Appalachia at its best. A mountain cabin re-created within the basement (first floor, ground level) of my home for your pleasure. Private entrance(s), covered deck/patio, open deck, great view, very private setting.
The location has an East-West orientation, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your favorite beverage.
The cabin is fully self contained. It has its own kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), and a small living/dining area. One bedroom with a king size bed.
Centrally located between I-40 and I-26, on Busbee Mountain, the property borders the Biltmore Estate and blends in with the Blue Ridge Parkway at an elevation of 3,346 feet.
Well behaved pets are more than welcome!
I have had the cabin off line since August making repairs and doing some remodel. The cabin is open for business as of December 10, 2014. Updated photos have been added.

I am retired. I enjoy my two cats, Olly and Geo.
I retired from the Community College System and enjoy meeting people, thus the rental.
I enjoy traveling and finding neat places. I hope I have created one here.
George Stanley purchased this apartment in 2007
I had a half -finished basement when I purchased the home, which I separated from the house upstairs. I envisioned a downstairs cabin so others could enjoy the beautiful mountains as I do.
Living on a rural mountain and bordering the Biltmore Estate Property, there is an abundance of wildlife - turkey, deer, pheasants, bear, raccoons, generally all sorts of wildlife. I have pictures of bear in the yard and in close-by trees.
At an elevation of 3,346 feet, the cabin overlooks a huge valley. The valley is often filled with fog, creating a beautiful sunrise at eye-level.
I absolutely adored this little cabin and all of its surroundings. George was super friendly and accommodating. His property is beautiful and I can't get over the VIEWS from the big porch. Breathtaking. Cabin has everything you need and is about a 10 minute drive into downtown Asheville. I will definitely come back in the future and recommend it to anyone who wants to get away and just enjoy nature.
This property is in a fantastic location and at a fantastic price. We had an excellent time
We found this cabin to be exactly as described and reviewed. The views are truly beautiful. It was fun exploring the areas, Asheville, the Biltmore (must see!)Hendersonville, Black Mountain, the Parkway, Cherokee and their Harrah's casino, but soooo relaxing to get back to the cabin and sit on the porch to kick back and enjoy the views. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped if you'd like to make dinner at home, or grill out. George is a fantastic host with a wonderful personality. Nice to see his little buddies, Geo and Abigail since we left our dog at home. We stayed a full week and the time flew by. We'd love to see this place in the fall!
We booked this cabin for a short getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We were blown away with the breathtaking views....the sunrise is not to be missed!! The cabin is wonderful and the porch is even better! We had our dogs with us, and they were able to roam free and explore the land. George is full of knowledge and helpful hints and so welcoming! We will absolutely be back....maybe a fall visit next time. Thanks again, George!!
We had an incredible 3 days staying in Asheville! George was amazing - friendly, helpful, welcoming, it was like catching up with an old friend. The cabin was perfect, exactly as it looks in the pictures, very comfortable. The view is ridiculously gorgeous, unlike anything I've seen. The road up to the house was a little unnerving for me, though, because of how steep, narrow and winding it was. I got used to it by the time we left but my tiny hybrid wasn't a huge fan. We can't wait to stay here again!
We came to George's cabin for a weekend away. We got just that. The cabin is secluded at the top of a mountain with an INCREDIBLE view. We were able to spend the time together that we needed. George was very laid-back, accomodating, and made sure we had everything that we needed.
The cabin is also a short drive away from Asheville so if you're looking for a nice dinner, a night out in downtown, etc., this cabin makes that possible. It is also only a short distance from the Biltmore, the NC Arboretum, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The next time I return to Asheville, I will be back!
