Springfield Cottage Rental Photos and Description
2 bedrooms + loft, 1 bath, sleeps 7
Come visit our peaceful and relaxing rental cottage with spectacular views on the banks of the Connecticut River in Springfield, Vermont. Whether it's fishing, boating, hiking, antiquing or just reading on the riverfront deck, our cozy red cottage offers the best of Vermont.
The cottage is set on 3/4's of an acre with 150 feet of riverfront on the scenic Connecticut River. As you walk down the stone steps from the car park, the cottage offers three areas to relax under a canopy of trees and surrounded by lush ferns and other plantings.
Gather together around the fire on the stone patio by the house with a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit. Enjoy your coffee in the morning sun on the deck that seems to be suspended over the water. Fish, swim, and tie up your boat to the 8x10 floating dock on the river's edge. The Connecticut River is navigable and there is a public boat launch 5 miles downriver.
Description: The cottage offers a warm, comfortable, and nicely decorated living room with books to read, games to play, an I-pod capable stereo, fireplace, and wood stove. In the spirit of really getting away there is no internet connection although there is adequate cell phone coverage. A small TV with DVD is also available.
In the dining area there is long counter style sit-down table with a wall of windows from which you can watch the river flow by. The kitchen features a refrigerator, microwave, two burner electric cook top, coffee pot, toaster over, and electric skillet. Please note there is no oven (but who wants to bake on vacation anyway). There is one full bath with walk-in shower.
Downstairs there is one bedroom with a double bed and closet and upstairs there is a pine-paneled loft with five beds and room for a crib. All the comfy mattresses are only 1- 3 years old so expect a good night's sleep.

Fun loving sailor who spent most of my summers growing up at our family cottage on the Connecticut River. I have a partner of 3 years and we plan to sail off into the sunset in 3-5 years on our 44 ft sailboat.
Owner purchased this cottage in 1998
Why Owner chose Springfield
I bought the cottage in 1998 from my Aunt Del. She is the daughter of my grandfather who bought the house in 1950. It has been in my family for almost 60 years and when my aunt's husband was dying of cancer they decided to sell the place. I realized there was no way I could let it leave the family so I bought it. It has been a blessing.
