Tranquility Awaits You at The Rookery, a small community of cottages nestled in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.

Our cottage has been recently updated to include painting and furnishings. We are steps away from two pools/jacuzzi/tennis court and 3 blocks from the beach on the Gulf Of Mexico. We are six miles from the Historic Fort Morgan and 15 miles from all the hustle and bustle of downtown Gulf Shores. Plenty of parking.

Front porch: The front porch overlooks a serene pond. Sit on porch in the large rocking chairs and enjoy the scenery!

The beach: The beaches are three blocks away - a short walk and a shorter drive! There are miles of beaches with no high rises, there are only private homes along the long stretch of beach. Privacy!!! You will almost think you have your own private beach.

The pools/jacuzzi/Tennis court: There are two pools in the complex. The large pool is a zero entry pool with a Tiki hut.

The Rookery Community offers a large pool that is zero entry for the little ones, and a smaller pool that is a few hundred yards away, a hot tub and a tennis court. A Wildlife Refuge borders the cottages, a wildlife watcher's paradise. Easy beach access across the street, no crowds, no high rise. We are 6 miles from the historic Fort Morgan: Take the Ferry to Dauphin Island and visit Fort Gaines & the Dauphin Sea Lab . Explore all of the three marked Bon Secour trails that are close by. There are two championship golf courses that are located within a few miles and of course dont forget about the Tanger Outlet Center in closebyFoley.

I rented this place with my 4 kids for a week, and we LOVED it! Couldn't have asked for a better place. It was clean, and all things worked as they were supposed to, and the size was perfect too! Very comfortable beds and couches too! I love the location as well. Beaches are close and PRIVATE! There were no crowds at all. Beaches are simply beautiful. This was our first trip to Gulf Shores, but it sure won't be our last! We only utilized one of the pools - the bigger one, and it was very nice and clean. I enjoyed sitting on the lanai each morning with my coffee too. :)
Paul (landlord) is SO easy to work with and get along with. A very nice guy. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. Much to the children's to chagrin (but my delight!) we didn't see any alligators. ;)
The place had some books, movies and games there as well.
I was very impressed at how well it was kept and how clean it was. The price is perfect too! I was happy to find it. A nice little treasure!
