Taken on one of our many trips last year. We have a lot of fun! Annie is a singer songwriter. (We always leave a CD for guests-Making one fan at a time!) Chris is a local small business owner. We are currently planning our wedding in July 2012 that will take place on our property. We have had an amazing time transforming our garden into the tranquille/resort feel we have today.

Annie purchased this cottage in 2009

We love to travel and try to offer the kind of standard that we would like to have when renting in a new place!

A private paradise! Incredibly quiet thanks to the way this property is situated. Very close to everything but still so secluded when you are home.

Just What We Needed!

  • 5 of 5
We just stayed at the Best Cottage Ever for our anniversary. It is in a great location and is central between downtown, Cook St Village and the Beach in Oak Bay. We spent the days out on the bikes that are provided and came home in the evenings to BBQ for dinner (except one night we went to Stage wine bar...so good! And in walking distance!)
Annie and Chris are very nice and just did their own thing and let us do ours but were relaxed and friendly when we did cross paths.
That was a much needed break.
Thank you!

Good for a few nights

  • 3 of 5
My husband and I stayed in the cottage for 4 nights with our dog. The hosts are very nice and welcoming, and they even volunteered to babysit our pup for an evening while we went out for supper. The cottage is quite a bit smaller than it appears in the pictures and we found it difficult to cook anything in the kitchen due to lack of cookware/utensils. The yard is very nice but there isn't much separation from the cottage to the owner's living space, although we did not find this to be a problem. Street parking was sometimes hard to come by. Very nice linens on the bed and Annie had left some goodies in the fridge for us which was a nice touch. Overall if you need a cheap place to stay for a few nights and are not worried about lack of privacy, the cottage will do the trick.

Since moving to the Portland, OR from NC a few years ago, I have been able to visit my friend in Victoria more often. This cottage is private, quiet, and well stocked with amenities---Chris and Annie have thought of everything! It is so nice to come back "home" after a day of visiting with friends and touring the city---very comfortable furniture and nice appointments.

The cottage has great sunlight coming through the windows, and even a sky light that can be opened for air flow---very nice feature. I am a repeat visitor and look forward to coming back---hopefully this year!

Peaceful Getaway, Yet Close to Everything!

  • 5 of 5
Chris and Annie's cottage certainly is the Best Cottage Ever! When I arrived and walked up the driveway, I could hear the waterfall and thought, "This is going to be so relaxing."
The cottage is clean and well stocked and Chris and Annie left some supplies and treats in the kitchen and bath.
The location is the best ever! The Fernwood neighbourhood is a gem! (check out Fernwood Coffee for an awesome brew to wash down a sweet treat from Daniel Patisserie). I did a lot of driving and it was easy getting to downtown, and to all the major thoroughfares (TransCanada Hwy./Pat Bay Hwy.)
I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to do so myself again in the future!
Thanks!

Just what we wanted

  • 5 of 5
Even on a rainy fall weekend, this property was wonderful. Away from downtown, so quiet, but close enough to get there with no hassle. Just perfect for the two of us.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you two enjoyed the cottage! We agree, even if it isn't the magical, sunny, flowery time of year here in Victoria, the cottage is still a fabulous and cozy place to stay warm after your daily travels and watch the rain in the garden from the kitchen!
Thanks for your kind words!

A little slice of heaven!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I have been to Victoria on numerous occasions. We both agreed that this was our best trip ever! This lovely cottage is truly a "little slice of heaven." The setting was simply gorgeous and extremely tranquil. We loved sitting on the sun deck, listening to the waterfall and enjoying a glass of wine, especially after a long day of bike riding on one of the many glorious trails that Victoria has to offer. In the mornings we walked to Arriba coffee shop ( I highly recommend their omelette's and the hot chocolate is to die for! ) The cottage was adorable and so comfortable. We didn't get the chance to meet Chris, but Annie was such a delight! Thank you Chris and Annie for providing such a special "home away from home." We absolutely will be back!!

Owner's Response: We love it when guests take our town by storm as you two did! A long, active day followed by a nice glass... You really speak our language! Hope to see you two again :)
