We love traveling, and rather than stay in hotels, we chose to find the B&B's in England, Scotland, N. Ireland, & Ireland; roms or hus rums in Norway and Sweden, the Gastzimmers in Germany, B&B in a barn in Austria, and chambre or pension in France and Switzerland. Each one created a memory. We'd like our new guests to leave, having created that memory.

Tom and I were born and raised in Brodhead, a wonderful community then, and a wonderful community now. We have owned the property for many years, and decided to convert it into a vacation property for others to enjoy as they visit Brodhead and the surrounding area. We have other vacation properties in FL, Egg Harbor and Bailey's Harbor, Door County, WI, and Lake Delton at Wilderness on the Lake. Since Brodhead has no motels, we decided to give Brodhead vacationers a place to be.

SUGAR RIVER BIKE TRAIL: a 23-mile national scenic and recreational trail that runs from New Glarus (Little Switzerland) to Albany, Monticello, and Brodhead. You can bike or hike the Sugar River Bike Trail and area attractions.

The trail has a limestone surface suitable for hiking, bicycling, snowmobiling, or walking. You will come upon a covered bridge. Deer, many species of birds, woodchucks, turkeys, and squirrels might also be along the trail. It's a peaceful and beautiful country area.

Brodhead is the headquarters for Kuhn North America (Kuhn-Knight) and location of its Midwest Distribution Center

Comfy and Cozy

My husband and I arrived at Maggie's Loft on a Saturday evening. Everything was just as described and pictured. The upstairs unit has it's own entrance with carpeted steep stairs. Once we opened the door we felt right at home. The size was perfect for the two of us. There is a nice walk-in closet with plenty of coat hangers. The apartment was very clean and very well appointed with an iron, hair drier, different choices of dishes as well as glasses and coffee cups. We used the property for 8 days as a central location to explore Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. We were not disappointed, and stayed busy the whole week taking day trips in all directions. Tom and Bev were excellent hosts with a wealth of information. We've made new friends, and look forward to seeing them again down our way.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

We had a wonderful experience staying at Maggie's Loft in Brodhead, WI. It is off the beaten path, quiet and exactly what we were looking for. It is on the second floor of a home (there is a tenant living below) in the quaint town of Brodhead. The owners were kind, accommodating and very easy to talk to when it came to answering my questions. Their kitchen was full of top of the line cooking utensils, coffee maker, appliances, garbage disposal, etc. They also had the apartment fully-stocked with cleaning supplies, clean towels and linens. The only thing we needed to buy was food to cook! They had high-speed wireless internet, which was helpful since I had very little cell phone reception (verizon) in Brodhead. They had 2 rooms with a TV in each room so my fiance and I could watch our own shows without bugging the other person. The shower had excellent water pressure. The heat worked wonderfully. I have nothing but positive thoughts about my experience staying at Maggie's Loft. I hope we can stay at another property in the near future as we had a great time. Brodhead has a Piggly Wiggly, 24 hour gas station, a few restaurants and a bowling alley. 20 minutes away in Monroe is our favorite market, Brennan's.

Cozy and inviting!

Maggie's loft left us with an excellent impression!! We booked last minute and the owners were more than accommodating. The loft is located only a few hours from Chicago, which makes it perfect for a quiet, weekend getaway!

The loft is VERY well decorated and very, very comfortable. We felt right at home! The owners are a very gracious couple--welcoming, accepting, informed, and seemingly always willing to help! They provided us with a breadth of information about Brodhead. The loft itself is immaculately clean and is as described here on VRBO. The photos actually don't do justice to the loft's incredible charm!

Although, the block that the loft is located on is somewhat lackluster, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The downtown area of Brodhead is full of little shops, restaurants, and a few pubs. Everyone that we ran into was so kind--a definite breath of fresh air from the chaos of the big city. To top it all off, the downtown area is within walking distance from the loft. We definitely enjoyed the peace and quiet and we would go back in a heartbeat!

Maggie's Loft was a very comfortable and peaceful stay for myself and family. We immediately felt welcome, and the owner's were very accomodating. The loft is tastefully furnished and decorated, and the surplus of linens, and the well stocked kitchen, really made it possible to enjoy it as a home away from home. I look forward to our next stay.

Owner's Response: Leslie and family were delightful guests. She gave a nice review, even though the brand new cabinet door decided to fall off on their first day. How embarrassing for us. Couldn't believe it when we got such a telephone repair call so soon. Once that was repaired, the week went well for them it sounds. Thanks for being great guests.
