This three-bedroom, two-bathroom classic Coronado Village home, which was built in 1910, seamlessly combines the charm of a unique early twentieth-century home with the look and feel of contemporary styling. Completely remodeled, refurnished, and repainted in 2011, this home is nestled on elegant and tranquil A Avenue and situated only minutes by foot from one of America's finest beaches, the Coronado Municipal Golf Course and, of course, the world-famous Hotel del Coronado. You can enjoy the comfort of a fully air-conditioned home with travertine bathrooms with multiple and rainhead shower heads, a private and spacious master suite, French doors that open onto a private patio and walled garden, and hardwood floors of rare beauty and style. Covered for decades by carpet, the original 1910 clear Douglas fir floors breathe again after being restored in 2011 to their original splendor. The home features an updated kitchen with a new stainless steel refrigerator and a filtered water system, a new tankless water heater, a gas fireplace, three flat screen televsions, cable access, and high-speed WIFI internet access. Known as the Ben and Camille Wyatt Home, the house has a rich history. Commodore Ben Harrison Wyatt was an early U.S. Navy aviator, a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for his work in 1926 in mapping Alaska, and a driving force behind the founding of the Coronado Municipal Golf Course. During his 30-year naval career, he also served as naval air attache in several European capitals and, later, as military governor of the Marshall Islands. His wife, Camille Palmer Wyatt, was the daughter of a well-known British landscape painter.

About The Owner

My family has lived in Coronado since 1957 and at 729 A Avenue since 1967. We love this house and its history and plan to retire here someday.

The home is quiet and peaceful and a perfect place to relax and unwind. Known as the Ben and Camille Wyatt house, this home has a strong and direct connection to the history of Coronado and to the history of the U.S. Navy and naval aviation. Just 5 blocks away is Coronado's nationally reknown Central Beach, and the city's climate is temperate year round.

My family and I stayed here for vacation/business purposes. I did the business part by attending a conference across the bay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt during the day time. This was a quick 10 minute trip. My family very much enjoyed Coronado and the surrounding area. This is a safe peaceful neighborhood. There is a playground/park for kids about 3 blocks away. We typically drove to the beach, though it is walkable distance. The house itself lives up to all the reviews here, so i won't repeat what has already been said. I would not hesitate to stay here again on future trips! I found no major drawbacks. As it is an older home and there is a bit of a gap between the floor and bedroom doors, noise seems to travel easily. Also, the upstairs master BR can get a bit warm. These minor issues notwithstanding, we were 100% satisfied. Bob was attentive and easy to work with, despite our 1130pm arrival.

Wonderful Rental

We have spent the past 4 summers visiting Coronado and the past two have been at this home. Being that I'm extremely picky when it comes to cleanliness, this home meets my expectations. The beds and linens are comfortable and accommodate us and our two young boys perfectly. Plenty of bath and beach towels are also provided, as well as beach chairs and toys for the kids. We love the location, with its close proximity to Spreckels park as well as a short 15 minute walk to the beach with plenty of lovely homes to admire along the way. The newly remodeled kitchen has a nice variety of cooking necessities making it easy to stay in at night. Boney's Bayside Market on Orange/1st has a great selection of organic foods.
Bob has always been very pleasant to work with and keeps himself available via phone/email if anything is needed during your stay. I would highly recommend this property to any family and friends.

Charmer on Coronado

Just stayed a week in Bob's charming house. The house has a lot of character and is decorated beautifully. He has thought of everything one might need during their stay. I love to cook and the kitchen was awesome. Could walk to everything we wanted and then came back to the wonder quiet house on an amazing street.

We just spent a week at this property, which is our second stay there. We love the house and yard! the location from the stores, restaurants and beach is perfect. The house is so comfortable and didn't lack anything! We barbecued and hung out in the yard and it was just perfect! We will be back!

Fantastic house!

This house is absolutely perfect in every way. The owner has made it very comfortable. There is nothing lacking. The back yard is amazing with the umbrellas and canopy for shade. We enjoyed sitting out there every morning and evening. The house is on a great street and very convenient to restaurants and the beach. The owner responds immediately which is rare these days. We can't wait to come back!

Our family stayed in Coronado for spring break and loved this home. It's close to everything in on the island an the city but free of the hustle and bustle of city life. The house itself is well appointed and so confortable. Bob is most attentive and a pleasure to rent from. We will return.
