Exceeded Expectations!

These pictures just don't do this wonderful home and the surrounding area justice. The views are spectacular and far exceeded our expectations. Every window has a magnificent view, even the bathroom window of the master bedroom! There isn't a picture taken from the view of the large window in the master bedroom, but it is breathtaking. Taking a walk up the road leads to another beautiful lookout area with photo opportunities galore. There were eight of us including my 3 grandchildren, 10,12 and 16. Every one of us loved the house and the surrounding area. The house is built into the mountain and there is a wonderful climb right behind the house. The house has two levels with plenty of room to stretch out. The deck outside (last picture) was a favorite hangout throughout the time we were there. Though you can't tell from the picture, there was room for all of us to sit outside. Nestled in the pines and looking out on the mountains in the National Park, it was our favorite place to congregate. The house was clean and had everything we needed. There is helpful information regarding the area and restaurants, games for adults and kids, even hats and bug spray. Close to Estes Park and the National Park, we were able to be anywhere we wanted to go in about 15-20 minutes yet we were up in the mountains and had our privacy. I highly recommend the Rocky Mountain Rush Tours, especially the Top of The World Tour. We toured the park in a large open air jeep-type vehicle with a witty and entertaining tour guide who made stops so we could explore the area and take pictures. The tour was fascinating and allowed us to see Trailridge Road without worrying about the drive. The tour starts in downtown Estes, about 15 minutes from the house. We took a trail ride on horseback through Sombrero Stables which I highly recommend. We are all inexperienced riders but we were able to ride up on a trail and experience wonderful views with horses gentle enough for my grandchildren. We took the ghost tour of the Stanley Hotel and everyone loved the history and the stories. It was the inspiration for The Shining and claims to be haunted to this day. All these activities were within 20 minutes of the house. Our hostess, Janelle, was not only helpful but I felt like I made a new friend in our email communications. I wasn't ready to leave and would recommend this home to family and friends in a heartbeat.
