DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY...TOTALLY MISLEADING..TERRIBLE

We rented this property for a week. Very important that we were by the water to accomadate a frail traveler. Advertised as:
-Steps from Private Beach:ABSOLUTELY NOT! 2 blocks to beach. Private Beach is not a beach. It's a very very small patch of dirty sand covered with kayaks and so full of sea weed, it's impossible to go in the water.
- Ocean View from Bedrooms: ABSOLUTELY NOT, unless you want to stand in a 3-square foot area, crane your neck, and glimpse a postage size piece of water over many roof tops
This ad is a lie. Since we came from California, we were unable to change rentals when we got there. We were stuck.
One of our travelers was very ill, and this may have been his last trip. At the time I rented, the VRBO advertisement heading said "With Beach View". I can't tell you how upsetting this was to not have a calm place by the water.
The owner was misleading, actually fraudulant. When confronted, she was difficult and rude.
Do not waste your money, or be misled.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry your expectations were not met during your visit.
We take pride in our home, and strive to create wonderful experiences and memories for our vacationers. We take all reviews seriously, and will use this information to make appropriate changes.
As you know, Martha’s Vineyard is an island surrounded by 124.6 miles of tidal shoreline and known for its whimsical "ginger bread" houses. Less than or approximately 300 ft from our home is the Lagoon Pond, which offers magical sunsets, and great fun in a lovely island setting. The Lagoon Pond also offers intimate coves and expansive calm waters dotted with kayak's and water vehicles at their moorings. The Lagoon Pond is an excellent place for clamming, and the quahogs and scallops are delicious. Martha's Vineyard Magazine, Best of the Vineyard 2012, rated the Lagoon Pond runner up to only Sengekontachet Pond in Edgartown as the best place to Kayak.
Again, thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we will make it clear that it is a lagoon and not a beach.
