Bardi rests on the second floor of a private palazzo built in 1420 by Brunelleschi. The Camerata Fiorentina used to meet in this apartment, which was once used as a theater in the 16th century. The scenic machinery used during the Renaissance still hangs from the ceiling of the apartment. This centrally located apartment is within walking distance of historical Florentine monuments, shopping and dining venues.
This impressive apartment was restored in 2012 to a high standard and combines contemporary Italian décor with attractive Florentine architecture. Original 18th century frescos, a 17th century sofa, medieval terracotta statues and beamed ceilings embellish the interiors. The apartment also boasts Bauhaus period furniture designed by Van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Eames. In the evenings, the apartment’s unique lighting provides an exceptional atmosphere.
Bardi is stretched across two levels; the lower level and the mezzanine level. Entrance is through the library on the lower floor. The spacious master bedroom with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom is located on this floor. The room also has a sitting area, breakfast table and a lovely bookshelf. Two other bedrooms can be found on this floor as well. These two bedrooms each have a queen bed, en-suite bathroom and a private lounge area.
The mezzanine level has a state of the art kitchen with a cocktail and coffee bar. The drawing room is to one side of the kitchen. This room is a great place for socializing. On the other side of the kitchen is the dining room. The dining room features a glass table with leather chairs that can seat up to twelve people. The mezzanine level overlooks the lower level.
