Fair unit, good location

We were traveling with a toddler so wanted a bedroom to get him to bed to without having to sit in the dark in a hotel room after he was put down for the night.
The positive first: If you need to be downtown in proximity to the convention centre, major hotels, the aquarium, CNN, Coke etc, this is the place. The cost is a fraction of major hotels nearby, and it is an easy walk from the Peachtree Centre MARTA station (even on the same side of the street as the elevator exit to the street), which we took to & from the airport.
The building is older (maybe 25-30 yrs old) but is secure, with 24hr concierge and security cameras. The lobby is clean & bright. The unit is basic, with a bedroom, living room (with cable TV), small bathroom with tub and kitchen. There is no kitchen or dining room table, so if you are eating in, you're sitting on the couch. The kitchen & bathroom could do with being renovated, but they are functional enough.
There is a screened in balcony but we didn't use it as it was not very toddler friendly with a mirror balanced on a couple of printer boxes for a table.
The fridge & cupboards are stocked with basic items such as water, pop, & snacks for reasonable prices. We didn't take advantage of these.
On the negative side of things, the unit was not very clean. There were ants on the kitchen counter surfaces (ironically, there was a prominently displayed business card on the kitchen counter for an exterminator company that was servicing the unit...I wouldn't recommend them!). The floors in general were not very clean either.
There is a laundry room in the basement of the building with pay as you go machines. They run on a debit card system that you can load with cash using a machine in the basement. The property manager promised us one of the cards so we could get access to the washing machines, but he never delivered it.
