Overview

Cancun Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Wake up to the sun glistening across the ocean, feel the seabreeze as you enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony, & if you are there the right time of the month, dim the lights (almost all lights have dimmers), and let the moon shining across the water enhance those romantic nights.

Amara Cancun is a newer complex with guarded, gated entrance, security 24/7, & walkways meandering thru the gardens leading to the BBQ grill areas, restaurant at the large palapa, pool, & beach, as well as gym, kid's club, & playground, all within steps of the condo. Wonderful panaramic views of the Caribbean Sea, Isla Mujeres, & the coastline toward the Hotel Zone.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, second bedroom has a queen size bed (both of these rooms have built-in closets & drawers as well as night stands & dressers so storage for clothes is plentiful), there is a small 3rd room with bunk beds, plus a sleeper sofa in the TV room with a queen size pull out bed, so the condo will sleep 8 people very comfortably. But 8 is the very maximum the condo will accommodate.

2 bedrooms have safes in the closet just in case you want that extra secure feeling for your jewelry, cash, passports, etc.

Attention Ladies: All 3 bathrooms have wall mounted hair dryers. The guest bath & 3rd bath have wall mounted, lighted, magnifying mirrors, & the master suite has a lighted magnifying mirror on the built-in makeup counter. All 3 baths are stocked with cotton rounds & Q-tips.

With both living room & TV room there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and there's a large dining room with long table & 8 chairs, 4 bar stools, & fully equiped kitchen, not just the bare essentials either. When we used to travel to different areas I learned to pack saran wrap, aluminum foil, zip lock bags, etc. I wanted others to enjoy the condo & have all these items already conveniently in place.

Each air conditioning unit has it's own remote control, & ceiling fans have individual remote controls. Master bedroom, 2nd bedroom, & TV room have wall mounted flat screen TV's. Master bedroom has Blue Ray DVD, TV room has Blue Ray DVD & Home Theatre with surround sound, & there's wireless internet.

Laundry room is stocked with laundry detergent, Oxy clean, bounce fabric softener sheets, spray starch, iron & ironing board, broom, vacuum cleaner, etc. All linens & pool towels are provided as well as beach towels, so all you have to pack are your clothes & personal toiletries.

There are numerous upgrades and additions to this condo from the typical unit there. We wanted it to be very nice, comfortable, & feel like home for others to enjoy, as well as ourselves & family & friends that join us.

If you have your own car or rental car, there are 2 outside assigned parking spaces, & an additional assigned space in the covered garage, conveniently located at the foot of the stairs & just a few feet from the elevator. There are 2 carts next to the elevator to transport luggage & groceries from your car or taxi to the condo. Please be courteous to others & return the carts as soon as you are finished with them.

Extra convenient store is across the street, Oxxo convenienet store and McDonalds (sorry, McDonalds closed) is a short walk up the street (about a block) at the Terminal, where you can also take the ferry to Isla Mujeres - can rent a golf cart & tour the island, shop, have a great lunch, enjoy the beach, swim with the dolphins (this particular activity is expensive though) - Isla Mujeres is a great day trip.

There are a lot of shopping markets, such as Market 28 downtown, & several malls including Plaza Kukulcan, Plaza la Isla, Plaza Flamingo, and Plaza Forum in the Hotel Zone, & Las Americas on Av. (not a misspell, that's the way it is in Cancun) Tulum. Suparama by Wal-Mart grocery is just a few minutes away on Av. Bonampak, plus Wal-Mart, Sams, & Costco downtown. Other large stores similar to Wal-Mart are: Chedraui, Mega. & Soriana. All these have bakeries with a wide variety of fresh breads & pastries. You can get fresh Lobster & fish from the fisherman at the beach or across the street. When you want to take a break from cooking at the condo, there is an array of resturants all around Cancun to satisfy whatever type food you desire. Be sure to try some of the authentic Mexican restaurants, a couple are within walking distance, & most are reasonably priced. However, some of the American known restaurants are pricy.

If you are energetic & like day time adventure & nightlife, there are plenty of options such as: swimming with the Dolphins, Tulum, Xcaret, Chit enitza, Senor Frogs, Carlos N Charlies, Coco Bongos (we highly recommend if you like high energy, music, & shows every few minutes - we have taken several people & they are amazed- say it's much more than they expected).

We can give you information for you to arrange convenient transportation from & to the airport (not included in the rental price). They will meet you at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it, then carry you in a private van straight to the condo.

We have a fabulous property manager that will meet you at the condo upon your arrival, give you keys, explain things about the condo, go over the administration rules, then meet with you again just before your departure. Cleaning before you arrive and after you depart is done at no charge to you. Also, if you should like to have cleaning services during your stay, she will schedule a member of her team for a small fee (currently $35 which includes up to 4 hours of service). It is my understanding that you could include in this time frame for breakfast or lunch snacks to be prepared for you there at the condo. That's a deal.

The restaurant at Amara, as we have been told by travelers that stayed at our condo & by another owner, as well as from our own experience, has good food, good prices, & the people running it are friendly. It is located at the large palapa, just steps away from the pool. We think it is great that a restaurant is now right there at Amara - so convenient.

So whether you want a vacation packed with activities, simply time to relax, or a balanced combination of both, Cancun & Amara has it all for you.

About Susie Loftis

Ray was born in Virginia, moved to the little town of Burgaw, NC the summer before 6th grade. I (Susie) was born in Burlington North Carolina, lived in Siler City, until my parents moved back to their home area, which was Burgaw, when I was in the 4th grade. So, Ray & I have known each other since 6th grade. Were just good friends all thru school & following years. I was a young widow, remarried, divorced, Ray was married 18 years, had 2 children, divorced. He called just as an old friend to have dinner, & it's been magic ever since. We have been happily married, Sept. 23, 2014 was 25 years, & have 5 grandchildren. We live in Wilmington, NC. We enjoyed traveling, started going to Cancun for a week, then 1 1/2 weeks, 2 weeks, & it still was not long enough. Reason for purchasing. We found out about Amara Cancun pre-construction, & could see the potential of growth in the area. We just love Cancun, so much to do there. Due to life happening, including health issues, we have not been able to get back very often the past 3 years, but look forward to the time when we can go & spend weeks or months at our Amara Cancun condo & have family & friends join us to enjoy it, Cancun, & surrounding areas as much as we do.

Beautiful apartment, wonderful pool!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Cancun, the apartment is beautiful, well equipped and very clean. The bedrooms and kitchen have everything you need and more! The pool is great especially for children. It has access to the beach although it's very rocky and has no shade. Still beautiful and warm. Very close to the isla mujeres ferry.

Beautiful Condo in a beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed at the Amara Condo in Cancun for 9 days (way too short) and were extremely pleased with our accommodations and overall visit. We were impressed at how clean, tastefully decorated, and well-stocked the condo was. It truly is a beautiful condo, and community as a whole is always clean, lawn and grounds meticulously maintained, pool is large and beautiful and beach area clean and all a few steps away from the condo.

The owners really go out of their way to ensure that vacationers have a great all-around experience, from the condo, to recommendations on activities, shopping, transportation, and directions from the airport. They are wonderful people who are simply a joy to work with. The condo was clean, the bedrooms were spacious (except for the third which works well as a kids room), ample bathrooms (3 - one for each bedroom), two sitting areas, balconies with great ocean views off the living room and off the master, and a well-stocked kitchen. We loved, loved, loved this place!

Everything necessary for a great stay is conveniently located at the resort: 1) the Palapa in the courtyard serves good food; there are playgrounds, b-b-que stations, a very large and pretty pool, and a clean beach (although we ventured onto the beach and our girls played in the sand, we did not enter the water as it was a bit cold while we were there).

As stated by many other reviewers, there are tons of activities to do while there, including, a ferry within walking distance to isle mujeres. We rented a car (it was more convenient for us to have our own transportation with two young kids), so were able to drive around and do quite a bit of sight seeing. About renting a car, I would say that I would not necessarily recommend it for two reasons: 1. It's really not necessary to have a car to get around, as there are very reliable buses, taxis, etc. and all fairly inexpensive and will take you just about everywhere, and 2. The insurance is crazy expensive (cost us more to ensure the car than to rent it). Playa del Carmen is about a 40 minute drive from the Condo and makes for a great day trip: Lovely beach, tons of souvenirs, restaurants, shopping, and a ferry to go to Cozumel.

I would highly recommend the condo, and a cancun vacation in general to anyone interested in spending their vacation in a place that's beautiful, safe, and fairly inexpensive. Although some of the tours can be pricey, just about everything else is quite affordable.

Where the locals go to vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed in this property for a week on vacation. The facilities are very nice and decorated beautifully. My only suggestion is that the property sleeps 4 adults comfortably (in the two 2 bedrooms) and the bunk bed room is extremely tiny and would only work for young children.

The restaurant on the property is terrific, especially for lunch. The staff mainly speaks Spanish and are not fast with their service but they are very nice and the food is excellent. The beach is more natural and not extremely clear but the pool and property are beautiful.

You can take a short cab ride to Superama by Walmart to grab groceries and Starbucks. We really enjoyed our stay & would go back again.

Owner's Response: Thank you. Just for others info, adults have slept in the bunk beds a number of times, so can - however, would not work for a 6 ft. person :-)). That room is small but does have it's own adjoining full bath. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the TV room, in addition to the other 2 separate bedrooms. Thanks for mentioning Starbucks - I keep forgetting about it being there, so have not mentioned that to others. Glad you enjoyed your stay & hope you will return for a future stay. Thanks, Susie & Ray

EXCELLENT OPTION IN CANCUN

  • 5 of 5

IF YOU ARE LOOKING A REALLY NICE PLACE TO STAY IN CANCUN THIS IS THE ONE!

WE WENT THERE FOR OUR NEW YEARS VACATION. ONE WEEK WAS NOT ENOUGH TO ENJOY THE APARTMENT, IT HAS TWO BEDROOMS AND ONE SMALL BEDROOM WHICH WORKS PERFECT FOR US, THE PROPERTY HAS A RESTAURANT DOWNSTAIRS WHICH IS PERFECT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GO OUT TO EAT, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE KIND OF SLOW SERVING THE FOOD IS REALLY GOOD AND THE STAFF ARE NICE!... THE BUILDING IS WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE ISLA MUJERES FERRY SO IS A GOOD OPTION, IS NOT REALLY CLOSED TO THE ZONA HOTELERA, THE BEACH IN THE BUILDING HAS NICE SAND BUT THE WATERS ARE NOT CLEAN SO IS NOT AN OPTION TO STAY IN THE BEACH, YOU NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. SUSIE (THE OWNER) WAS EXTREMLEY HELPFULL WITH HER EMAILS GIVING INFORMATION. THE BEST WAY TO MOVE IN CANCUN IS WITH TAXI, THEY ARE KIND OF INEXPENSIVE AND YOU CAN GET TO MEET THE CANCUN PEOPLE... OVERALL THE APARTMENT IS NICE AND EVERYTHING IS CLEAN AND NICE!...

An excellent hidden gem in Cancun!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful condo in north Cancun that keeps you out of the hustle of the usual Hotel Zone thrash. Susie graciously worked with our party of five on extremely short notice when our original rental in Puerto Morelos ended up an un-airconditioned nightmare. She was wonderful to deal with on the phone and ensured our arrival went without a hitch. Her on-site property manager, Bego, had the condo cleaned and spotless when we arrived.

We had booked a house in Puerto Morelos for our daughter's graduation summer trip that turned out to be not what was expected. After a frantic search on VRBO we discovered this truly hidden gem. The online pictures truly don't do it justice. The two main bedrooms are perfectly sized with their own bathrooms and the third is great for kids as it has bunk beds and it's own ensuite bath as well. The kitchen works well with every sort of utensil and small appliance you could ask for. The main dining table seats 8 and leads into the main living space. The two sectionals are crazy comfy and are perfect for viewing the large flat screen TV. The second floor view of the complex is delightful and the green waters of the Caribbean are a hundred yards away. Oh, and did I mention the Carrier air conditioners? They're fabulous and keep the condo as cool as you want with no fuss.

The real secret of this complex is the pool, garden and grounds. The grounds are meticulously maintained by conscientious workers and lead to a fabulous pool with a shallow walk-in that leads to a 4.5' deep pool perfect for kids and adults alike. There are dozens of chaise lounges around the perimeter of the pool on the ocean side as well as under shaded wooden pergolas. A large palapa has a restaurant available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's fabulous as well.

The pool overlooks the ocean and is open until 11:00 pm, great for a nighttime dip.

Security is flawless and friendly. There are security guards at each entrance and roaming guards on site who ensure you feel safe at every turn. Everyone we encountered was extremely professional and truly enjoyed their job. My wife commented that she felt completely safe during our entire stay.

The condo is spacious and truly a high-end experience. The furnishings, decor and appointments made the week so very memorable and enjoyable. Don't miss out on the glowing tree in the living room!

If you want a relaxing week, stay here and avoid the hassle of the Hotel Zone!

Owner's Response: What a wonderful review. One every property owner would be proud of. Thank you so much David. Seems our time & efforts in setting up & decorating the condo provided what we intended - an up scale vacation property where travelers can be comfortable & have the conveniences of home. Glad we were able to turn a not so pleasant situation into a pleasant one on a moments notice for your family Cancun vacation. You pointed out a number of features in our condo & facilities at Amara Cancun that will be very informative & helpful for other travelers when planning their vacation. We appreciate that. I should have had you do the write up for our property on VRBO! So glad you enjoyed your stay & hope you will return again. Thanks, Susie & Ray

3 Great Weeks

  • 5 of 5

This condo is beautiful. There were 7 of us and we never felt cramped. Having the 3 bathrooms and the washer, dryer made live so easy. The kitchen was fully stocked and the entire place was comfortable. We felt no need for a car. It was no problem getting a taxi or small bus at the gate. The R1 bus which goes to the hotel zone is often right at the port, just a short walk. If you want to explore any beach or any spots in the hotel zone one bus takes you any where. The security was very good and the grounds were beautiful. The owners and the manager we very helpful and the communication was excellent. We found the location to be great, just a walk to the port, easy access to shopping, restaurants and the ADO bus station down town. The ADO bus goes anywhere you would desire, there is also the Playa Express vans that are cheaper and will stop along the way, Puerto Morelos is a great day trip and the snorkeling was fantastic. We had a great time and would stay again in a heart beat.
