Mavis Arnaud Fruge purchased this house in 2009
The location was my mother's home next door to where I have lived for over 30 years. It was my desire to keep the memory of my mother, Nola Arnaud, alive. She was a wonderful cook and hostess, always welcoming to anyone who came to her door. I want visitors to feel that same welcoming when they stay at Chez Nola Arnaud.
Our location is peaceful and in a very friendly area of the world. The locals of our rural community of Arnaudville, Louisiana, are interesting and inviting. We are near enough to New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette to make Chez Nola Arnaud a perfect location to return to and enjoy.
My wife and I stayed a month and had a spectacular time. The home is fully furnished and very well stocked with things you need, my advise is go and have a wonderful stay. The quiet country setting is perfect. We took day trips and some over nite trips visiting much of Louisiana.
Mavis will charm your socks off. When we arrived she had prepared for us a stuffed pork roast that was delicious, and went well with the pecan pie!!! We have stayed in many places the past 25 yrs, and without question our stay at "Chez Nola Arnaud" is at the top of the list. Mavis was very patient in repeating French words, until I got it. Now that takes some doing.
Treat yourself and book a stay.
We have two reviews as we were traveling with our friend from France:
My family and I spent two nights here and must say it was the highlight of our visit in Louisiana. Our host was so warm and friendly...she told us the history of the area, took the time to provide us with a list of all the must-sees in the area and was always available if we needed anything. The house was fully stocked with comfy beds and a refrigerator full of goodies. She even baked a cake for our arrival! We loved our stay and look forward to staying here in the future.

What a great hostress and lovely home! We were amazed the place was more than what we expected. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we need to cook our meals in. Beds were comfortable, the rooms were large and we felt very safe. It was a great girls weekend and Mrs Mavis Fruge was so helpful with information on sights to check out while we were there. She truley made us feel like a member of her family. looking forward to visiting again. Thanks for sharing a cup of tea and your homemade cookies with me Mrs Mavis! You made our stay OUTSTANDING!
We went to Lafayette on a lark and couldn't have been happier with everything we found staying here. The location is comfortable and peaceful out in the country, but most important was our hostess, our personal guide to all things Acadian (Cajun), from great restaurants, art and culture nearby to Zydeco dancing on Sat mornings in Breaux Bridge. We were only able to stay a week, but there is so much more to discover in this rich, historical and incredibly friendly part of the country. Don't think that you are missing anything by not staying in Lafayette. The real treasures are here in Arnaudville and surrounding, and the city is close by. We will be back, and hope to bring our friends. I can see how people can stay a month and even then not want to leave. Please come (only not when we want to!! ;-) )
