We are situated near beaches and parks, museums and other cultural activities, fitness centres and shopping areas, many fine restaurants and interesting shopping areas.

With a short ride (bike, bus or car), you have access to downtown Vancouver and University of British Columbia.

Our rates are: $150 per day / $900 per week. See below for details.

About Malcolm McSporran or Rebekah Sells

We are Rebekah and Malcolm. We have lived here since 1987, brought up our two kids, Shenny and Anpayo, in this house, and have many friendly neighbours. Rebekah works as a counsellor for kids and families; Malcolm designs houses and First Nations cultural buildings. Our kids are grown, our daughter moved out, our son at Lanagara college, and still living at home. Our grandson, Carter (2), also lives with us.

We bought this house because we liked the neighbourhood, and we have lived in this area since 1978. We turned our garden level apartment into a vacation rental by completely re-buillding it, because we realized there were so many visitors interested in staying in the Kitsilano area

A person staying in this neighbourhood can enjoy all the amenities of Vancouver, with very little travel time.

Cosy and convenient in Kitsilano

We spent a total of 7 nights at Rebekah and Malcolm's Garden Suite and were very happy with it. I agree with the previous reviewer that the photos don't do it justice! We were there in December and, coming from a hot country, I was worried about being cold, but the suite was very warm and cosy, with a basket of blankets provided in the lounge area just in case. All of the fittings are of a very high standard and the many small touches made a real difference. This is probably the cleanest accommodation that I have ever stayed in! If I visit Vancouver again this will be my first choice of place to stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Beautiful and convenient

Rebekah and Malcom's Garden Suite exceeded my expectations. The interior is a lovely combination of clean, modern style and warmer personal touches. Tea, snacks, plenty of towels and quality bedding make the space feel like a boutique hotel, but with more privacy. The selection of restaurants and pretty views within walking distance is excellent and multiple bus lines stop within a few blocks. The hosts are very nice and as available as you would like, but they also don't make you feel bad if you, like I, would rather just go it alone. I had a very quiet and comfortable two nights at the Garden Suite, and I will definitely try to book there first if I return to Vancouver. Oh, and they get a 6th star for calling me immediately after I left when they discovered that my boyfriend had left his coat and glasses behind. Truly wonderful hosts!

Contemporary, cozy, spotless and serene

The owners take great pride in this property, and it shows. The apartment is the perfect size for a couple or small family, and it is well furnished, and well equipped. The photos don't do the place justice! Everything was thoughtfully placed, from the flowers in the vase to the ice cream in the freezer :). The neighborhood is perfect for walking to restaurants, coffee shops, a playground, and public transportation, and a longer walk (but doable) to the coast. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in staying in a residential neighborhood while visiting Vancouver, which allows you to visit all the main sites, but escape the bustle of downtown at night. A quiet green neighborhood with plenty of foot and bike traffic, but not a lot of cars!
