This spacious charming bright attic apartment is in an old townhouse located in the heart of Reykjavik. It’s an ideal place to stay during summer and winter and it’s only 5 minutes walking distance to the city center and the old harbor!
The apartment is on the 3rd floor with an additional attic with a wonderful view over the old town and the mountain Esja.
There are two bedrooms, a spacious study, a dining room, a bathroom, a balcony and a kitchen which is fully equipped with an oven, all necessary utensils and dinnerware and a dishwasher. 4 people are easily accommodated.
Bedsheets, towels and bathroom amenities are provided.
This apartment is a very friendly and beautiful place to stay in Reykjavik for friends, couples or a family.

There is a washing machine for apartment in the community laundry room of the building (this is very common in Iceland).
The beautiful and quiet historical neighborhood “Vesturbærinn’ is the character of Barugata and it’s surrounding streets and yet It’s only 5 minutes walking distance to the city center where you’ll find restaurants, bars, galleries; the concert hall ‘Harpa’; the city hall and lots more.
One of the most popular outdoor swimming pools of Reykjavik ‘Vesturbæjarlaug’which offers a fantastic steam bath, a great grocery store and one of the best fish shops in town are also very close by.
It takes about 45 min. to drive to Reykjavik from Keflavik National Airport. The easiest way to travel is to take the ‘Flybus’ which stops at Reykjavík's main bus station called BSI. It will take you about 15 min. to walk to the apartment or about 5 minutes driving. The parking spaces in Barugata are free.

Just to give you a brief idea of what I've been doing...
started as an artist in the early 90ies in Berlin, I've been working in the movie buisiness as a location manager and lately in the art department creating landscapes and greenery for major films. Now I'm in the iyengar yoga teachers training, finishing this year. My wife is Icelandic and works as a cinematographer in international movie productions. We're based in Berlin.
My husband, 2 teenagers and I had a wonderful stay at this flat. It is very roomy, comfortable and is well equipped with everything one needs. There are food stores not far away to get either basics or to cook a big meal if you like. The views from the top floor are amazing-we saw the Northern Lights a couple of times from the bedroom window. The flat is conveniently located as Christian mentions, to excellent restaurants (we loved the fish and chips place nearby) and and the center of town. Kex is a good place to check out and eat. It has great affordable food and a beautiful view of the the water. They have good bands playing weekly. We never felt like we needed a car, walking was easy and refreshing. We visited in the winter over xmas and New Years- I'd warn visitors that not all sidewalks, particularly in residential areas are shoveled or clear-in fact some are quite icy. Nevertheless that didn't stop us from doing the many excursions Iceland has to offer including glacier hiking, geothermal pools, caving etc. We walked to the International Hotel (I believe that's the name) 5 minutes away to be picked up by the tour companies, which are very well organized and have an endless selection of things to do. The winter is absolutely beautiful in Iceland with light that I've never seen before-so clear with some grey-stunning. The Icelanders are super friendly and accommodating. If you go during the holiday time be aware that many places are closed for a few days and sometimes you don't know until you get there! Christian was very easy to get a hold of and easy to work with. In short, we fell in love with Iceland!
The apartment is absolutely beautiful, very charming and tidy! and it has all you need.
The surrounding streets are quiet, but yet it’s super close to the city center. Honestly, you couldn't hope to stay in a better part of Reykjavik.
I can't recommend this flat highly enough and you wouldn’t find a better host - Christian was friendly, honest and absolutely reliable.
