfy whatever type food you desire. Be sure to try some of the authentic Mexican restaurants, a couple are within walking distance, & most are reasonably priced. However, some of the American known restaurants are pricy.

If you are energetic & like day time adventure & nightlife, there are plenty of options such as: swimming with the Dolphins, Tulum, Xcaret, Chit enitza, Senor Frogs, Carlos N Charlies, Coco Bongos (we highly recommend if you like high energy, music, & shows every few minutes - we have taken several people & they are amazed- say it's much more than they expected).

We can give you information for you to arrange convenient transportation from & to the airport (additional fee). They will meet you at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it, then carry you in a private van straight to the condo. The company can also schedule tours & activities (additional fees) for your enjoyment.

We have a fabulous property manager that will meet you at the condo upon your arrival, give you keys, explain things about the condo, then meet with you again just before your departure. Cleaning before you arrive and after you depart is done at no charge to you. Also if you should like to have cleaning services during the week she will schedule a member of her team for a small fee (currently $35 which includes up to 4 hours of service). It is my understanding that you could include in this time frame for breakfast or lunch snacks to be prepared for you there at the condo. That's a deal.

Just so you will know, since we were last there, a gym, kid's club, & 2 restaurants have opened so do not have photos of them on the VRBO site yet. Have been told by travelers that stayed at our condo & by another owner that the 1st restaurant is good, has very good prices & the people running it are friendly. It is located at the large palapa, just steps away from the pool. Was also told recently that the 2nd restaurant opened at the pool side palapa, which has built-in pool stools to sit at, & is run by the same people. We think it is great that restaurants are now open right there at Amara - so convenient.

So whether you want a vacation packed with activities, simply time to relax, or a balanced combination of both, Cancun & Amara has it all for you.

An excellent hidden gem in Cancun!

  • 5 of 5
This is a wonderful condo in north Cancun that keeps you out of the hustle of the usual Hotel Zone thrash. Susie graciously worked with our party of five on extremely short notice when our original rental in Puerto Morelos ended up an un-airconditioned nightmare. She was wonderful to deal with on the phone and ensured our arrival went without a hitch. Her on-site property manager, Bego, had the condo cleaned and spotless when we arrived.

We had booked a house in Puerto Morelos for our daughter's graduation summer trip that turned out to be not what was expected. After a frantic search on VRBO we discovered this truly hidden gem. The online pictures truly don't do it justice. The two main bedrooms are perfectly sized with their own bathrooms and the third is great for kids as it has bunk beds and it's own ensuite bath as well. The kitchen works well with every sort of utensil and small appliance you could ask for. The main dining table seats 8 and leads into the main living space. The two sectionals are crazy comfy and are perfect for viewing the large flat screen TV. The second floor view of the complex is delightful and the green waters of the Caribbean are a hundred yards away. Oh, and did I mention the Carrier air conditioners? They're fabulous and keep the condo as cool as you want with no fuss.

The real secret of this complex is the pool, garden and grounds. The grounds are meticulously maintained by conscientious workers and lead to a fabulous pool with a shallow walk-in that leads to a 4.5' deep pool perfect for kids and adults alike. There are dozens of chaise lounges around the perimeter of the pool on the ocean side as well as under shaded wooden pergolas. A large palapa has a restaurant available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's fabulous as well.

The pool overlooks the ocean and is open until 11:00 pm, great for a nighttime dip.

Security is flawless and friendly. There are security guards at each entrance and roaming guards on site who ensure you feel safe at every turn. Everyone we encountered was extremely professional and truly enjoyed their job. My wife commented that she felt completely safe during our entire stay.

The condo is spacious and truly a high-end experience. The furnishings, decor and appointments made the week so very memorable and enjoyable. Don't miss out on the glowing tree in the living room!

If you want a relaxing week, stay here and avoid the hassle of the Hotel Zone!

Owner's Response: What a wonderful review. One every property owner would be proud of. Thank you so much David. Seems our time & efforts in setting up & decorating the condo provided what we intended - an up scale vacation property where travelers can be comfortable & have the conveniences of home. Glad we were able to turn a not so pleasant situation into a pleasant one on a moments notice for your family Cancun vacation. You pointed out a number of features in our condo & facilities at Amara Cancun that will be very informative & helpful for other travelers when planning their vacation. We appreciate that. I should have had you do the write up for our property on VRBO! So glad you enjoyed your stay & hope you will return again.

Thanks,
Susie & Ray

3 Great Weeks

  • 5 of 5
This condo is beautiful. There were 7 of us and we never felt cramped. Having the 3 bathrooms and the washer, dryer made live so easy. The kitchen was fully stocked and the entire place was comfortable. We felt no need for a car. It was no problem getting a taxi or small bus at the gate. The R1 bus which goes to the hotel zone is often right at the port, just a short walk. If you want to explore any beach or any spots in the hotel zone one bus takes you any where. The security was very good and the grounds were beautiful. The owners and the manager we very helpful and the communication was excellent. We found the location to be great, just a walk to the port, easy access to shopping, restaurants and the ADO bus station down town. The ADO bus goes anywhere you would desire, there is also the Playa Express vans that are cheaper and will stop along the way, Puerto Morelos is a great day trip and the snorkeling was fantastic. We had a great time and would stay again in a heart beat.

Family vacation

  • 4 of 5
We rented a car, and after figuring out the city the first day, getting around was easy. The condo is in a gated community with guards 24/7, they don't speak English, but there is someone @ the administration office during the day who speaks good English & helps out with any questions. The grounds are nice and so is the pool. There's a big hut by the pool where u can eat as well (bar food). The beach is not top notch, but is ok. There is weeds on this end, washed up all along the shore. & when u get in the water, there's a couple feet of a solid rock ledge, then it drops down a foot back to sand. So I'd give the beach & ocean swimming a 4 out of 10. The condo and grounds however, I give an 8 out of 10. And FYI, to refill the water jug, it's in the parkade, you just swap it out (no one told us & we went 2 walmart). And if u book any tours, tell them ur close to the Ultra Mar ferry that goes 2 Isla Mujeres, it literally a block away. We got picked up there since the tour drivers where familiar with it. Do not fall for any free breakfast deals, they will waste ur day trying to sell u a time share. Playa del Carmen & Isla Mujerese where great, so was Chichen Itza.

So to wrap it all up. Pretty good, but give yourself a couple of weeks. If u don't like the beach @ the condo, we just drove to the public beach in the hotel zone, which is Gorgoeus!! Definitely worth it. If u want more of a feel for Mexico, & not just another resort, then the condo is the way to go.

Very Nice

  • 5 of 5
This property is beautifully maintained and modern. The condo is located North of the hotel zone right next to Puerto Juarez Ferry terminal which has a ferry that leaves for Isla Mujeres every half hour so its a great stepping off place to explore the island. The condo was clean and spacious and a great place to go back to at the end of the day.
As the other reviews state, the owners are fantastic and very responsive and helpful with questions and getting you there.
The pool is very large with lots of lounge chairs to sun, read or just enjoy your day.
I didn't eat at the Palapa restaurant at the pool but my daughters did and said the food was good and reasonably priced.
The grounds were well kept and the staff were all very nice.
I actually enjoyed being away from the hotel zone a bit as it allowed us to not constantly be in the thick of the Zone, traffic and noise all the time. It also worked well to keep the older kids close and not around the Coco Bongo each night!
A few things that we found on this trip that may help:
Cancun Shuttle from the airport $45 for 5 of us which I thought was a good price.www.cancunshuttle.com. The driver was great and stopped at the best taco place I have eaten-not sure of the name but its right across the street from the Dubai Palace Casino.
I would recommend either renting your own car or plan on taking taxis into town or the hotel zone. I found either way the cost was about the same- there are lots of taxis all the time so it's easy to get around. Make sure to tell the taxi drivers on returning that you are going to the condos next to Puerto Juarez.
You can walk to the ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Isla Mujeres(8-10 min walk). We spent 2 full days there, rented a golf cart and drove the island, swam w dolphins and had a great time.
One new thing I found was ADO, this is the public bus system that goes all over Mexico. If you are looking for a day trip to Playa del Carmen, Xel Ha Xcaret, Tulum this is a great way to go, nice Mercedez buses and the best prices. There are tour services located in the bus terminal which were also very reasonable, helpful and a great price.

Being home away from home

  • 5 of 5
We were two couples renting this place for two weeks. Prior to our arrival, I had many communications with the owner and she was extremely pleasant to deal with and she provided us with tons of information which was appreciated.

Upon our arrival, the condo manager met us with a great smile. She is adorable and provided us with a visit of the condo. The condo is much nicer than the pictures shown on the website.

About the condo: this place is spotless... very very clean. There are plenty of towels for the beach and for the shower. The kitchen is fully stocked with lots of dishes, pots and pans, glasses, cutlery, etc. It is very convenient to cook... The gas stove is great.

The furniture is of great quality and if you rent, please treat this place as your own as the owners have put a lot of effort in providing us with fantastic accommodations.

If you rent this place, you definitely need a car; otherwise you will find yourself being isolated. There are buses but they do not seem to go by frequently.

The pool is great and most of the time, there were less than six people there which was great... it was almost like having our private pool.

The beach is not so great as there is a lot of weeds. Since we had a car, we often went to the Forum and rented beach chairs where we would spend four or five hours. So even if you are a beach person, there are options if you have a car.

There are games and puzzles... We left a 1000 pieces puzzle in the TV room... You are welcome to the challenge of doing it as it is not an easy one to do!

All in all, we had a wonderful vacation and do not hesitate to rent this condo from a very lovely and helpful lady.

Once again, if you rent this condo, consider this your home for the duration of your stay but keep it clean as you would your home. Think of the investment the owners have in their condo and if you do not want to clean while on vacation, a maid is available for doing it for you.

Have a great vacation at La Amara.

Christmas in Paradise!!

  • 5 of 5
My family just returned late last night from this condo resort and we had a great time! From the moment I contacted Susie about renting her condo, she has extended a gracious hand to help me plan my stay. I arranged transfers from the airport with Manuel per Susie's suggestion. He was on time, very helpful, and I would definitely contact him again when we go back.
The condo is just as described by Susie. Very, very well stocked kitchen, lots of bathroom towels and wash cloths in each of the three bathrooms, and a lot of room for the seven of us (4 adults and 3 children ranging in age from 7-14). Personal washer and dryer allowed me to not back as much as I usually do. Kids loved the bunk bed area and pull out sofa bed was actually very comfortable! TV's in all the rooms. Wifi was very nice to have.
Security walked the grounds day and night so we felt very safe. This is not a place if you are desiring the night life scene. This is a very relaxing and peaceful resort area. Located at the end of the hotel zone.
We took a cab to purchase groceries (cost us around $5.00 plus tip each way). Man at the gate entrance helped us flag down a taxi. Went to Walmart first and I HIGHLY recommend going just for the experience!! Definitely not what I am used to but found it facinating!! We found Superama to be a comparable grocery store here in the states. We preferred to shop here. Took the ferry to Isla Mujeres one afternoon ($12 round trip I believe). Fun to shop at the little stores and huts. Had a delicious Mexican lunch while there. Never shopped downtown Cancun but wish we would have. Not a place I would go at night but during the day it looked fine.
Beach was nice. Rocky but we could still get in and enjoy. We prefer the pool and it was very, very nice. Lots of beach chairs and some shade when you needed to get out of the sun. Shallow area in the pool so younger children can enjoy some freedom in the water!
Grounds was very well maintained. Condo staff worked on the gardening every day while we were there. Also saw them cleaning a lot. New condos and from what I can see, very well maintained.
Trust Susie and her suggestions! She was more than helpful and one of the most honest people I've rented from in a long time!
