This is one of two prime located Saddle Ridge units, just one door apart from each other (rent both if you are a large group or come with another family) collectively known as Casa Moonlight, Big Sky, Montana, Ski Resort

This Montana vacation rental is on Saddle Ridge at 8,000 feet above sea level between two of the most spectacular ski resorts in the West: Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.

No other alpine ski area in the U.S. offers what the interconnected slopes of Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin do - extraordinary SKI - IN, SKI - OUT opportunities, among the highest vertical drops for groomed skiing in the U.S. (including hike-to terrain), world-class recreation year-round, and superb amenities and services.

Ski right out the back door and onto the Pony Express Run or to the Iron Horse Lift and you have access to over 5,250 lift-served acres of world-class alpine skiing.

Located on the warm southern facing elevated ridge that lies between the Moonlight and the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on all sides, Casa Moonlight is directly above the Iron Horse and Pony Express lifts which access both the Moonlight and the Big Ski base area and the mountains beyond. You can ski back to Casa Moonlight from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas.

Skiing and boarding are the main winter activities. There is ample lift serviced terrain in the 2 resorts, but if you feel the need to venture further, various back country options are available .

Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.

Casa Moonlight is approximately 1,800 square feet, has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and sleeps up to 7 adults. This Montana ski-in ski-out vacation condo is a luxury accommodation in every respect:

There are slate floors in the entry, bathrooms and kitchen. The vacation rental custom furniture is made out of Ponderosa Pine. This Montana condo is filled with unique western art, but the unforgettable views from all the rooms, make this vacation home a place to remember.

About The Owner

My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.

The Owner purchased this townhome in 2011

Why The Owner chose Big Sky

Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting - mainly in Saddle Ridge) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased our first home in Big Sky. Then in 2011 with a little spare cash to invest decided Big Sky was still a great location for another property investment.

What makes this townhome unique

The space and the peace and quiet. Yet all this with true ski in ski-out access to both Big Sky and Moonlight - and just one minutes walk from the best restaurant (Timbers) and ski-club house (Moonlight Lodge) in the Big Sky area.

I liked the property improvements from our last stay in 2010, including the bunk beds and queen in the 2nd level. The flat screen TVs are a great addition and we rented 3 blu-ray movies from the village.



We could have done with some more snow, but all in all it was a great trip.



Oops on the reading glasses, those are probably mine (silver aluminum rimless reading glasses?). If you could mail them?

Great condo with beautiful views

Our family of five, plus two grandparents, stayed in this townhome for a week in August. We had plenty of room and storage and the accomodations were exactly as we expected (if not exceeded our expectations). The views were wonderful, the kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the gas grill, docking station, and hot tub were put to good use. William responded quickly to all emails and was great at paying attention to details, as there were games and an extra cooler in the closet and a fan in the upper bedroom. Our vacation included visiting Yellowstone National Park, and we knew the drive would be about an hour to the west entrance, which was right on. There were plenty of other activities to do in the Big Sky area as well, such as horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hiking on the Beehive Basin trail (close to the property), and hiking to Ousel Falls (near the town center). I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to find a great spot to call home for a week with your family.

We were thrilled to saty at Moonlight Casa One. The description of the accommodations are most accurate and fit our family perfectly. We loved the location right on the slope and next to the Iron Horse Lift. This lift easily accesses both Big Sky and Moonlight Basin....probably the best location on the Mountain. We loved the hot-tub on the lower deck. The furnishings and apointments were really comfortable and clean. The owners are wonderful to work with and most responsive to any matter. We would love to come again next year.

This place is a great deal for travelers who put skiing first. You can literally ski from the hot tub. The kitchen is great with a gas stove, so preparing meals is fast (which I'd recommend, unless you enjoy paying $13 for a frozen burger in Big Sky.) Thanks again William, you're a great host.

I am glad that you enjoyed the cooking facilities (as well as the skiing). For clarity for other reading this review, we have a lot more than just the gas stove in the kitchen. There are also microwaves, coffee makers, hot pots, pasta pots, coffer percolators, toasters etc - in short a very fully equipped kitchen.

Perfect Location, Well Equipped, Spacious, And Decorated With Care

If you are looking at skiing Big Sky, look at Casa Moonlight One for a place to stay. Ski in and ski out with ease. Might be best on the entire mountain. Next door to a very laid back lodge with food, bar, shop, fire pit, pool, lift tickets, extra parking, etc. Incredible sunrises over the mountains looking South. Southern stars at night are equally inspiring. Condo had ample room for the two couples we had in the unit. Kitchen had everything to make any type of meal. Plus unit had a gas BBQ. Nice size bathrooms that had lots of towels. Plenty of closets to get suitcases and everything else out of the way. Plus, you'll never get bored skiing Big Sky.
